It's really a wonderful wonderful hotel! In our winter we were every year plm 24 days there. Sometimes twice a year. I have so many lovely memories. The people and the weather; so lovely! I have many friends there. Animation team, people fr restaurants, lounge, reception, roomgirls, gardeners, etc etc. My dancing nights there. The sun, beachwalk, swimming, the gym. Love them all very much. And the cats also. Know them all also. In the early morning, especially, they are with us, during the very early coffee time! We also where one time at Sal but Boa Vista is our favo! I never forget it! Gr Kees Holland.
Have been there twice and loved it .Very fair analysis.Thank you.Bit of advice we have also stayed at the Karamboa 3 times.September is the month when BV has most rain and an increase in flies and Mosquitos.Hence a greater number of stomach upsets.
It is fantastic I spent 2 weeks there in Christmas 2016 went to Salk 2018... depends on age it’s a resort you can make it as Quite or active as you like be carful with prices as I always leave my holidays to 3 weeks before and iv not lost out yet this hotel only cost £1250 .00 2 weeks all inclusive there was an upgrade @ this point for 90euros which we got free so you can imagine mayhem at reception but defiantly worth a visit I did walk the full length of the beech amazing and guaranteed weather
@ChampionHD it was sunny every day and about 28 degrees. Might get the odd cloud but still warm. Sea is red flag most days at the hotel, but there are other beaches that are better for swimming.

Been here no beer on islands apart from the local stuff which is nasty... and way to windy... I went in Feb, so probably lot better in June.. Ok for a week I suppose.

Hi we had no issues at all. I remember there being a sickness bug going around Cape Verde prior to us going and I was worried myself but I never heard anything in the hotel. Just take precautions with the medication
Hi, really considering this as a very good friend went to this hotel and loved it. How long is the transfer time from the airport and, is there likely to be a lot of kids as would prefer not to be there when its busy with families( lol, ours are all grown up so just want adult conversations.😁) We are hoping to go between May or June next year as we will both be turning 60 l am the April and Hubby the June, so it will more likely be the June. Also is there lots of excursions and l would like to go cage diving with the sharks and wonderd if l could do that?🙂
we just got back yesterday, and the wifi was decent in most areas, but guessing with a lot people logging on at the same time, it sometimes could be slow!

Hi Ian & Sharon, just come back. Weather is very similar all year round apparently! Whilst we were there it hovered around 21-24 degrees. Sunny most days. There’s pretty much a constant breeze but that makes it very pleasant.
Hi Levi, we took about €200 as we wanted to do some excursions and Rio the maid. I’d your thinking of staying in the hotel and that’s it then €50 will do you. You can see how much the excursions are prior to going and possibly pre pay
HI, the gym is only small and is mainly for cardio, I'm sure it did have weights but not many. Im sure someone mentioned this on the Facebook group. If you are not a member, search Riu Touareg positive advice for people going... and join.
The nightlife is limited to the hotel itself. They have a great courtyard surrounded by their restaurants and a massive stage. The entertainment at night was great.
Hi, I would say it the hotel is wheelchair friendly. I can’t 100% confirm what areas have the best access. Maybe best to speak to a travel agent about it .
When i was there, there were no elevators in the block i stayed (adult section). Had to drag my own luggage to the second floor by stairs. But maybe they have elevators in other blocks or maybe you can ask for a ground floor room. The restaurants have ramps to the entry iirc.
Hi Ted, it was warm but windy some days. I think we got there at the start of the food weather. Some days it was clouded over but still warm. Factor 50 was essential
Hi they supply towels on a daily basis for use by the pool but you can take them onto the beach if needed. We took our own towels away anyway as we prefer them
Went here a couple of years ago after my daughter treated me to it.Think i must have just been plain unlucky reading the rest of these comments,but got food-poisoning on the second day,slipped and sprained my knee on the 4th due to a tiled floor that had been washed but didn't have a slip-hazzard sign and every day the red flag was out on the beach so you couldn't swim in the sea.I was only there for a week but honestly couldn't wait to go home. Another thing to mention is that outside of the hotel grounds,the land-scape resembles the surface of Mars and also,if you go with TUI from Gatwick,because of the length of the flight,there's no in-flight entertainment so you can only twiddle your thumbs for 6 hours
@@DF-rj7jl Pay to go on holiday and watch the football that's my point. . . . a different culture an nice setting and you wanna watch some overpaid grown arse men kick some leather in a net and shout at the TV and possibly get disappointed. I mean sure I know some people get their kicks in different ways but its akin to going on holiday and sitting in the cinema to watch some movie.

I would probably say 7.5 - 8 out of 10. We had a great time with no issues.

hi, we just returned from this hotel yesterday, and the you have to book each restaurant through your riu app, but there is no extra charge

Me and my mum went a couple weeks ago and we got food poisoning from the chicken not being cooked properly :(

They have a variety of nights with different music. I didn’t go into the adults only club but the main stage was good enough for us
