  • Sydney is the starting point of our Australia adventure. What a city! Though this is an urban video, nature is never far in Sydney with its many parks and trees . Join us on Episode 22 of #back2backpacking to see historic monuments such as the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge. And also to meet feathered friends in the botanical garden. We finished at the famous Bondi beach. your comments are welcome!

The Danish architect, Jørn Utzon, said he was inspired by the curves of a long orange peel, that created loops. He won the design competition.
Probably, the similarities to the sails on boats on the harbour won him the prize.
No connection to Dutch hats or Spanish helmets.

yeah, but that's the thing about art, it inspires you to find different interpretations!

The Rocks are the sandstone buildings and brick buildings at the southern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The stairways were carved out of the rocks. It just a few colonial era streets, that now have tourists shops, pubs and cafes.

That looks like a cockatoo in the tree.
Kakadu is a National Park area in the Northern Territory.
Oh I see you found the bird’s description. We don’t generally call the bird a Kakadu in Sydney because it would be confusing as we use Kakadu for the NT park region.

Yes, we understood that only later. The bird is called kakadu in German and Hebrew, and we now realize it is called Cockatoo in English!

@@back2backpacking if you align all the " sails " together they form a sphere, the concept came from the segments of an orange.

The opera house desighn in the roof sections are like slices of oranges if you put all the roofs togeather you will end up with a circle . And all the tiles are modular sections to that can be replaced if needed. Its actually in the history of the opera house and the dutch desighner that won a competition for the desighn of sydney opera house. It is a beautiful city and Australia is the best country/ continent in the world.😊👍🇭🇲🦘👋

Your friend wanting your sandwich is an ibis and we call them bin chickens as they are everywhere and like to get in bins for food scraps.

Thankyou for gracing us with your visit and welcome from Yuin first nations people (NSW South coast). Hopefully the autumn chill isn't too cold and if you are blessed with sunny days Sydney is ringed by national parks with some beautiful walking trails. It's the perfect time to get into the bush for a walk, it's not too hot and the snakes have gone to bed for their long sleep until next spring. Just if you're a bit apprehensive after hearing or reading about our so called killer wildlife take it from someone who knows, it's all exaggerated hype that couldn't be further from the truth. Even in summer you have a better chance of seeing a UFO than you do if seeing a snake or venomous spider. They are more scared of us than we are of them. Snakes will be gone before you even know one was there and you will only see a spider if you go looking for one so enjoy the experience and look out for the variety of different plants and wildlife you might see, not for anything that might jump out and bite you. The only thing that might bite you will be some of the prices you have to pay, especially alcohol.
