When Ozai was like “he’ll recover” and Iroh said “but he’ll never heal” bro that was a BAR 😩😩
I definitely want to see the childhood of these 2 brothers cause they seem to be so different but so alike too. Ozai is giving "I want you (zuko) to be like me" where as Iroh is giving "I want you (zuko) to be better than me"
The writers were clearly so infatuated with the Fire Nation because the writing for those characters is the best in the show 😭 the little addition of the 41st was so clever and just the additional gut punch to make you fall in love with Zuko all the more.
Zuko and Iroh 🔥 I’d watch a whole spin off just of them 😂
And, absolutely, this is my favorite episode of the season as well 😭

P.S. The totem taken was apparently from the books/comics and put in here, which happens a lot in the series. They are adapting from the cartoon and comics.
Also a theory: the possible reason why the comet was not discussed with Roku was because originally he had only until summer's end (possibly 6-8 months) to train for all elements...but in real life, Aang couldn't do 3 seasons with only a summer outcome because the actual actor would age too much and look completely different. This would look odd as they have to take time to make the new seasons. 😌
We get Zuko before the war council. Dallas did a good job at playing a younger version full of light and joy. I think Lt Jee is a substitute for the was the dude that Zuko almost had an agni kai with in the episode the storm. Remember him and the guy in the boat were about to fight before iron stopped it. We dont get Zuko dipping out after being chained up at the fire temple. And also we dont have Sokka and Katara here. Roku seems like a joyful grandpa here. He seems even more relaxed here. Roku was the first Avatar to overshadow Aang. He actually talks to him in the show way before Kyoshi

this episode was just me in TEARSSS! I haven't watched the original atla anime but I will ofc, but the fight scene with zuko and his dad, the backstory of the 41st battalion and sumo's relationship (and the DAMN respect they gave him and the shot of Zuzu walking down the isle and the respect Zuzu got from viewers too then), and iroh's BARSSS at the end of the episode ! I just love everything

So the title card for each episode has the mandarin characters for the elements. The brown first two eps was 气 which is Air, the next two was土 in green which is Earth, 火 in red is Fire, and 水 in blue is Water

Zuko is definitely my fav on the series, he's a badass.

Shows the directors respect AND are knowledgable ab the source material of the AVATARVERSE as a whole🔥
She is - it’s wrapped up in the background of what happened to Zuko’s mother after her banishment.

Roku never interacted with Koh that was only kuruk atleast in the og show. Roku also sound a lot more joyful here. We don’t get the mother of faces until the comics. June comes to the fire sage temple here in the show she found aang and company at the perfume spot. June is flirting a lot more with iroh here. In the show he was flirting with her and it wasn’t reciprocated.
Y’all should react to bullet train
Actually the mother of faces (Koh’s mom) wasn’t a new addition in the live action. She’s actually mentioned in the comics (The Search), the gaang comes across her when looking for Zuko’s mother
2 things I would want to see live action is the episode when we first see Toph (The Blind Bandit) and when the White Lotus assembles.
