Great video. Thermometers are a great tool for getting started. Grilling, smoking and the flat top griddle. But they are a lot like training wheels. The sooner you pull them off the better. You begin to use your other senses, sound, smell and the feel of the heat when you hold your hand above the cooking surface. It's kinda like the "force". Thermometers can deceive you. You must reach out "feel" what your cooker is doing. FYI, I was at a store earlier today and helped a fellow with his decision on a flat top. I highly recommended he check out your channel. He was very grateful. You have a great day 🌤 😀.
I just got done making this Egg roll bowl and it was the BOMB!!!! It was easy and fun to make and supper quick too! This is something I would make once a week for sure! Thank you sir! And thank you for your service!
I made this for the first time. I did it with diced up chicken. I decided to experiment, I wrapped the filling in a couple of flour tortillas and shallow fried them in a skillet. They came out so good, my wife made me roll up the rest of it.
I've been waiting to see your take on this. I found out about this early this summer and it has become a staple at my house, I've done it with ground turkey, beef as well as breakfast sausage it's always a hit. Next time will be with chorizo, ground pork and some more mexican/southwestern seasoning served in a burrito wrapper or maybe just soft taco's the possibilities are endless.
Bro you and your wife inspired me to start cooking more meals. The quality of the videos have come a long way by the way, great job on making it easy to follow…. Clean as you go
There ya go! Just like my comment when you moved that chicken thigh. “Listen to the Griddle”! Excellent advise for noobs like me! Another great vid guys! 👍🏻😁🙏🏻
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this video. I make this all the time in a skillet and love it! Excited to try it on my griddle now! (for those of you that aren't aware, eating this can cause some GI issues the next morning wink wink!)
We love this dish, but I haven’t tried it on the flat top yet. I like to use half hot sausage and half ground chicken. I also like to add a little bit of Hoisin Sauce, but of course that wouldn’t be Keto friendly. I’m pretty new to your channel, and I’m loving your content!
I make this often it always gets devoured .....only thing I do different is I use ground pork and I add a little hoisin sauce.....I also add a dash of rice vinegar , I've never tried mirin before....love your videos guys....I'm really enjoying the your Facebook page also
@@TheFlatTopKing Thanks man.....I love trying new things...my confidence has really increased from watching your channel, Todd, Hungry hussy, and the waltwins
All I could think of was bust some eggs in all of that goodness. Been using our electric skillet to make our crack slaw in the kitchen. Going to be doing it this way from now on. Seems like I'm always adding and tweaking the recipe. Crack slaw is a tasty and healthy meal any time, any day.
Absolutely....great way to really incorporate vegetables in a different way...and with the same recipe and by tweaking it you can always add and take away for new flavors
@@TheFlatTopKing we’ve made breakfast crack slaw, seafood slaw, used brisket, pulled pork, leftover steak, only limited by your imagination. Fairly new to the Blackstone griddle, will be watching more of your videos 👍👍👍
I am curious about something. Are you a cook by trade? Is cooking your main occupation? Thanks. I really enjoy all of your videos. You are my favorite of all the flat top cooks.
Well quick long story...I would say self taught with experience and help...let me explain 1. I love cooking...since I was a young boy. 2.Joined the NAVY and was a cook..was accepted to White HOuse to cook but was to young for the position, Camp David called and said hey we can get you here faster..so I was on my way there...well the Pentagon Sec of Def Donald Rumsfeld staff called and asked if I wanted to go there... Got out of the NAVY.. Opened a franchise then another..6 years.. Moved to Wyoming and became a Steak Chef at an incredible steak house..Wyomings Oldest Bar...Miners and Stockmans...cooked there for a year.. All that and I decided NOT to do it for a living..to many nights and weekends away from my family..Now I cook what I want and that still calms my craving for cooking
@@TheFlatTopKing Tried the egg roll in a bowl tonight. Easy cook and better yet, it was an excellent meal. Thanks! My only alteration was adding sliced figs as I cut the heat. We have a tree loaded and looking for ways to use them. It added a bit of sweetness, interesting contrast to the soy sauce.
@@TheFlatTopKing Just made this. Was very good. Put it in lettuce like wrap then tried cabbage leaf. Works well either way. Definitely needed Sriracha but can add to taste after cooked.
Absolutely correct...dont scrape, because it will bring the grease with ya...just move then scrape...of put the beef in a place that allows the oil to naturally separate from the meat and then scrape the oil and not the beef
hey my wife does this but hers is called a de-constructed egg roll....she has only done in cast iron Dutch oven....usually in small batches...i need a bigger flattop. the one i have is for 2 burners on a range top. maybe once finances get a little better i'll get an upgrade.
I made this almost exactly as shown, but I'll be honest and say I was not a fan. It was very plain at first so I added a few more spices and sauces but then it got watery so I had to cook it down more but the flavor didn't really improve plus the texture was never pleasant. I ended up throwing the rest out.
WOW...yeah..adding sauce would have been worse...its the moisture to cabbage ratio..typically is dryer for that reason...the sausage should have carried more flavor with notes of soy and garlic.
Sorry, but we do not do Fakebook or any of the other like "social" media sites. BUT love watching you "griddle"!!!
I completely understand...thanks for your support Ralph

Super colorful, and such a great tip about spreading out the cabbage. So much nicer than cooking it in a cramped skillet👍😊
thanks Bobbi
Going to make this when we go camping next week.
I'm going to make this and soon. Great cook as always.
Hope you enjoy
Made it last week and it was sooo gooood.

Good combo of ingredients. I can handle it. Pass the bowl.

Wow that's a lot of veggies!
healthy...

Thats why I told Amy I didnt want to make it...its just done so often that surely people have seen it or know about it..
Very cool, thank you!
Wow! Love this!
I make something like that as well. I put green and red bell peppers with smoked sausage and it’s awsum
yeah sounds great
it is even better when you use fresh products
Broccoli slaw works great also.
