Movie Summary:
When the dolphin mascot of Miami's NFL team is abducted, Ace Ventura (Jim Carrey), a zany private investigator who specializes in finding missing animals, looks into the case. Soon Miami Dolphins players are kidnapped too, including star player Dan Marino (Dan Marino), making Ace's sleuth work even more pressing. Working with Dolphins representative Melissa Robinson (Courteney Cox), Ace closes in on the culprits, but not before many ridiculous misadventures.

Jim Carrey released The Mask...Dumb and Dumber...and Ace all in the same year...that's literally more success than most actors entire careers. Legendary.
Yep! This was his movie debut year, no more "In Living Color" after this (he does give Keenan and the other Wayans their praise for putting him on) before he was even on TV, he wrote a 20 million dollar check with the hopes and aspirations to be successful. I'd like to believe that he cashed that check in 94 after those three films grossed

The part when he goes to the mental hospital is all time hilarious. It's so over the top but only Jim Carrey could pull it off 😂
Part 2 When Nature Calls is just as funny if not funnier than the first.
You should watch him in The Majestic. It's one of my favorite movies with him. My favorite part in this one is when he's chewing on the gum and goes, "Your gun is digging into my hip." 🤣

My favorite Jim Carrey movie is The Cable Guy. So underrated. Peak Matthew Broderick, very young Jack Black, amazing Leslie Mann and countless others. Great story. Creepy and funny. Next up is Liar Liar. For obvious reasons.

That's Hot Fact: Jim Carrey came up with the idea of ripping off Sean Young's clothes to reveal her in her bra and underwear in the end.
Music Enthusiast Fact: Cannibal Corpse made their guest appearance in this movie. The song that they were playing was Hammer Smashed Face (1993), it has since become one of their most famous songs.
Movie Magic Fact: The actor playing Ray Finkle in the photo of the Dolphin's group shot is actually Sean Young in a wig and fake mustache. Sean Young herself isn't a very good kicker. So Pete Stoyanovich, a placekicker for the Miami Dolphins at the time, filled in as her character in the reverse shot of her kicking the football up and out of the hole in the warehouse. According to Tom Shadyac, Stoyanovich hit the hole on pretty much every take.
Love Ace Ventura. I still think The Cable Guy is his best work, but not a whole lot of people your age and younger get all the references in it.

The photos of Ray Finkle are Sean Young dressed up like a man. 26:37 originally they showed the goons getting decapitated but wasn’t able to get the film rating they wanted so they had to cut the scene short. 29:01 gotta remember she’s mentally unstable so her mind is breaking under the stress of losing. 29:43 it was a real prosthetic male appendage. The director had to pick out the right look he wanted for it.

@29:01 I think Lois was acting weird between a combination of breakdown/embarrassment or maybe Ace slapped the hidden penis with that rip. Anyway I always found Sean Young super hot getting her character's clothes torn off. Ray isn't trans just a helluva disguise but I can see the appeal of looking at it like that. Still they're a criminal like it or not. They'd be the Mona Lisa of cross dressing disguises.
