That's a tough one. Keep playing your best at 3rd, but communicate with your coach that you prefer playing short and give him reasons why you give the team a better chance to win at short.
Third base definitely has the LEAST amount of time to react. That's why they call it the hot corner! However, usually if you field the ball cleanly at third base, you have quite a bit of time to step and throw!
Can you make a vid on throwing overhand and sideways in pitching. And the proper way to get your pitch mechanics to the best and what to avoid in pitching?
Yes, I've got some more pitching stuff coming in the near future! I wouldn't try to throw overhand and sidearm.. whatever is natural to you, but I'd say it's overhand for 99% of people.
Center or left field, you’re cutting off or relaying to second, third or home. Right side of the field, you’re covering second or relaying to third. Steal attempts cover second usually when lefties are hitting; back up second when you don’t cover the base. Double plays are self explanatory. Cover third when third baseman fields a bunt with runners on. Back up pitcher on throws from catcher with runners on. That’s a start. When in doubt, cover second; never be a spectator, and expect the ball hit to you on every play. Situational awareness is essential.
I don't think you can go wrong with either one! I have both Rawlings and Wilson gloves. It's tough to beat the A2000s, but Rawlings are great too. I think it comes down to personal preference. Definitely my favorite glove companies though!
Your #1 is the reason why we've got a lot of kids not doing it right. It should have been "Always make the routine plays ROUTINE! Get in front, get your glove down, two hands trap the ball, secure the ball, shuffle (crow hop), throw a laser to the 1B where he wants it."

He’s right about communication but the catcher is the quarterback of the team. As a catcher I fucking hate it when a shortstop contradicts a call that I make then a play gets fucked up.

I always try to see what improvements my son can make but sometimes I just don't see or can't feel what he does wrong sometimes...so hoping u can see his video and just tell me problem u see he needs to stop doing in his mechanics. Sounds like BS to me, idk if its still going but a backhand at deep short is a longer throw than from 3th
