I know this old but man this channel has really blossomed behind my back. I would need to see if Sam Cast has a demo period to determined what's possible for it.
Great tutorial Roderick, although I cannot use it since my encoder is on a standalone streaming computer connected to a mixer in order to free up the processing and create less problems if the main playing pc goes down (I can quickly play something from another channel). Like the user below then, how can we then use this on a separate pc of the Nowplaying files are not local. off the top of my head was thinking to create a Dropbox folder the streaming pc can use but then I am thinking that the updated file may not be instantly saved and if that slight delay may be problematic. I guess I can try and find out ;)
Share a folder and make sure both PCs can get access to it. Put the Now Playing text file in that folder. Then you can use the Now Playing text file to update the metadata on the 2nd pc

What about for Samcast encoder? And can the out put encoder be on a different computer. I want to use my automation software (vdj) and going out to a mixer then i to line in to the encoder. How can I do that?

Sure it can be any encoder and it can be on another computer.
Can you do this with virtual dj to sam cast encoder? I use virtual dj with an external mixer to sam cast stand alone encoder.
Not sure but I somewhat remember VirtualDJ having the ability to stream but I'm sure even if it didnt you can use stand alone encoders to stream what you are doing through VDJ.
Can I use obs, for streaming audio?
Would it be possible for you to make a tutorial on how to use them together?
And can you PLEASE make a video explaining how to use a midi device / controller within RadioDJ. I have been searching all over on how to connect one up, i have a bunch of different types of midi controllers.
If you use Voicemeeter you could send audio over to OBS because OBS will recognize VM as an audio source.

Billy C hey Billy I have the same issue. I am using winamp on a separate pc. thinking maybe it can work if we use a shared Dropbox folder (as mentioned in my comment above). I will give it a go and see since it will be a small file and hopefully syncs in significant time to be able to be displayed in the player

You should not be using a .bak file. Those type of files are for using the UNDO function in the text editor. Only use .txt files
