- A new Railway for me, with the Branch Line Society, I visited the longest 10¼ gauge railway in the UK, spanning a mile! I must admit, I'd been looking forward to visiting a long miniature railway, with Miniature railways occasionally you can feel the ride is over too soon, but here, no such issue. I had also been intrigued to see the Brighton Belle representations they had on offer here, and I love em! Can't wait to come back and hopefully get a trip on them.
With the BLS, we did every bit of track that can be possibly done, whether it be via loco or people power! Our three locomotives for the day was two Exmoor 0-4-2T 'Doris Hilburn' and 'Jean' as well as a Hymek! We had a visit around the sheds in the morning, so I believe we saw every single locomotive the railway had on site, they certainly had some nice locomotives.
The railway and the site itself is certainly of interest, a mile long miniature railway, as well as an airstrip with a plane belonging to the owner, two other museums are on site, which I never saw, but was told one was related to Bikes. There's even a separate branch line!
