DO NOT get a Surface of any kind. Seriously, they have 0% upgradeability and worse, 0% reparability. If anything goes wrong with a Surface that prevents it from working, you . are . toast. Nada, that's it, end of show. Sure, if it's under warranty they will send you a new one .. but all your data will be gone and your programs will have to be re-installed. Better back up every day or even twice a day. IF it's no longer under warranty .. yeah .. too bad. Toss it in the garbage and move on.
Macbook? XD. Don't get a MacBook if you're in finance unless you want to get laughed out of your job. Excel work, which is pretty much all of your work, will get incredibly painful and long on a MacBook lol. Thinkpads are your safest bet. I like the XPS as well. Used an XPS before I got a thinkpad. Only thing thinkpad has over the XPS is its keyboard and slightly better battery life.
