פעם שלישית גלידה זה שיבוש של הביטוי באנגלית ״בפעם השלישית אני אצרח״. מי שתרגם פעם סדרות באנגלית לא ממש ידע אנגלית אז הוא תרגם למה שנשמע לו הדומה ביותר.
Alot of programs especially google docs have issues with having Hebrew and english in the same area. It's because the letters are written different ways.

You just can't help smiling watching Gal. Such an amazing person! Love the way she's mixing saying the word in hebrew, translating it directly to english and then explaining the way the word is used to give you an idea of what it "actually" means.
I like how she took control of this at the end and just decided to teach her own slang. Too often I've found a lot of the "slang" terms loaded on the ipads are lacking. I appreciated Gal scrolling through several outdated / unnecessary terms, so as not to waste hers or our time. Much appreciated. Yalla, yalla, yalla.

Ma Ani Ez?” Haha “Tachles”- can also mean Truth. Like I say something like that “dude, animal cruelty is so wrong” so you can say “Tachles” like “true that” Or when a friends says something and you wanna tell him he’s actually right you’d say “Tachles, You’re right” “Pa’am shlishit Glida” can be used to say when sometimes has happened more than twice like if I see the same person twice at the same day and then I saw him again I will say that, and it’s like you owe me glida haha ice cream. I had fun working in Israel years ago. I’ve learned a lot of their language and I loved it. Though it was already more than 10 years, I could still remember and communicate the basics. Looking forward to visit Israel again once the situation is much better. Yom Tov Le kulam

As a hebrew speaker, I'ts so fuuny to watch her struggle to explain all those phrases that have no literally sense :-) :-) :-)
1:42 they didnt write it right at all
פעם שלישית גלידה is the right one
5:11 they wrote it the opposite way
עף עלייך is the right one (for boys)
yep 100%
לפחות הם ניסו
פעם שלישית גלידה זה שיבוש של הביטוי באנגלית ״בפעם השלישית אני אצרח״. מי שתרגם פעם סדרות באנגלית לא ממש ידע אנגלית אז הוא תרגם למה שנשמע לו הדומה ביותר.
😂
Alot of programs especially google docs have issues with having Hebrew and english in the same area. It's because the letters are written different ways.
Crap in juice was my favorite one because it was hilarious I was laughing so hard
Oh wow... this language is so beautiful. I would love to visit Israel and get to know the culture and languages. I love Gal Gadot so much ♡ Perfect Wonder Woman (in movie and real life too)
Trust me it's a great place you would love it
Come visit us when covid is over we want u to come🥰
DO IT! You'll love every minute of it 🥰
Come visit sometimes! Its all question of where. It could be really fun or really annoying.

You just can't help smiling watching Gal. Such an amazing person! Love the way she's mixing saying the word in hebrew, translating it directly to english and then explaining the way the word is used to give you an idea of what it "actually" means.
‘What am I a goat”
America : “what am I chopped liver?”
as a Hebrew speaker I've never heard of this phrase but ok
פשוט מהממת ! כיף שאת מייצגת אותנו בדרך כלכך כיפית ויפה❤️
❤❤❤❤
I like how she took control of this at the end and just decided to teach her own slang. Too often I've found a lot of the "slang" terms loaded on the ipads are lacking. I appreciated Gal scrolling through several outdated / unnecessary terms, so as not to waste hers or our time. Much appreciated. Yalla, yalla, yalla.
One of the most fun to watch videos I’ve ever seen! Gal’s personality is a ray of sunshine in an otherwise pretty dark world. Thank you for this, Vanity Fair!
Gal taught me my first Hebrew phrases lol!! I’m now in Hebrew II!!
I loved this! As a Jew who grew up learning Hebrew and parents speak fluently this was a joy to watch!!
There is a lot of similarities with arabic
We actually use a lot of arabic words as slang, we use it in the same way an arabic speaker would but because it's not a hebrew word it counts as slang.
@@trigger9285 so cool
@@trigger9285 לא קשור לזה, המילים בעברית וערבית דומות. זה שפות אחיות. כמו שאחי בערבית אומרים אחויה, אבא אבו, מלך מאליק וכו'.. הערבית באה מהעברית
@@hibastark2284 yes, but regardless of that Hebrew and Arabic are both Semitic languages so alot of words are similar! Like in Hebrew king is melech and in Arabic Malik, dad is aba in Hebrew and abu in Arabic, yftach/ liftoch, (open), ras/ rosh (head), shams/ shemesh (sun) and alot more. They basically have the same roots

