A very nice fair review. For me I still like the Classics because of the price you can get them at. Classic vs. AF1 there is a decent price difference.
I got my homie on to ACE trucks and he’s been die hard Indy boi for ages. He was always pushing me to get some Indy’s for this deck and this deck. He got ACES he wants an other pair for another set-up.
they finally made the 60 why ive been holding out. Trying some venture 6.1s on 2 side setups a shape and a really long 8.38x32.75 just to really taste wheelbase. I ordered a "Mystery" box. And the boards both have concave and my usual setup is flat so Dont buy mystery deck boxes unless you want to quiver since you cant choose concave. All the turn hype sounds legit and now they makes the axle size i ride. Probably going to try them on the normal shape i ride to see how tricks feel. Then keep them on a slappy/bowl park deck for the turning. I guess i could drill my own holes in an 8.8 or 9.25 and run the 159 indys for more WB. but havent really tried it. Shaped decks are interesting bc i got the 6.1s with no risers and 56mm. And i had to run risers with 54mm on a normal deck so some shaped decks have wheel Clearnce w.o having to have pre cuts/grooves. With aces since theyre the same height as venture or stage 9/X indys like mine. Ive ridden different looseness/bushings since i quiver so Im really looking forward to how they turn and how fun it feels to ride with them. I dont run flush axle bc my first board back when was a 7.36 with 145 thunders. After that i ran flush for years then saw riley saying he ran big hanger style....and i tried it and liked it. But ace never made 8.75" So i tried ventures for the side setups. The long setup is just for fun. Once you get used to the timing its actually a pretty fun setup for going over lip or if you were skating like a ditch bank wall gap or bank wall into a ledge.
Indy seem heavy because the uncountable number of times people have said they are. If everyone repeats something enough it seems like it has got to be a fact
Nice review 👌 I heard that putting some wax on the wheel-well of the bottom of the deck when skating gaps/drops with loose trucks can help to lessen the wheel bite. I skate tight trucks so I never needed this tip.
Definitely a difference between the classic and AF1 with the break in period. Would love if they made a high so I wouldn’t have to use rider pads with them. Still waiting to see you switch up the wheel shapes and see if your theory about rounder edges locking in better on grinds is true.
I take the bottom washer out to get them looser. If u take top one off the nut will split the bushing and fall apart. I got a pair in 2010. I used to burn through trucks in like 2-3 months. I hated new trucks with a passion. I was an Indy rider since 94. They were just so squirly when u got them super loose. They didn’t turn anymore. I didn’t feel so bad trying them once I found out they were stage 3 indys.
I’m still waiting for their replacement hard bushings. No way I can ride those whipped cream bushings and no other bushings on the market is the same size as Ace’s as far as I know. I was getting wheel bit almost just standing on them.
@@3jsu5 are they the same size though? Ace has some different heights to their bushings. No matter really. I have other trucks to ride and the Ace Hard bushings should find their way to Europe soon enough now that they are selling in the US.
@@6ixspeed304 The more you tighten the more you change the geometry of the truck and the amount of tightening I would have had to do on those bushings would have left them totally mushed out. I got the Ace Hard replacement bushings a few weeks back though and they work so much better for me so problem solved!
hey, matt, would you know if the ace af1 55’s fit flushed on an 8.25 board? i skate venture/indy 8.5 axles on an 8.25 and i love the way they feel. just want to make sure the ace 55’s will work before i get a pair. thanks for the great vids.
Oh no. You’ll want the 44s. Idk how the fuck you missed the chart in the first 1/3 of the video. Unless you want Frankenstein looking trucks, don’t get any larger than an 8.25. Plus, there’s the set of problems people run into when skating a wider set of trucks than their deck width.
@@karsenic6436 its not a creaking sound like most trucks…its a literally click…I’ve never heard it on any other truck…although it doesn’t seem to effect much it just throws me off
ngl you the reason why i started skating ace trucks (ace if you’re watching this sponsor this man)
Picked up a set of AF1 55’s for the Christmas complete. Thanks Matt, always good info.
Af1 have a short wheelbase, that contributes to them feeling light. Great review brother
Ace Af1 are the best trucks. I use them with their hard bushings (94a)…

Love mine but curious about the new hollow kingpin/axle version they are going to release in Spring ☺️ Love ACE!

Great review love the af1 myself
ACE trucks NUMBER 1 TOP 👊🔥🎉
Ayy lesgoo my man Matt finally get sponsored 🤝
Nice review! Are the classics less loose than AF1 if you like to ride more stiff trucks?
I lovee ur vids keep doing the good work✌

i've seen people use krux bushings in the past to solve that problem

his videos are lit
Ace have one of the smallest wheel base of any truck aswell
You should have said moemomma really fast instead of my mom lol

@@ianturnbow7011 honestly it doesn’t matter. As long as you’re not skating like 9” trucks on a 8.25 anything is fine.
love mine but they make mannys difficult thats my only prob
wait bro you live in VA?
i just ordered some ace af1 trucks. i hope they last me at least one year ( i am a broke student )
What size of deck u ridin on this 55?
I want another lurpiv video
What is that song in the beginning tho?
very noice
You got 55s right and what size deck do you ride
He rides 8.5 i believe
@@midgetwes thanks. Rocking the 55s rn w a 8.25 and I love it can’t skate for 6 months now though snapped my ankle at a skate comp :(
What about the classic af1 click sound?! Anyone get that i have two pairs now that click i think at the pivot cup
Wax the pivot cup and the bushings under the washers. Should solve the creak

Check all of your hardware, it is certainly something loose
Its the baseplate kingpin hole being loose. It makes annoying click sound
