Really? I thought it was a common occurrence to accidentally get a ladder out of your garage, and then accidentally set it up onto the side of your house, and then accidentally climb it and accidentally unclip the flag, and accidentally bring it down the ladder, and accidentally toss it into the top of your garbage bin after your veteran husband leaves so he can't see you accidentally toss it a couple minutes before the garbage man gets there.

Yeah that wasn't a mistake. A flag is made out of fabric just like clothes and it's people business if they want to throw it out. This burning flag ritual just reminds me of how veganism is controlling. No one needs to follow the proper ritual to get rid of a flag. I think burning a flag is worse.

I know she claims her husband or family is military. I’m not in the military only my cousin was and I know that it’s supposed to be folded properly and burned entirely. I suppose the only question would be what to do if you’re in an area that doesn’t allow for burning like that.

@@Servergmr If you are an American, that flag is the representation of all the rights and privileges that you are obviously taking for granted. You have no idea how lucky you are. Here in Canada, we don't have the rights to the following, private property, free speech, to defend yourself and no stand your ground, no right to bear arms, no rights to your own children, no free press, can have bank account seized without reason or notice and it goes on quite a bit. Do you see where I'm going. We also don't have equal access to fair judges, They are not elected same with police chiefs. It could be also depressing if I continued thinking about it and it is getting worse.

A suggestion : if you have a flag that is tattered and worn, check with your local boy scout troop or headquarters. They usually have a place you can leave a flag with them and they will properly dispose or retire the flag. It’s a skill that is still taught to Boy Scouts. You can also contact your local VA group or office. They will take the flag and retire it properly.

It's not "our" beloved flag: It's a piece of fabric that holds no value unless you let it. Not everyone has a reason to honor a country through a flag, or a reason to honor the country in general

@@Pugkin5405If you don't care about flags or countries or the symbolism they invoke that's fine. My question is why you feel a compelling need to denigrate the feelings of those who do care. Why say anything? I'm sure there are things you care about that others may not, yet they don't get upset about it. Unless you are just a troll trying to upset people, in which case no one cares about your opinion.
