Thank you so much :) I tried to remember the various things that discouraged me, but ended up being totally normal and ok to ignore. When it comes to art, we limit ourselves by being afraid to make mistakes. If you spend an hour painting something, of course you are going to hate it 😂 just put it aside and reserve your judgement for when you have fresh eyes.
Just wanna say a huge THANK YOU for sharing this knowledge with us ❤ I binge watched your tutorials over the last couple of days and I learned so much!
Calvin, this was a lot of fun to watch!! I can't draw to save my life so I'm starting with already done images to mess with but yesterday I painted a cloud and some balloons all by my onesie!! LOL...it was fun! I'm learning a lot from you so thank you, thank you!! Jules
I love this one!!! I am loving the longer format and more complex drawings! Of course the simple 7 minute videos and drawings are great too!! But this is what I’ve been looking for! I feel like so many people cater to beginners but I love watching artists tackle a more complex art challenge!
💕💕💕 Thank you so much! I'm starting to realize that the editing is becoming a real bottleneck. I think I might try to focus on higher quality shorter video for now, and eventually when I get more comfortable with narration, I can do longer videos. It takes about an hour to produce one minute of video because my speech is very difficult to edit around. It will get easier when I start to make less mistakes.
@@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 Totally! Whatever is easiest for you and makes you happiest! I used to edit a lot of video too so I know how long it takes to film, edit, find a good background license free song, get that thumbnail shot or edit it! I used to not talk and then after I edited everything I would just do voice over to match the video. It was easier for me. But everything you've been doing has been amazing! Absolutely love your content and art!
I recommended this tutorial to a FB group, Calvin. I hope it increases your subscribers. I really enjoy your work. Please share more!! More Iraville style if possible. 😉
Aww, thank you so much 🥰 I'm working on some very simple iraville style elements that will make great tutorials. For example, cute little mushrooms and natural elements like that 😊
I've been struggling with transparency for a while. This is the best video I've seen on how to achieve the look I've been aiming for. Love it! Thanks for taking the time to make this available to us free of charge.
Thank you so much for your amazing tutorials... I am just learning to use Procreate with a view to illustrating my scribblings and I have learnt so much from you. You're amazing, and very talented!
You’re a genius, Calvin. THANK YOU so much for going over this. I have so much trouble with glass and liquids. I cannot wait to try this. Your tutorials are absolutely brilliant.
Love this video🌸❤️ But I have troubles with the brushes. I bought the brush set you are using in the video but they don’t look like yours. Can you help me?🙏🏻
Hi Calvin, thanks for another great video!! Could you please explain how I get the watercolour texture please, what is the process from purchase to applying in Procreate? Thanks so much. Sean.
Hi! Thank you for the video. I have a question- if I don’t use the same paper texture as what you have used, will it affect how my drawing looks? Cuz mine looks very different and not that great.
Thanks! I think all the textures look good for this - but it's very subjective. I'm worried that maybe something technical is goin wrong. Can you show me a screenshot of what it looks like? You can attach it to a message on my etsy store. I will be able to see what's going on and I'm sure we can solve it 🙏
Where is the watercolour blender from? I noticed it’s not in your brush set. As it’s one of the main brushes you use I would love to know where to get it
hi! Thank you so much! I sell the brushes on my Etsy but if you message me there, I can send you some brushes for free to help you paint in this style 😁
Hey there! At the 1:15 min mark where you fill the outlined layer, when I do the same the color part doesn't show the watercolor texture it just looks flat. Any tips? I bought your brush set on etsy just now.
@@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 Hello . I don't know how to speak English, I'm writing thanks to translate, sorry. I want to send a photo do you have an e-mail address? how can I reach you ? the procreta user in my language does not know! :(((
Thank you. You are a gifted teacher. Your calm manner is very encouraging to those of us who feel like we don’t yet know what we are doing.
That 1 minute of motivation at the end was so comforting, thank you for being so...transparent (pun intended) with your techniques

Hi! It's included in every brush set, at the bottom of the list :)
You can erase selected area by sliding three fingers on the screen
Was hoping the brushes were free 😭(but understand the guy needs to make a living somehow)
Are the brushes you're using free? Just got my ipad and I really love your aesthetic style

Hi! I saw you Etsy message 😁 can you show a screenshot of what you mean? I think I can spot the problem from that
Why doesn't it become textured when you paint it?
Hi! I'm not sure I understand -- in the video, I'm using a paper texture.
