    I have just acquired two similar drill boxes that came with two Fobco bench drills that I won at an auction here in England. Having already viewed your restoration of the boxes I have started restoring the ones I have though as I don't have facilities for sand blasting or powder coating I will just use paint stripper and spray paint. The size legends will also stay original so in all a partial restoration on my part. The bench drills are also being improved.

    Awesome job man ! I'm so happy you did the white lettering. Maybe try powder coating the raised letters white first, letting that cure. doing the whole piece in red. Then wiping off the red on the raised letters with a damp sponge, Before letting the red cure? Either way my favorite thing about channels like yours are watching things grow and get better and better over time. And you're definitely doing that !

    Great job! But you’re right about the letter painting....should have just left it as is. I’ve seen guys spray paint on a block of wood or rubber and then lightly press the letters against it to pick up the wet paint. Might be worth a try.

  • @1966johnnywayne
    @1966johnnywayne 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    OK, that's cool. I'll just have to continue using the Snap-On drill set that I picked up at a yard sale for $5 a few years back as is. I'm not sure how old the set is, except to say that Snap-On was sourcing Osbourn out of Sheffield England for their drills when my set was made.
    If you're bored and want to restore another case, I can loan you one :)
