Kentucky Kustoms may have been created by Scott, but it is 💯% Pa Scott's show. The man is a genius of car detailing. I never even _imagined_ using brake cleaner to dissolve old glue.
These series with your father remind me and probably many of us how we learned to do these things as kids. Both your channels remind me of my childhood and that’s why I’ll always be a fan of Kentucky Ballistics/ Customz.
I would love to come and spend a weekend with you guys and maybe you could vynal wrap my car for an episode. 😏 Love watching the two of you guys and your comical digs at one another, great father-son relationship!
Y'all are Awesome ..😎such good times and a project with dad is the best part . really cool car. One of my favorites . Keep up the great videos and the great job . 🇺🇸
Ok so before any of y'all try to do this for yourselfers @10:09 a few things #1 take the body panels off that you are trying to paint, also it makes it easier to work and paint. also because the wrapping Process needs to go under or between those body panels. #2 don't just use an flat black primer, you need to use a plastic primer on plastic body panels because IT WILL CRACK same with clear coating and for the love of God #3 wet sand , WET sand , WET SAND, put your PLASTIC PRIMER down and WET SAND it, put another coat of PLASTIC PRIMER and wet sand that smooth, your your next step isn't putting paint on top of the smooth plastic primer than clean the surface with a prep cleaner and don't touch it after its cleaned than do a nice clean clear coating and guess what? WET SAND IT get any sagging or runs out of the clear and if needed repeat the clear coating and WET SANDING . Then use a cut and buffing in a step setup that you can get at any body shop supplier. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR YES HIS FRESH CLEAR COATING LOOKS GREAT BUT IF YOU DO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ITS GOING TO BE A 50 50 CAR IT looks good going 50mph at 50 feet away... 🤘🏁🤘🏁🤘🏁🤘🏁🤘🏁🤘🏁🤘🏁🤘
I was feeling the same as you watching this as I restore exotics and high end classics for a living. I was literally cringing when I saw what he was doing, clearing the engine was a first for me. Seal the dirt right in there I’m thinking. But then I reminded myself that they are in a carport in his yard. Also, I try to remember that most people’s idea of “nice” or done properly is likely way different from mine and likely yours. If I started trying to give pointers on prepping, sanding, masking and all the rest in the comment section here it would be an extremely long read lol. Scott says he’s been doing this forever and he’s happy with the results obviously. I tell myself that is what really matter. But, you are correct, it’s a 10 footer haha. Looks good from a distance. If he put enough clear on it would definitely benefit largely from a wet sand and buff but where it’s plastic I don’t think I’d recommend they attempt that! Anyway, I’m happy to see he is doing what he loves and is happy with the results. That is what matters!!
The local dollar general store sells a thing plastic “drop cloth” sheet that is easy to cut with scissors and fits perfectly over the car to keep off overspray. That’s what we used on a car body just like that one (only fiberglass race car body) cool to see someone work on the same type car (in Kentucky too!)
Man I wish you guys had time to put out like three videos a week on each channel. You are so humble and your content is great and family friendly. keep up the great content men and Scott how can I get in touch with you I have something I think you would be very interested in testing some ammo on.
Looking GOOOD BOYZ! I work at a body shop and this channel is AWESOME!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK SCOTTS !! Makes me miss my dad too!! Keep kicking booty boys
I put the first coat on wet, far less orange peel that way. Two coats and you're done, or three if you want to scuff and buff. But I'm typically putting it on top of base coat, so the chances of chemical reactions are slim to none. Still looks better than it did though!
Hi Scott and Scott! While watching another TH-cam channel I came up with a great idea for your next project car.Strip it down to bare metal, gun blue it, then clear coat it. You could also feature it on Kentucky Ballistics. I know it would be slot of work, but how cool would that be?!?
Fun fact about the 3rd gen F-Bodies. It took GM another 25 years to build cars that could handle better than them. Long as you did the frame connectors, it's a unibody after all unlike the Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ which is a uni-frame, it out handled most vets. God I love those 3rd gens. I hope after I move I can pick one up to work on and fix up.
BTW that looks like the Formula not the Trans Am. Trans Am didn't have those holes behind the front tires and had the heavy rubberized spoiler on the back hatch.
Great video as always fellers. I know you have plans after the clear coat but just wanted to point out that you didn't mask the brakes, nor mention why you didn't. I think it would have improved the content a bit to mention that and if the clear you sprayed in the engine bay will effect the rubber belts/hoses. I might just be splitting hairs. Still I appreciate everything you Scott's do to entertain us! Stay strong and keep pumping out great content buddy!
