Thanks Dave ,glad you are back in the saddle again ,we missed your ride outs. Not a good situation regarding parts for Royal Enfield, let us hope it is sorted quickly before it damages customer confidence. Nice to see the BM though.Ride safe and keep an eye out for oil patches.
Very Interesting Dave, Its surprising how many different lines and styles there are when you look and don't know the reasoning behind it. Very informative
Hi Robert, thanks for the comment, there are loads of them, and when you bring in the different colours of cats eyes as well it's like reading a book laid out on the road. I'm making some rider tips videos and they keep making an appearance in different films. Ride safe, Dave
YET another interesting video Dave, always wondered about different lengths of white lines, now I know, I did know of the hazard arrows, just shows how much we read the Highway Code, or even remember what we read. Cheers DINO and TEAM.
Cheers Dino, I'm working on some rider tips videos and white lines and cats-eyes keep making an appearance in them. It's good getting out again on the BMW but it hasn't got the character of the Classic 350. I went out on it last weekend and it chucked it down. Don't get too hot over there, Keep you and the team safe, Dave
This situation with MotoGB and Royal Enfield doesn't do the brand any good. I had issues with my Himmy getting replacement switchgear under warranty and this was long before RE announced they were taking full control. I am a new subsciber and came across your channel as a TH-cam recommendation. I spend a lot of my free time riding in the Peak District on my himmy just taking in the views. I think the Peak District has some of the best Cafes around and some truly stunning scenery.
Hi, thanks for subscribing, welcome onboard. I think one of the reasons RE decided to take over was to make the parts issue better. It's unfortunate that it happened to my bike during the switchover. I love riding in the Peak District, two of my all time fav coffee stops, Fairholmes and Penny Pot in Edale. Ride safe, Dave
@@thatblokeonamotorbike I'll try the Penny Pot next time . I've tended to use either the Yondermans, Old Smithy or Grindleford or fish and chips at Matlock Bath.
Hi Pete, the lines are very useful, I'm in the middle of filming a series about rider tits and the wines make another appearance in a few of them. Ride safe, Dave
What a bummer Dave I suppose in these modern times no-one carries stock anymore like the good old days good job you have the BMW to fall back on not a good showing by RE though. Ride safe Martin
Nice to see you riding again Dave. Sorry to hear the problems you are still having with your Classic. Very interesting subject you brought up. Enjoy riding.
I hated the 1150's servo linked brakes when I test rode one when they came out. There was something annoyed me on the 1200 too .. and the 1250 is just ugly. So I'm still riding my R1100RT, bought 1/10/1995. Just got a new WOF (I guess that's your "MOT") on it today, no problems.
very informative and well explained Dave thanks, More drivers should learn and understand white lines and lane markings to make the roads a safer place.
Hi, I agree, they do give lots of vital information. One of the cheapest things that can contribute to road safety is keep the lines painted. Ride safe, Dave
Thanks for the info about the roads. Hopefully I can actually ride them someday! Btw, Dr. Maturin is a fictional character in Patrick Obrian's series of novels about the early nineteenth-century British Navy. I liked the series so much I took that for a TH-cam handle. My name is actually Pete Crum.
Wow Pete, thank you so much for your support, it will go towards making more content that yuo will hopefully find entertaining and useful. Ride safe, Dave
Cheers Dave. Good video once again. By the looks of it, you were 2 minutes from mine. You should have popped in for a ☕. Good luck with everything RE. Tom
Great to see the videos are back!! Such a shame RE haven’t got their house in order with the spares situation. If the outcome of a forced steering lock causes that damage, they need to ensure they’ve got parts to fix it and get people back on the road. It might be someone’s only means of transport. Good luck and look forward to more videos. Regards Dave
Hi Dave, I had some good news from the dealer over the weekend. RE are sending the parks needed over from India so fingers crossed it should be back on the road soon. I agree they need to get it sorted asap of people will start to lose confidence and that will feed into the hands of those who say RE are not worth bothering with. And as we know it's totally the opposite. Ride safe, Dave
Great video as always. Since we've been on the questions about road markings and their meanings in the UK, what are the zig-zagged side of the road markings indicating I usually see in towns?
Hi, there are white and yellow zigzags .white are at pedestrian crossings and yellow where other restrictions are in place such as schools and play areas. They both generally mean the same. You MUST NOT park within the zigzags You MUST NOT overtake within the zigzags And if filtering you MUST NOT pass the lead vehicle stopped at the crossing. So if filtering in stationary traffic you can filter to the back of the car that is stopped to keep the crossing clear l, but must not continue to filter until that vehicle moves off. Hope this helps, ride safe, Dave
I'm pleased to see someone taking the initiative regarding these road markings, because not everyone studies the dreaded highway code. ( Takes me back to my working days!) As well changing out of soggy leathers, are you sure you didn't need clean underwear after the slippery slidery corner? Nice informative video again Dave, cheers. 👍
Cheers Martin, You're right about the Highway Code, if more drivers bothered to look at it, it would be a safer place. It did step out a bit, but funny enough, it didnt bother me at all, I went back and it was, shall we say, muck from a tractor. Hows the progress with your back doing. Ride safe, Dave
Hi Ian, I had some news this week that RE are sending the parts needed over from India so fingers crossed it should be sorted in the next few weeks. Ride safe, Dave
@@thatblokeonamotorbike that’s good then…….but they really should have had a UK based centre sorted, before sacking MotoGB. That was a bit silly, to say the least. 🙄
Hello Thank you for the video. I 'm riding a BMW 1150 RT - 2003. I 'm suffering a lack of rear vision in the mirrors. I 'm interested to get your feed back on the two additional mirrors you add. Are you happy with that ? Where can 'i get the same ? Regards

Hi Martin, you're right, they all use the "just in time" method of stock now. Which is ok if they can get the parts there "just in time"

I always used to think ' more paint-more danger'. Simplistic, but then so am I!😆
Hi, it is simplistic, but it works, more paint more danger. Local councils would not spend money on paint if it wasn't needed. Ride safe, Dave
