I'll bet these guys had a blast! Most pros will tell you that the one thing they miss the most is the comraderie! The card games on the plane after a win! The huge buffet Magic's mom use to cook when they played in Detroit! The end-of-season, pre- playoff get together they would have every year at Magic's house with all of the wives, girlfriend's, family, etc. The numerous games of 'HORSE' or '7' that were played at practice! These guys are just like family to each other! And, even as a long time Lakers fan- I feel like I was a part of it all in a special way! These guys were my idols growing up, and now, as I see them getting older and heading into their twilight years, it fills me with a sense of longing and nostalgia for those magical days of the playoffs at the Forum with the California sunshine, 'Dancing Barry,' and 'I Love L.A.!' Where did it all go? What I would give to see these guys suit-up one more time in their prime! But,...that's not how life works! Time has one direction! That's OK! I sure do appreciate the opportunity to see these guys again. Even if they are a little slower, balding, more deliberate and hesitant in their movements or don't jump as high anymore- they are still my Lakers!
Different days before too much technology and mobile phones clouding us every where you go. These men got to experience genuine comradery in simpler times!
I got to say one more thing! If you can post any more footage from this or anything else they did, many of us would appreciate it. I'm willing to bet they did more than just have a "walk-through!" They probably gave some Interviews in some fashion and maybe even went out to dinner together. This was great! Thanks for posting!

I saw some of last week's interview where Kareem and Coop had Pat Riley on and he was saying "when I see you two" and "I've got something for you guys," and I wasn't sure what he was getting at...now I understand! This meet-up had had to have been planned for a few months at least. There are some other clips on other YT channels of the reunion and there will probably be more and more over the next week as well; plus, I'll be looking for some of the L.A. television stations and newspapers to see what time and coverage they devote to it. (They all met in Hawaii, so they are probably there a couple of days!)We probably will never see them gather in that large of a group ever again. Kareem, McAdoo, Chones, & Jamaal are right there in their 70's, and Coop, Kurt, Kupchak, & Magic are mid-60's or around there, so this was a special gathering. We will definitely see the 40yr reunion for the '85 title team in a little over 2yrs, but this was a complete 80's team reunion. I saw Chuck Nevitt, Ronny Lester Jim Chones, Wes Matthew's, Tony Campbell, Billy Thompson, and I'm missing some for sure. They all had a group photo there at the end! Great memories man!

And that was Mike Smreck looking like a giant , good to see him back out there and they all are still in relatively good shape. I've been checking Kareem's Twitter, Lakers Twitter, Coop's Twitter, etc. Byron seems to have to most right now and he posted something as recently as an hour ago. I will be looking all weekend; if I come across anything of significant interest. I'll check back in. I can tell from some of the posts, that they have really been having a great time in Hawaii. this is the closest ill get to see Magic play and honestly im very impressed even with him being older. The way he came off the screen around the corner very savy and clean, dude really a 6'9 Point Guard
