Watching the Gen-Z video and rewatching this one makes me realize that older people are a lot more receptive to new things than the more recent generations and it´s supposed to be the other way around.
It could be an aspect of maturity tbh. When you're older, you're humble enough to know youre often wrong about things and if you exercise patience and try to pay attention to details, you might notice interesting things you previously didn't.
When you're young, you're kind of a blockheaded moron with no patience who puts a wall up as soon as something starts going in a direction you're uncomfortable with.

Funny enough, when these "Elders" were younger their parents said the same thing about Alice Cooper, Kiss and Ozzy. The cycle continues today and ALWAYS will. We as humans gravitate to what we enjoyed as teens. I can't speak for ALL but I even enjoy the music my parent's loved from the 70's and 80's and even music from my Grandparent's generation (DooWop Days).
I am pretty sure they liked the old school metal in their teens, but of course responsiblity had to come for us all
I love them, they're so sweet and respectful even if they don't buy into metal. We should treasure these people

When I was listening regularly to metal I got so used to it that it was relaxing, I could fall asleep with slipknot or motionless in white blasting my ears.

also I found their assumption of who might be into this music so funny... I was the complete opposite of an angsty teen. coming from a great, supporting family, always enjoyed school, loved to study, was around good kind people... and yes, LOVE classical music. its always funny how surprised people are when they learn I enjoy this genre as well.

I remember seeing them live at soundwave in Adelaide, Slayer played the same day, there was a 78 year old lady that was in the pit for both bands along with a 87 year old man who was sitting on his walker bopping away with his kids,grand kids and great grand kids (12 people from over 4 generations). \m/
