great replay Jingles. I think that's the most medals I've ever seen earned in one battle. As for the vulnerable files, if you're hard up for replays consider opening your risky files on a isolated machine with no sensitive date or connection to your network. Do your editing there, and then save it and port it over to your normal machine on a thumb drive. I'm not a security expert, but that my do the trick.
Hi Jingles, I started watching your WoT tech tree playthrough back in the day and those were my favorite videos to watch everyday. I still enjoy game commentaries, I am not missing any of your videos, but I think it would be really cool if you would do a WoW tech tree playthrough 😎
If they can do whatever they want, they can easily make it infectious to other replay files on your PC, or even set up a background process that will re-infect every new replay file that is created. Not even the "trusted ones" are safe. And formatting your hard drive is the least of your problems. Installing malware in the background while you're distracted with the replay.

@The Mighty Jingles, you should use a Sandbox or a virtual machine to open and check the replays if the exploit isn't patched soon. That way if anything happens, it's just in a virtual environment that can be deleted. No harm done to you files or computer and they can't access any of your personal stuff.
I would love to see your own replays again. It makes people who play the game that are normal/average feel less bad about themselves. Since you only show "the best" videos, they feel out of reach for the less good player. Besides, I think it would be more authentic. That doesn't mean that it should be only your replays, but you should consider adding some to the mix.
You could ask replay senders to send them as a video, letting the senders open their own replays and record them. Saves you the risk, since I think the issue is only with replays not videos. Hopefully that helps.
I know in one of your videos you said you were going to start featuring subscribers uploads from there on waaayyyy back in the day. I actually missed seeing your replays sometimes, so without a doubt I’m pretty sure the rest would like to see your gameplay!
Jingles this is why I always send you my client server shortcut Icon. It's never been downloaded to a computer to be compressed or etc... and thereby can't be altered or affected by my computer. It's a "shortcut icon" that only opens in/via the WoW server itself. Maybe ask WoW about this to verify so we can continue to send you videos that you aren't afraid to open.
I'd be curious how someone figured the vuln in the replays out. Only thing I know is that db could easily alter battle results in WoT replay files since the data is stored in JSON format that can be manipulated with a hex editor. Speaking of, I'd not be surprised if WoT is also affected by this.
Jingles look into using another copy of Windows 10 within virtual machine software such as Virtualbox then if anything happens you just delete the virtual machine Windows file and create another one :-)
Schieffen has a unique feature. You might be 10km away from a bb, shoot at it, turn your eyes elsewhere, and the shells magically vanish, scoring 0 dmg. It's the only ship that has this feature to my knowledge.
Sry to hear bout that jingles that sucks 😕 I hope they resolve it soon , still wish you could have seen the greats battle ship torp dodge at like point blank range it is posted on the wows website ages ago lol 😆
oh jingles... dont give yourself so much crap. even if it is your own replays we will still watch. I for one watch to listen to your voice it soothes me
*JINGLES* I have been a subscriber since about 2016. I was the person who begged for the Tiger P replay. I come here for your commentary. Post your replays see how it goes
hello jingles, i have seen in the comments the recommendations for you to use a Virtual machine to safely so i will not add much to that. instead i would like to prpose the alternative of using an external hard drive that you install ,your OS,WoWs, and your recording software and use it exclusively from there. it should be far less painful to setup than a VM.
regarding the security vulnerablity of WOWS replay files: consider using a VM to open the files. A configured VM will ensure that no harm can be done to your computer or its contents. Its a pain to set up, sure... but its your livlehood that partially depends on uploading replay videos.
The thing about Trashitaka is that the ship is horrific however the guns are amazing. The ship used to be unplayable when it was introduced. However WG decided to boost sales by altering the guns. They gave her Amagi shells + pre-nerf Amagi despersion. This made that ship , the best sniper of the mid tiers. The shells just go wherever you aim them.
Also adding my own voice, too long has it been since we've seen the Rear Admiral in action himself! I don't care if it's *terri-bad* gameplay that's absolutely awful, in fact that might be even better! You don't have to be the best player arround for it to be worthwhile for us to watch you play a couple of matches, especially if you can take a joke and poke some fun at yourself, and we all know you're no stranger to doing that, which just makes it entertaining to watch.
I got Ashitaka out of a supercontainer. Figured I'd give it a try. Definitely has all the bad qualities you say but if you do manage to work around them... yeah this is the result. Very satisfying.
