I decided to do something not quite so Christmasy today and this was perfect. I added a branch and clouds with sky behind her. Thank you Calvin I really enjoy your quick and easy watercolours. Happy Holidays!
A great and simple tutorial with a beautiful result. Yet again. I added the autoblack 2b pencil and speckles to a part of the tail as well. She turned out so cute. Happy holidays Calvin and a healthy new year full of creativity. Waving from the Netherlands.
Im also drawing a robin but im using your older bird tutorial as a guide your tutorial really helped a lot on my digital watercolor thank you so much and im loving the alpine brush pack that i got from your last video keep it up cant wait for the next one
keep trying 😁 for this video I had to try 3 times before I was happy with my result. In most of my videos I have to practice a lot before filming. Usually I need to paint the same thing 3-5 times before I really feel like I have a good sense of it.
Hi Calvin, I was hoping you could talk about what your printer is and what paper to use in a video. And if you ever print them out for professional purposes. I’m having a hard time really understanding paper, what features to look for. Same with printers. Ty for the fun tutorials as always
Hi Krystle! Thank you so much 🥰 Printing is complex for several reasons. The main thing is that almost every method has some compromises. Have you see my printing video? The Short version is this. If you are just starting out, and you are generally printing things larger than 4" x 6", the Canon color laser is the best option. I regularly print smaller things without issues but I know some people will notice the lower DPI. The laser printer just has superior colors and blacks, and this is with hardly any adjustments or special paper. It's just easier and more reliable than similarly priced inkjet printing systems. This is not even mentioning the paper requirements - laser can print on nearly any surface, including whatever cheap cardstock you can find. Inkjet typically requires very expensive paper with limited options.
Thank you! Beautiful birdie! 🐦💙
I've just painted it and I love it, thank you!
Excellent! Makes „watercolor“ so easy and natural
you are so talented. thank you for putting your art out here for us to learn from.
Wonderful.
O lovely
Love your videos!! Thanks!!
I liked the tip on how to make the painting balanced by adding in those extra blacks! Great video!

@@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 oh I haven't seen the printer video. I actually looked for it before writing this comment, sorry I didn't find it 😅
I love your videos, but am not ready to go beyond the default brushes, of which there are hundreds.