Hope all is well i dont think scott has noticed but I’ve called him blister every since this video 😂👍 just been hanging around for new content happy holidays 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
With ACU trousers on and triceps that look like they have seen many push-ups, it makes me wonder if Scott Sr. was in the National Guard or Active Duty at some point
A sponge sander (basically a brink of foam that’s textured like sand paper) works just as well, except all of that grime doesn’t get in your hands. And ain’t once have those failed on me.
What do you think so far? I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!
Scott ² love the father-son dynamics, you guys are a great team thanks for another great video!
Ya great vid
Can't wait to see the finish Scotts!!!
You guys are great..
Like Mr. Scott said, "keep on keeping on".
I think I need an update on the ballistic bandit.
Scott should mention Kentucky Customs more often in Kentucky Ballistics, people gotta know about this channel
For real!
Thanks Scott and Blister for inviting us over to watch. Amazing that it is flat black under there. Looking great.
Kentucky Kustoms may have been created by Scott, but it is 💯% Pa Scott's show. The man is a genius of car detailing. I never even _imagined_ using brake cleaner to dissolve old glue.
I love these series, makes me miss my father.
Wish me and my dad did stuff like this together
Me too
I third that sentiment.
@@singgs19 at least you had one
Man ur dad should have started him a channel years ago with his passion of working on cars he would have already had a million subs. 👍🏻👍🏻
I agree . Make your pops his own channel .
@@jrmartinez2083 yea
Definitely, I was thinkin' the same thing. Guy is a natural on camera, in his element.
I 100% agree
These series with your father remind me and probably many of us how we learned to do these things as kids. Both your channels remind me of my childhood and that’s why I’ll always be a fan of Kentucky Ballistics/ Customz.
I'm sure it's going to be a really nice car when you're done. Good to see Scott Sr. getting very comfortable doing these videos.
It's awesome seeing what a good time you have with your Dad, and he's teaching you good skills
Scott sr is such a good father. It's beautiful to see!
I love reading the comments as much as the videos! It's like watching an audience overflowing with happy faces!
My favorite part is the cat. It's no no don't talk to the camera I need love and I need it now! Great job on the car guys!
it shows its the little things that makes a man happy thanks for bringing the old back to new
Scott Sr needs to start his own channel! Love the guy.
Digging the music choice on this video. It fits well with the era of the car.
Good job guys. That finish looks awesome. Preparation sucks but it’s worth it in the end 👍
Love this channel! It's great to see Scott and his dad have fun
I live in Arizona I was told the hot sun burn the clear coat off unless you keep it waxed
Wow that looks nice thanks for letting us see that process
I would love to come and spend a weekend with you guys and maybe you could vynal wrap my car for an episode. 😏
Love watching the two of you guys and your comical digs at one another, great father-son relationship!
Love the build you put about 9 more coats of clear then they did from the factory
I have to say Senior Pops should have had his YT channel the man has a special gift.
Y'all are Awesome ..😎such good times and a project with dad is the best part . really cool car. One of my favorites . Keep up the great videos and the great job . 🇺🇸
I am gonna call him Blister coz he shows up when the work is done! lmao.
Gonna have to remember this one 😆
I've said that for years.. thought I was the only person that said that.. LOL

Wish my dad had been this cool and enjoyed spending time with his son 🤷🏻♂️
LMFAO!!! Scotts new name is BLISTER!!! LOVE IT!!! 🤣🤣🤣🔥🔥🔥
Y'all got a beautiful dynamic and God bless your time wasn't up Kentucky. Thank you for these Badass videos
I learn so much from Scott Sr. I know painting and detailing techniques and great dad jokes!
It’s quite awesome you lads kick it old school and do projects in the driveway.
Congrats man. Its really good to see you and your Dad working. Keep the Content going.
Higgins
S&S Team is doing a wonderful job on that beauty! Can't wait for next part! 💕
Not being a Debbie downer but cherish these moments with your dad if give up my whole arsenal for the opportunity to do this with my pops.

we enjoyed the dad and son duo very much!
Trans am looks a lot like the old corvettes. My dad used to have a tram am when I was a kid. Such a dope car
80's body style Camaro/T/A/Firebird was the 'po boy 'Vette!!
Scott: The most important part is clear coat. Also Scott: Lets Scott try clear coating XD
I was thinking that!! 🤙🏼😂
man your Dad is good at what he does
yall are an awesome team!!!
Kentucky blister lmao I love that pops has become a big part of the channel
Man I wish you guys had time to put out like three videos a week on each channel. You are so humble and your content is great and family friendly. keep up the great content men and Scott how can I get in touch with you I have something I think you would be very interested in testing some ammo on.