Hi Jingles about this replay thing if they don't fix it quickly what you could do is just open the files on a stand alone so what i mean is a computer that has no info about you and dose not have access to any of your important files. So if the files do contain bad stuff they can't go anywhere just that computer ok you may loose a computer but that's all.
I miss the Kraken Unleashed video segment you used to insert when someone got a kraken. I'd love to see mockingly distorted Krakens when you announce their second or third kraken award of the game :-p
If I may offer a suggestion, maybe you could try to run something like a virtual machine to run the WoWS replays through until they fix the security issues? At the very least, if something breaks, you could just have a copy of the VM ready that is easily replaceable.
@@jonathanmills127 No, because it's WoWS's replay format that has the flaw. Other than making players record the gameplay themself, there's no way to get around this replay bug.
@@jonathanmills127 To have to played record the playthrough... maybe by using Twitch or use some recording software then send the video I suppose. If he goes down that route, he'll probably have some ground rules for what would be acceptable. The virtual machine (VM) is more tricky finding the software you like, having the hardware to run the VM., and getting it setup. Once you get that all good, there's not much you have to worry about. Jut backup the VM disk and you're gravy if you need to restore it.
hey jingles if you want to play replay files without risking your pc then start up a vm aka virtual machine then send the replay file to it and play it
To fix your replay risk. Run a virtual system, open replay in the virtual system and off you go. Done in no time and even if you get a manipulated replay, you just reset the virtual system and no harm done. Does not even cost you anything to do it, besides some time.
Many people suggested using a separate laptop or a virtual machine. But both those solutions are an additional cost. Laptop must be powerful enough to run WoWS smoothly together with recording software. You can get VM software for free, but must have a separate Windows license. And I'm not sure if can get a good quality video from WoWS running on VM. Did anybody try that? If so, on what hardware, and what fps did you get on what WoWS settings?
If you worried about viruses or scripts you could run the replay in a virtual desktop, then it will be isolated and cannot harm your main PC. I'm not an expert though.

Oh, there once was a hero named Ragnar the Red.Who came riding to Whiterun from ole Rorikstead. And the braggart did swagger and brandish his blade. As he told of bold battles and gold he had made. But then he went quiet, did Ragnar the Red.When he met the shieldmaiden Matilda who said :Oh, you talk and you lie and you drink all our mead. Now I think it's high time that you lie down and bleed. And so then came clashing and slashing of steel. As the brave lass Matilda charged in full of zeal. And the braggart named Ragnar was boastful no more. When his ugly red head rolled around on the floor. And the braggart named Ragnar was boastful no more. When his ugly red head rolled around on the floor.
Ah Jingles it's been a while since you executed a dissident. Keep up the good work Sir.
Jingles on a Friday morning. Can't get better!
Your games would be fine jingles. The commentary is why we're here
@The Mighty Jingles, you should use a Sandbox or a virtual machine to open and check the replays if the exploit isn't patched soon. That way if anything happens, it's just in a virtual environment that can be deleted. No harm done to you files or computer and they can't access any of your personal stuff.
He finally snapped! I have been waiting for Jingles to go get the shotgun!
Agreed. And it's not like we don't laugh at his mistakes anyway. And he's been taking it in good stride for years.
Hey I watched this replay from top tier yesterday it’s a really good showcase of how deadly the ship can be
Great replay, I have watched it three times to catch all the action towards the end.
Jingles, the vids don't have to showcase good games all the time, they just have to be entertaining. I'm sure your gameplay is QUITE entertaining!
Howdy Jingles, great videos man.
Thanks for the warning!
Better not to upload replays until it is Patched
Well jingles you could always do ship reviews or show us your skills and give us a laugh
Video Title: Open at Your Own Risk
Me with zero self preservation: *furiously clicking on the video*
I'd be curious how someone figured the vuln in the replays out.
Only thing I know is that db could easily alter battle results in WoT replay files since the data is stored in JSON format that can be manipulated with a hex editor.
Speaking of, I'd not be surprised if WoT is also affected by this.
I've done some tests and it's got the same weakness same with world of planes but no one cares about wop
Yeaaaah, that was amazing and really fun to watch. You don't have that too often, like every thousandth match?
I'd love to watch replays of your games, I'm sad i missed out on getting the Jingles commander in game
Great game - I can only dream & aspire... Thanks for posting it Jingles!
Jingles look into using another copy of Windows 10 within virtual machine software such as Virtualbox then if anything happens you just delete the virtual machine Windows file and create another one :-)
“Do not open any World of Warships replays, except your own.”
Hackers: Well, i ain’t gonna Rick Roll myself.
jingles be purging corrected statements like the inquisition be exterminatus-ing planets.
