Just when I think almost everyone has forgotten about my favorite game, I see the most beautiful piece of art for this game I've ever seen. I can tell how much dedication you have for Yume Nikki; the amount of effort that went into this is amazing, and you deserve so much more recognition.

Yume Nikki used to be a very important part of my life. I was so desperate to share my feelings about it with other people. I thrived off of involvement with the fandom to try to squeeze any extra drop of content out of Madotsuki's world. For many personal reasons, I left it all behind rather abruptly about 5 years ago. I haven't really looked back. Seeing this now brought back a lot of nostalgia and bittersweet old feelings. It captured everything that made me fall in love with this world and these characters, and made me desperate to know more about them. I'm glad I saw this tonight. But despite it all, I kept hoping for Madotsuki to maybe have a happy ending this time...I should have known better, I suppose.
I didn't expect so much response. I guess I'll add a bit more. A major part of my efforts to feel connected to Madotsuki and understand her better involved me cosplaying her, quite often. I tried to capture what I perceived as her emotions and capture the right vibe in my photos. I was quite popular for a bit. In general, I got too comfortable with the fandom and left too many breadcrumbs to my identity. In the end, I had 1 person using my Madotsuki cosplay pics to catfish men for free games on steam, a 2nd person using my cosplay pics on an account where they harrassed people and incited outrage, and a 3rd person basically becoming a stalker and collecting photos of me and my family across my social media accounts due to my lack of precaution. As a result, I couldn't really continue to interact with Yume Nikki fans in the same way anymore, both for my safety and because of these events making me jaded. I had considered all Yume Nikki fans to be a "found-family" of sorts, people that I could share with openly and expect a common understanding due to our love of a weird, sad world and character. That naive mindset got shattered and I realized that I couldn't expect every stranger that liked the same indie horror game to have my best interests at heart. I also realized that maybe spending so much of my free time and headspace hyperfixating on a tragic figure as Madotsuki might not be the healthiest thing. I'm at a very different point of my life now. I'm married, and I have a career that I love. I'm a librarian now, and a large part of my job actually involves learning about and making recommendations based on the media interests of my patrons. I get to make these warm, fleeting connections based on shared passions for comic books, manga, novels, "if you liked that movie so much, then I think this book would be perfect for you!", etc. I guess that part of my heart from my years desperately trying to connect to people over niche interests like Yume Nikki is finally paying off. I'm able to say now that despite the ups and downs, I'm grateful for what this one weird game brought to me and how it colored my perspective on the world, the appreciation for the bittersweet and dark, finding the moments of beauty in it.
That was deep... You managed to capture all the chaotic and nostalgic moments of the game, even brought empathy for Madotsuki that the player did not have until the end of the game. Not to mention the beautiful music contrasting with Madotsuki's story and thoughts... speechless for your work.

I get so sad just thinking about Masada's spaceship and the field of glowing white tulips. They're two of my top favorite areas though...
I found the game like a year ago on steam, and decided to do a solo playthrough for the first time, all by myself, no recording, just enjoying the game the best I could. This animation... Is so beautiful. Honestly. I really wish I could reset my memories of this game and replay it as much as I want~
I feel like this perfectly encompasses what the game is about and the emotional roller coaster it is despite having no dialogue. This visuals were gorgeous and the sound design was spot-on!
Honestly the thing that makes yume Nikki so intriguing to me is the lack of official lore/plot. You’re just observing a girl’s subconscious mind and trying to piece together your own puzzle of why she did what she did in the end. It’s pretty depressing…

Amazing animation! Just like other people said: this video captures that odd feeling you get while playing Yume Nikki so well!. The music too is very fitting for Yume Nikki, with the repetitive, simple melody and the choppy Kasane Teto vocals. The effort that went into making this piece is just breathtaking.
Gosh, this video is so nostalgic to me. I remember playing Yume Nikki years ago. I was obsessed with those horror RPG maker games and thought that Yume Nikki was another one like that when I first picked it up. But, as I explored the seemingly meaningless rooms and unlocked strange effects, I found myself becoming frustrated because I didn't understand it. I kept on saying "I don't know what I'm doing" and "what the heck is going on?" Eventually, I stopped playing, never getting all the effects, never fully exploring the entire game. I couldn't wrap my mind around someone making something that huge, that intense, without there being a point. I would think about that game every now and then and just get frustrated. "What is the point??" I'd ask. I don't think I'll ever know what the point of Yume Nikki is. I'm not into super artsy stuff, which is probably what it is. I'm sure there's some deep, emotional meaning to all of it. But, I'd kind of like to think that there isn't. There isn't a real point to dreams. They're these huge worlds that are entirely structured by our brains but there isn't a "point" to them. I think it's kind of amazing to recreate that in a game. That being said, if anyone actually understands what the fuck is going on in this game, please explain it to me because I'd love to know.
You just explore dreams, there's no point to anything you do in the game, you go into weird ass places and see creepy things Everything to be said about the game is just fan theories because the game is that aloof. You either like it or you don't. I myself can't get enough of it.
In the game, I think the father of our main character died in a car accident and the main character was raped and got pregnant I don't know much, but.Some people were also talking about the friends of the main character.I guess something bad happened to them and they died.And I think our main character was seeing them in her dreams. İn short her life was so bad. She closed herself to her room. I don't know much too. Then she started using his dreams as a therapy because no one in real life understood her, I think dhe would collect different eggs and something would happen in her dream. But nothing happened.And she committed suicide instead of living with these terrible dreams forever. Here's a game that's so bad and makes people depressed.

