Government doing as Government does.
This was really all about development at the point of the mountain where the old prison was. Utah state legislature helping out their own interests as well as the interests of their developer buddies. They don’t care about corrections or rehabilitation of prisoners, if they did, this wouldn’t be a problem. I’d be curious to see what it costs to run this new prison versus the old prison and what rehabilitation programs were available versus the new prison. Then there’s the cost of building the new prison, but now that’s just water under the bridge so to speak.

They are prisoners. They committed a crime or more. They have it better as it is than our own homeless, who many committed no crimes. I have absolutely no sympathy for them.