Adorable! Can’t wait to see her and Patty Jenkins team up for Cleopatra. By the way, for all of you bullying Gal for playing Cleopatra even though she’s not Black or Arab, remember that Cleopatra was racially Greek-Macedonian as part of the Greek established Ptolemaic dynasty, learn your history please everyone. If she can play a Greek woman as WW, she can play a Greek woman again.
FINALLY!!!
SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HISTORY CORRECTLY!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TELLING IT LIKE IT IS!!!
PEACE OUT!!!
This whole thing of pretending egyptians are black is made up western bs. Egyptians are darker than caucasians but still whiter than black people. Tired of our middle eastern culture being appropriated by everyone
@@disco_depression Cleopatra was Greek
There’s a similar expression in Swahili about taking it slow. Instead of Para Para, it’s Pole Pole (pronounced polay). Love these videos, her voice, and of course looking at her 🥰
If she was my hebrew teacher, I would be fluent within a week of learning.
i literally speak fluent hebrew and am israeli, but if she was my hebrew teacher i'd be in the honors class lol

Gal Gadot is like the kinda friend that you want to have around everitaem. She's so easy to love~
this is israel
Say this to palestinians
I really appreciate that she gave us both the literal translation, as well as the practical. It weirdly helped me understand what she was explaining much easier
As a Swedish person for me Hebrew sounds like a combination of Arabic and French.
Israeli women are hot! I like the blonde ones, but I like the others to 😊
Ever since seeing her in Wonder Woman, she's taken the crown of most beautiful actor in my book. She also seems so positive. Interesting to hear some of this slang too. Funny how it all translates.
She just radiates happiness and goodness. She’s so naturally stunning.
At 1:00, there’s a very similar saying in Tamil. “Kannu Paduradhu”. It’s kinda the same reason you would “Touch” or “Knock on Wood” for. The motions Gal makes are also familiar. One may crack their knuckles against the head to ward the evil eye off. It’s a small world after all folks.
ישראלים להתאחד ❤
I have been pronouncing her name the French way all this time. As in Bridgette Bardot (Bar-doh). She introduced herself Gal Ga-DOT. I've been saying Ga-Doh all this time
Me too 😄 it makes sense, cause she's not French of course, but I also automatically made the Bardot-connection 😅😄
You are not alone
In Hebrew, all the letters are always pronounced
@@lim7lim א?
for israelis its easier to pronounce. Her name when written in hebrew, is phonetic with a "t" at the end.
I only know how to pray in Hebrew thanks to my grandpa, but I love the language and how it sounds ♡

“Yalla” - it’s “lets go, come on” but also “aw man” like when something strikes out you’ll be like “Ya Alla... “ You say the "Ya" first.. pause a little and then "alla", same word just say it different. you can also say it in different ways haha
“Ma Ani Ez” can also be used like this, when for example you friend tells another friends to come with him and leave you out so you can say to him “what about me?? Ma Ani Ez?” Haha
“Tachles”- can also mean Truth. Like I say something like that “dude, animal cruelty is so wrong” so you can say “Tachles” like “true that”
Or when a friends says something and you wanna tell him he’s actually right you’d say “Tachles, You’re right”
“Pa’am shlishit Glida” can be used to say when sometimes has happened more than twice like if I see the same person twice at the same day and then I saw him again I will say that, and it’s like you owe me glida haha ice cream.
How come they didn’t put SABABA in here!! Haha
But on the board it is written "shlishit ani tsorech" so what give?
@wownouser תודה רבה. אני מדבר רק מעט עברית
Yalla and ya allah are two completely different words with different meanings, and both are arabic words not hebrew
Great additions/comment (although as others noted, Yalla and Ya Alla are not he same).
@wownouser actually it does have to do with god. Muslim warriors added the letter Y (or yud) to the name of their god and used it as a battle cry. The meaning is "I swear in God". Then it went on to become a common phrase for engaging people in anything, such as "Yalla let's finish this scene already" :)
Her laugh is MUSIC😊
Can any native Hebrew speakers confirm: is 'shtuyot bemitz' short for 'shtuyot bemitz agvaniyot'? It's something my Israeli dad used to say a lot
well yes, the "agvaniyot" part means tomatoes, so instaed of an ordinary juice you know have tomatoes juice.
It makes it more funny and nonsensical. not really a short but more of an other way of saying the same thing.
When you want to say that something does not make any sense you can definitely say: what?? that is shtuyot bemitz agvaniyot!
@@afekelimelech3325 תודה אחי, סיפרת את זה מצוין