Also, the blond hair effect is the same color, so maybe that represents a time when she was trying to become more similar and or appeal to the blond girl. The bird ladies represent society probably. The thing about the rape makes sense, but the toilet people look really similar to the hymens so what's up with that???

Despite being a jumpy person, I tried this game nevertheless just because of how this game seemed has so much depth in it. And well.. I finished this game a few days ago, It was an odd, very unsettling yet somewhat an okay experience for a person who's not a fan of these genres. But this tribute is definitely remarkable, and it's surprising how the song at times really seemed embodies this game, Madotsuki herself. Watching this made me feel like going over all of those experiences again in a different perspective, It even made me felt like I could even tiniest bit understood how Madotsuki felt when we interact with those creatures back then. I really can't believe how underrated this is, like c'mon this is super-duper amazing D: I only can express my gratitude for this masterpiece, Thank you! ^^

mann this stuff got me deep under into the yume nikki fandom.. this is my dark comfort song. the art is so atmospheric and goes so well with the song. its just such an entire mood on its own. i love this style so much and also, the animation is so very beautiful. i get the feeling that theyre good at drawing madotsuki’s facial expressions vividly although she keeps her eyes closed until the end. the art style is rather simplistic but it just adds to the mood better, i love how the arms are like a silhouette rather than fully drawn out. sorry for this rambling but thank you so much for this video.. 最高 some songs that give me a certain kinda vibe too: pretty much all of k_r_nb_’s songs, the ____ (kisaragi station)

自分とは何者で過去の記憶を探るためにゲームのような世界で夢に溺れて永遠に夜も昼も続けて繰り返しの毎日を夢の世界で遊んで逃避してるのに懐かしくて一人ひとり過去にいた身内や知らない人なのに覚えていて気がついたらここの空気に安心してまた行きたくなる冒険者のように少女は好奇心で夢の冒険を続けて歩いていると嫌なフラッシュでサウンドが激しくなって現実から逃げるようにいろんな人達と会うたびに夢の住人となってまた起きてはやっぱりそうなんだと…と受け入れず拒絶ばっかりの身体を一人うずくまり殺しナイフで刺してまたエフェクトを集めてすべて揃ったらいままでの記憶に未練をないからと日記帳を破いて死のうとかんがえる。この世界でも夢と間違えて繰り返し、いまもまた積み重ねの経験をしてないのに頬をつねるとまた戻りたくなるあの世界。
曲とマッチしてて、見入っちゃうなぁ。めっちゃ感動した。

I couldn't wrap my mind around someone making something that huge, that intense, without there being a point. I would think about that game every now and then and just get frustrated. "What is the point??" I'd ask. I don't think I'll ever know what the point of Yume Nikki is. I'm not into super artsy stuff, which is probably what it is. I'm sure there's some deep, emotional meaning to all of it. But, I'd kind of like to think that there isn't. There isn't a real point to dreams. They're these huge worlds that are entirely structured by our brains but there isn't a "point" to them. I think it's kind of amazing to recreate that in a game.
That being said, if anyone actually understands what the fuck is going on in this game, please explain it to me because I'd love to know.
You just explore dreams, there's no point to anything you do in the game, you go into weird ass places and see creepy things
Everything to be said about the game is just fan theories because the game is that aloof.

In the game, I think the father of our main character died in a car accident and the main character was raped and got pregnant I don't know much, but.Some people were also talking about the friends of the main character.I guess something bad happened to them and they died.And I think our main character was seeing them in her dreams. İn short her life was so bad. She closed herself to her room. I don't know much too. Then she started using his dreams as a therapy because no one in real life understood her, I think dhe would collect different eggs and something would happen in her dream. But nothing happened.And she committed suicide instead of living with these terrible dreams forever. Here's a game that's so bad and makes people depressed.
@@SemihSoysal09 yeah but at the same time, we honestly have no fucking idea. She deff had a traumatic experience, also the blond lady might be her sister, friend, or crush. Also, the blond hair effect is the same color, so maybe that represents a time when she was trying to become more similar and or appeal to the blond girl. The bird ladies represent society probably. The thing about the rape makes sense, but the toilet people look really similar to the hymens so what's up with that???

Despite being a jumpy person, I tried this game nevertheless just because of how this game seemed has so much depth in it.
And well.. I finished this game a few days ago, It was an odd, very unsettling yet somewhat an okay experience for a person who's not a fan of these genres.
But this tribute is definitely remarkable, and it's surprising how the song at times really seemed embodies this game, Madotsuki herself.
Watching this made me feel like going over all of those experiences again in a different perspective, It even made me felt like I could even tiniest bit understood how Madotsuki felt when we interact with those creatures back then.
I really can't believe how underrated this is, like c'mon this is super-duper amazing D:

true xD maybe just get scared easily cuz theres lots unsettling elements (its horror game duh) and theres no jumpscare as long you don't search for it

mann this stuff got me deep under into the yume nikki fandom.. this is my dark comfort song. the art is so atmospheric and goes so well with the song. its just such an entire mood on its own. i love this style so much and also, the animation is so very beautiful. i get the feeling that theyre good at drawing madotsuki’s facial expressions vividly although she keeps her eyes closed until the end. the art style is rather simplistic but it just adds to the mood better, i love how the arms are like a silhouette rather than fully drawn out. sorry for this rambling but thank you so much for this video.. 最高
