For instance, the AI would need to consistently draw the same person the same way on every frame without deviating in it's expressions such as colours, face features etc. Getting it to do that would be challenging. @@ArcanePath360 Yes, just give it all the original sprites, and tell it to create inbetweens to make it smoother. There's no reason AI can't be used to do this if having a person do it would be extremely expensive.

For instance, the AI would need to consistently draw the same person the same way on every frame without deviating in it's expressions such as colours, face features etc. Getting it to do that would be challenging. With such low res sprites it's filling in a lot of gaps with artistic licence. Notice how all the faces are looking at the viewer, not the opponent.
@@ArcanePath360 All you need to do is train the AI. It's not 2014 anymore. Regardless, you can have a human go in and touch it up. If we don't have AI to do this for us, we will never get another 2D animated fighter. Simple as that.