That nickname is going to come in handy at work, also I was terrified that the wind would kick up some leaves and send them for that clear coat.
I think I need to paint an AR with that camo pattern. Its pretty sweet.
I'm amazed at how the engine bay came out.
Man great job! I love watching these videos!! Keep em coming!
Surprised you didn't have leaves blowing into your paint job. It looked kinda breezy that day.
I just started watching this channel and dude it's just as awesome as Kentucky Ballistics.
Looking GOOOD BOYZ! I work at a body shop and this channel is AWESOME!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK SCOTTS !!
Makes me miss my dad too!! Keep kicking booty boys
Nice windy day for spray painting in the open..maybe you should have taped up your house too..🤣🤣
I love the Kentucky custom channel y'all are a fun family to watch God bless from oregon
Loads of guns in this video 💪
Holy shit! Your dad's arms are friggin jacked!
No filter water seperator on the compressor? also no wet sanding between coats of clear?
Love trans ams so much awesome cars
Cool car man
I’m with you man, sanding sucks
love it to see the interaction you two have, and then it is just so entertaining keep it coming
Man, I love Kustoms, earn so much how to work on vehicles! Do not worry Scott the Ballistics man and Scott that air compresser says masculinity!
Can’t wait to see the finished product!
Gonna find you guys if I ever find a new truck... you guys can have fun doin' it up!
I put the first coat on wet, far less orange peel that way. Two coats and you're done, or three if you want to scuff and buff.
But I'm typically putting it on top of base coat, so the chances of chemical reactions are slim to none.
Still looks better than it did though!
your four legged snooperniser is doing a awesome job. making sure he's doing it right, which is the Scott way !!
I actually like this channel as much as Kentucky ballistics.
What a great dad 👍
Welcome to big Scott and the blister ..... sounds good to me know that the cars are handled by dad
Hi Scott and Scott! While watching another TH-cam channel I came up with a great idea for your next project car.Strip it down to bare metal, gun blue it, then clear coat it. You could also feature it on Kentucky Ballistics. I know it would be slot of work, but how cool would that be?!?
Everytime I watch these videos it boggles my mind your dad is bigger than you. 💪💪 Rock on guys
Fun fact about the 3rd gen F-Bodies. It took GM another 25 years to build cars that could handle better than them. Cool video. This is interesting about something I know nothing about.
God bless all here.

Stop making me miss my 88 trans with these vids lol
It looks awsome you guys are so much fun to watch.
Hope all is well i dont think scott has noticed but I’ve called him blister every since this video 😂👍 just been hanging around for new content happy holidays 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Blister! I'm so gonna use that.
Sweet!!! That's gonna look awesome when it's done.
Love the car man big fan of Kentucky kustums and Kentucky Ballistics
I hate sanding 2 brother, u do good work I know that much. Clear coat makes it pop. I think u put 7 coats on it cause it nice an glassy
i think ......you gonna like this so much, you gonna build a shop with couple 2 post lifts for you guys to work in😁
watching this later! excited!
Get a power sander. You should absolutely take the bumpers and trim off to paint them
With ACU trousers on and triceps that look like they have seen many push-ups, it makes me wonder if Scott Sr. was in the National Guard or Active Duty at some point
Ijs, Scott Sr. Just said in the most recent Kentucky Kustoms video that he reads the comment. Is there and truth there, SGT or Sir?
Cant wait for the next part
Never did I know the terminator was Scott Sr. Just came over from KB awesome vids
You seem to have an excellent father son relationship
Looking great!!
A sponge sander (basically a brink of foam that’s textured like sand paper) works just as well, except all of that grime doesn’t get in your hands. And ain’t once have those failed on me.
Scott you need to build your dad a dream shop he needs one
Chomping at the bits baby ! Good job guys! 😍🤩😘😋😛😜🤪
I wish I could do something like this with my dad one day, but we don't no much about car restoration
The best clear coats are PPG Concept 2020, and Matrix.
Maybe try and get another compressor that’s junk . Take comp off and plumb to good comp. will give more air volume for a smoother finish
Looking awesome
Let’s go blister
Great content by you both
nooo damnit i want a live stream i love watching him do this
Scott's like a blister, lol!!!
It still makes me laugh, Scott Snr biceps are bigger than my torso 😁👍
respirator,clear will hurt you..even outside
Isocyanates aren't good for the lungs.
Those fender vents pop out. They are held in by clips.
You and your Dad should create a "tactical" off-road moped so you can pull up to videos like Dwight Goodman and Michelle from Dodgeball lmao.
Dang Scott Sr has a set of guns
I'm surprised you don't use some kind of power sander at least for the big flat sections.
