I’m so glad to hear you’ve been rocking yours on some adventures as well! I was stoked with their customer service which is a huge testament to a big company that provides so many unique products.
Great video! We were doing the Scepter camp waltz too. This thing is definitely a luxury item, but it'll make our off road camping adventures just a little better.
I’ve just ordered this and I’m just wondering if you’re still having good luck with yours? I looked to see if you done an update but I didn’t see one 😊
Maybe I should do an update then! Thanks for asking. Mine is still going super great and got us through some epic car camping trips. I hope yours will join you on some fantastic adventures.
Thanks for the video! Can the puck be detached and reattached elsewhere (e.g., table)? And detached/reattached many times? Or does it use an adhesive that would wear over time?
Hey undru, it is an adhesive patch so it’s a one and done sorta thing. But they do have a two patches in the kit and they provide two different metal pucks so you have some options!
It’s not quite large enough but I love the idea! It comes with that mesh carrying pouch which, I’ll be honest, I kept loosing when we took it camping last month. I usually just kept it fixed on the jugs magnetic plate and then when traveling between camp sites, I threw it in with my kitchen sack.
I had to order it straight from domestic’s website and I’m so glad I did! The thought of a black water container seemed counterintuitive so I was surprised that was the base color at REI. Glad you enjoyed the video ☺️
Hi love the video I have a question do you think you could fit a small pre filter to the hose running to the faucet or would that cause to much resistance for the pump
I reached out to a connection I have at Dometic to get some pro advice here since I haven’t personally set the device up with a filtration system. They shared that it is possible to set up an inline water filter but it would reduce the flow rate from the facet. The facet itself is set to a rate that’s relatively slow already for water conversation so a person would probably find it to be rather slow. I do dig the idea that I could set up my platypus gravity filter with the tank as the storage container to then apply the faucet to post filtering and that the hose would clip directly in without any attachments. They’ve got some pretty smart cookies over there at Dometic. Hope that answered your question and happy trails!
Once again you seem to be a step ahead of me on the same projects😆 I've been using a brew bucket (for wine making) for a few years but it has the same problems you mention. It has a spigot but it's rather unwieldy and large. What other projects are you working on? 🤔😆 Thanks for a great review!
Great video! Gained a new subscriber! 😉 Thanks for the quick overview of these two products together. And comparing it to another jug! 👏 We just received ours from an Instagram giveaway and are stoked to start using it in the van shortly!! Currently trying to decide if we bring it along with the 7 gal reliance aqua tainer or leave the big guy behind to just use the dometic. Don’t really have room for both 🤷♂️
Thanks you two! I’m sure you’re gonna love it. We’re taking ours out on the town next week up in northern MN for an in the field test which I’m stoked about. If you’re able to find access to easy water sources for refilling I bet you’re gonna make the switch to the Dometic full time just with ease of use. Keep me posted on how it works for y’all! Ps you gained a new sub as well! ☺️
I’ve contemplated one for a while now but think it’s quite pricey for essentially a disposable item in the sense of inbuilt battery. I use the 22l Jerry to store and decant into an easier 10l with tap for day to day. It’d be cool to see Dometic give a longer hose so the tap and jug could be further apart. Would give you more options but the pump may not be strong enough. Very cool though.
Disposable is a good way of viewing it with the built in battery, but I'd also like to see Dometic release an expected lifecycle on something like this. I will defiantly give an update when / should it die on me though I would assume and am hopeful that it will be a long time from now.
The only water pump for water jug I have is made for them home water dispenser bottles (18.5L). It's small and simple. Built-in battery. It sits on the spout of those bottle with the flexible tube going down to the bottom of the 18.5L bottle and a small metal spout out the side of the pump for the water to come out. That tube does detach for packing it away. There is a ring of lights around the POWER button on the top, but not where the spout is, so in the dark I need my own light to see how much I fill into my cup, etc. But it was only $14 CAD and it's all I need. I don't need something fancy and extra kool features. It is not a filtering pump, but the water in these bottles are already filtered water from the store.
Sometimes it’s the straight forward simple tools that we love the most. Thanks for your description about your gear! That’s what this channel is all about!
Just saying, I got two 3,1/2 gallon jugs at Walmart with the capability to stash securely on top of one another (add bungee for vehicle traveling) at $8.00 each, a usb rechargeable pump from Amazon like this with programable amount of water to pour or continuous, fits perfectly on the jugs, has a screen at the end just like this one and has foldable spout for $20, under $40 altogether. Since the jugs have handles gives me the facility to refill my 6 gallon one easily if I choose to bring it but otherwise I have 7 gallons altogether with both jugs. Nice review but in my personal opinion too expensive for what it is. By the way the Walmart jugs are transparent and BPA free.
Sounds like a fantastic set up, Carmen! Thanks for sharing! I’d love to see the whole rig in action - might be worth making a video about it! If you do - Let me know!
I've been researching water solutions and leaning towards this domestic setup but, yes, definitely pay for it. Would like to see which jugs / faucet you went with. Do you have links to them you can share?
my dometic go gas an awful plastic taste to the water. No way I am the only one who is experiencing this so very odd that no youtube reviews discuss this. have contacted Dometic but still waiting on replyhave contacted Dometic but still waiting on reply
Love our dometic faucet and jug as well! Great to hear about their customer service.

Oh Milo the look of joy on your face makes me smile every time I watch your videos… Take care
Thank you my friend. Amazing how as little of a thing as a water faucet can bring a spark of joy. I hope you and yours are well ☺️
Best review for this product I’ve seen! Thank you 😊
This is the nicest comment! Thank YOU!

Thanks Mike! And totally, feel you. I bet this will make your travels so much easier. Enjoy my friend!

Wow! Such a clear review. Me and my gf subscribed :):)
Thank you so much for your kind words!! I’m so happy you enjoyed the reviews and thank you for your subscription ☺️
Could you fit the faucet inside the jug when storing? Or is the second opening not quite large enough?
It’s not quite large enough but I love the idea! It comes with that mesh carrying pouch which, I’ll be honest, I kept loosing when we took it camping last month. I usually just kept it fixed on the jugs magnetic plate and then when traveling between camp sites, I threw it in with my kitchen sack.
Love yr video, I'm also getting this tap but for my apartment, enjoy yr road trips
That’s a rad idea! Hope it works well for you!
@@milotash thankyou
Great video! Thanks so much for this review! Where did you end up getting the ash color? REI doesn't have it yet 😭

Great review! Love your cadence
Thanks so much, fiveainone! I appreciate it and glad you enjoyed the video!
hey this looks phenomenal. I wonder if the other darker color would work well to warm up in the sun for a hot shower or something
I thought that myself. It’d have to be pretty hot out and in direct sunlight but it’s possible.
Hi love the video I have a question do you think you could fit a small pre filter to the hose running to the faucet or would that cause to much resistance for the pump
Let me do a little experimenting and get back to you!

@milo tash thank you for the reply and taking the time to research for me your awesome hope you have a good day and some awesome adventures 😀
This is so nifty!!
I think so too!!
i got similiar thing (only the head and hose) from china ecommers for $2, just plug to 19L drinking water in gallon and done 😁
Heck yeah, Bianca! Bet it’s going to be a nice set up that didn’t break the bank!
Once again you seem to be a step ahead of me on the same projects😆

Hmm that sucks. I didn’t have that experience with mine but I’m sorry you did! I hope you can sort it out with Dometic!
I've not had that issue either, and I've had water live in it for a couple of months.
Thatbis fantastic quality control right there 🙄
Woof, I know. But I’m happy to see that made it right which was great!