I for one watch to listen to your voice it soothes me
We would watch your own battles Jingles. Just for the laughs alone. And you should!
LOVE that HTML5 thing that added for vid files.
*JINGLES* I have been a subscriber since about 2016. I was the person who begged for the Tiger P replay. I come here for your commentary. Post your replays see how it goes
Morning Minor Jangles. Wargaming never change.
hello jingles, i have seen in the comments the recommendations for you to use a Virtual machine to safely so i will not add much to that.
instead i would like to prpose the alternative of using an external hard drive that you install ,your OS,WoWs, and your recording software and use it exclusively from there. it should be far less painful to setup than a VM.
So "cameraminion Eddie" has become "goodfriend Eddie"! Congratulazion!
Love seeing both port and starboard secondaries firing at the same time. Bristlie!!!
regarding the security vulnerablity of WOWS replay files: consider using a VM to open the files. A configured VM will ensure that no harm can be done to your computer or its contents.
Its a pain to set up, sure... but its your livlehood that partially depends on uploading replay videos.
Only so long as you're isolating it from your host operating system and local area network.

Ok jingles, we ain’t gonna let this one slide either
The thing about Trashitaka is that the ship is horrific however the guns are amazing. The ship used to be unplayable when it was introduced. However WG decided to boost sales by altering the guns. They gave her Amagi shells + pre-nerf Amagi despersion.
This made that ship , the best sniper of the mid tiers. The shells just go wherever you aim them.
Jingles: "I may run out of World of Warships videos."
[ War Thunder enters chat ]
Is that a threat old man? I shall open it regardless!
edit: I tought it was a carrier replay, but it is actually a serious thing, sorry Jingles!
I'm guessing there is something in an XML file on the replay files doing some injection. Might be able to inspect the files for tampering.
I got Ashitaka out of a supercontainer. Figured I'd give it a try. Definitely has all the bad qualities you say but if you do manage to work around them... yeah this is the result. Very satisfying.
May have been some other container actually but either way.
Jingles actually Jingled faster than I could
Hi Jingles about this replay thing if they don't fix it quickly what you could do is just open the files on a stand alone so what i mean is a computer that has no info about you and dose not have access to any of your important files. So if the files do contain bad stuff they can't go anywhere just that computer ok you may loose a computer but that's all.
that was the most awesome battleship replay I have personally ever seen
I miss the Kraken Unleashed video segment you used to insert when someone got a kraken. I'd love to see mockingly distorted Krakens when you announce their second or third kraken award of the game :-p
I won't mind see some WOSWS ship reviews/history lessons like you use the do back in beta.
If I may offer a suggestion, maybe you could try to run something like a virtual machine to run the WoWS replays through until they fix the security issues? At the very least, if something breaks, you could just have a copy of the VM ready that is easily replaceable.
Could he get replays saved into a different video format (one which wouldn't support the bug)?
@@jonathanmills127 No, because it's WoWS's replay format that has the flaw. Other than making players record the gameplay themself, there's no way to get around this replay bug.
@@Firestorm2900 Is there a straightforward way to do that?
@@jonathanmills127 To have to played record the playthrough... maybe by using Twitch or use some recording software then send the video I suppose. If he goes down that route, he'll probably have some ground rules for what would be acceptable.
The virtual machine (VM) is more tricky finding the software you like, having the hardware to run the VM., and getting it setup. Once you get that all good, there's not much you have to worry about. Jut backup the VM disk and you're gravy if you need to restore it.
A meme review of jingle themed memes would be fun
this match was just crazy! What a show!
hey jingles if you want to play replay files without risking your pc then start up a vm aka
virtual machine then send the replay file to it and play it
We need the warships version of the jingles landing! That can only happen when we get jingles playing warships with us again
To fix your replay risk. Run a virtual system, open replay in the virtual system and off you go. Done in no time and even if you get a manipulated replay, you just reset the virtual system and no harm done.
Does not even cost you anything to do it, besides some time.
Could set up a Virtual Machine and record in that. Basically use it as a black box to isolate the replay from the rest of your system
I suggest virtual box
I was just about to say the same thing! 😝😝😝
I remember years back when that is what I would see off my Montana. Boy has power creep left my beloved artillery platform behind.
"Bang" you opinion is noted best moment in the video
Battle of Narvik, wasn't the submarine sunk by the float plane version of the mighty swordfish in the worlds slowest dive bomb attack?
Depht charge sandwich,,,,, o Jingles never change please :)
