Glad I've subbed earlier today 😎 The montage is sick af. And you have really clear and concise way of explaining things, I hope you'll continue making these guides!
YES! I would PAY to see you do a series of advanced tech and covering the depth of skill play in nioh 2. Conversely, I don't think someone could pay me to watch another video about builds... it's overdone, and like you said, there's a lot more to nioh 2 than op builds and spamming gozuki lol. Also, if you're on dream of the nioh, you should be able to make your own builds by now; you don't need someone to tell you how to do it. Figure out what you want to do, (ex) (I'm doing a speedy playstyle. AA agility, dash speed, dodge range and dodge invulnerability, etc). Find out what synergizes well with it, (faster movement and ki recovery on dodge attack) and go from there. What we DO need is more expert advice on how to make our play more interesting, more diverse, and raise our skills. We don't need another build video, unless it's for fun or something. But a lot of the topics in this video are things I knew, but the way Xeno explains them, and puts together useful APPLICATION of these tech... *chef kiss*! Lol. You really are a master of the skill play Xeno, and that's always what drew me to your vids!
Yo, as a PC Nioh fan, I deeply appreciate your advanced combat videos, and even if your build videos are outdated, they really helped get my noggin goin' for my own endgame buildpath.
I find ki cancel for feathers really usefull. If you try to do perfect ki impulse during your combos anyway, you are already used to it. Just play like you always do, and just add feathers from time to time to your attacks. Thank you for this trick, i didn't knew it before. I only knew Anima Block cancel. Your videos are great! What you can do with it, you can use weapons with skills which are causing mobility attacks and these can be ki impulsed. Which means, you can charge forward with a weapon skill, use a feather, ki impulse and just continue whatever you wanted to do. this is amazing
Now THIS, is what I wanna see. Screw builds, I'm so tired of seeing "this build does 5 million damage"... meh. Show me some skill play and advanced tech, that is actually interesting. Great job Xeno
great vid. previous tutorials and this have really helped me get through dotn, getting quite a few first trys along the way, wouldnt of been possible otherwise so really appriciate the advice. i will add when enemy's are zero ki, they take on paralysis super quick/easy, great for locking them in zero ki state. good with the unbrella yokai ability
I'm still relatively new to the series, and just finished the main campaign in Nioh2, but it is great to see what the upper skill ceiling is in this gane. I only recently "figured out" what the quick attack after a ki-pulse and weapon swap. I'm amazed by how much I don't read at times. Like leveling up low level soulcores, or how to select an inherited skill when there are two options 😂
I agree 10 billion percent! I'm so sick of builds honestly, and now, just playing through missions on dream of the nioh, without any particular builds. It's way more enjoyable than builds crafting, and true skill play isn't really possible if you're always so op nothing can challenge you
This video was awesome! I coundn't really find a way to use feathers in my combat other tahn in the begging of the fight. Now, with the cancels, I can really play with it. Thanls a lot!
I noticed this stuff when I was in the dojo trying to make up weapon combos, it happened when I accidentally activated a yokai ability instead of an active skill(don't know how THAT works), but then it made me curious of what kind of things I could do with fusing Onmyo, Ninjutsu, and Yokai abilities. This was while the 2nd DLC was out and I didn't have the season pass, I made a move that I will tinker with a bit and possibly give it a new name: "Domain of Takemikazuchi" Uses (in this order): - Thunderous Hell Ninjutsu - Sanmyo Storm (Raining Blades) Soul Core - Hakutaku's Guardian Spirit Skill - Daidara Bocchi's Soul Core - ThunderShot (3 Lightning Bolts from above) - Soul Release Talisman Again, I might end up tinkering it due to me now having all the soul cores and jutsus.
My god, I just realised how bad I am at that game while watching you haha. Well I get by, but I play in such a basic limited way. Great to see how deep the game can get! Love the video
Man , I really hope I can do this with fist, I love up close and personal fighting style , I may have to invest on sword but it be worth it. Dream chapter feels like a victory rush at this point.
I would love to see some sort of build focused around using all of these kinds of combos. It's pretty hard to find a build that doesn't break the game and actually allows for this kind of comboing but im unsure on what armor/weapons I would end up using or which stats are good to focus on. I only recently started playing Nioh 2 and forget everything I ever knew about Nioh 1 apparently (used an Hayabusa build that abused Iai quickdraw and Carnage) so I'm definitely curious how you would make a build like this work if you ever get around to it. :)
The ones that do play it, complain about the combat because they want a simplified, streamlined combat like in souls. There was a content creator on YT that exemplifies this, Magicat. He was complaining that he couldn't do enough damage to OG otakemaru unless in high stance, but couldn't dodge attacks in high stance. Someone commented "all you've gotta do is switch stances between attacks", and he replied "that's too many button presses for me, too complicated". So it's bad design on the part of nioh 2, that you don't want to learn the mechanics and systems present in the game?`That encapsulates that mentality of the souls die hards
20:04 excuse me please but what kind of attack or skill is this? That jump spinning move? I saw in one of the guides that someone perform something like this with fists weapon but i still can't found info about this...
Hey Zenoswarm! Amazing video, and tons of interesting information. Regarding ideas for future content, what do you think of making build videos for new players? Like new game build, way of the demon build, way of the wise build, what do you think about it?
So I played the first game and am now playing 2 thanks to the PC release and I have found that the Split Staff is very cool. Do you have any advanced techniques for that weapon alone? Preferably ones that would help me through the main game and then into the endgame? I feel I am just not using it correctly
@@Xenoswarm While canceling item animation with yokai skill/burst counter is easier, faster and viable in most situation (like feather + Ippon), canceling with ki pulse requires nothing to consume. Doing it with ki pulse only is great to follow up a combo (especially against out of ki enemies), and you can even go with a sheathing attack since ki pulse cancel will auto sheath your weapon. In the most efficient scenario, you can follow up a combo smoothly compared to using a yokai skill like how you can ki loop an enemy while applying debuff to apply confusion and how fast you can chain your attack without delay while keeping a human ki very low. The downside of this method however is how most enemy operate in Nioh 2: you get hit while trying to item cancel with ki pulse vs faster enemies.
