Another great adventure. My backpacking days are over due to my age and neuropathy with a history of covid damage to my lungs. Short hikes are ok. I miss my collection of backpacks, tents and the simple tasks of chopping and processing wood. It's mostly charcoal barbecues and van camping now. Watching your adventures brings back great memories of the past 63 years. Thank you, Luke!
Sucks to hear that but I understand how you feel. I've found myself in a similar situation. Chronic Lymphedemia and permanent nerve damage. So no more biking or backpacking trips for me for the rest of my life. I will be reserved to backyard camping and truck camping. At designated sites. I'm just thankful that I still can actually get out to do any form of camping. Cause I know there's a lot of people out there that can't.😅 👍stay strong.
In all of my years hunting and camping and all of the outdoors camping shows and videos I have never seen anyone that does not place their tent under a tarp to help keep rain and snow from falling directly on top of the tent. I guess you have to reflect that you are some super outdoors man.
It's almost 6am, and I'm watching your camping trip. I have insomnia. Thanks for sharing this with me 😊❤. Hello from Indiana USA and this 62 year old lady 😮😊.
Although Luke replied recently to comments about not putting a tarp over his tent, I've got to question this reasoning especially when the tent has already been weather tested in previous videos. Sorry but calling you out Luke. Now this looked like a fun time in the cold forest, too bad no campfire and a good steak cooked over it. Thanks for the work, great filming and presentation as usual.
Awesome photography but a suggestion: In post, use a 12 DB per octave filter to roll off everything under 100 Hz. Doing so should significantly reduce wind boom and the emergence of other low frequency noise.
This popped up in my feed. I have watched a few of your videos from your channel TOGR. However, I did not sub. But I have subbed to this channel. I suffer from Insonnia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, the videos on this channel help me sleep and the locations are beautiful. Thank you.
Absolutely no offense meant but …. I like the no talking video!! The sounds of the wind makes these shows awesome!! Get really tired of watching all the hiking too , but still Like my Luke .
I'm happy to see you weren't "turned off" by the one bad Peak Refuel meal. There is too much food in a foil packet fort MEeee, so I open the foil pouch at home & create two equal weight portions of the meal & put them inside 1QT Freezer ziplok baggies - now the portions, once rehydrated are just right. I pour the freeze dried meal into a 750ml titanium cup with boiling water. I've made my own Koozie which keeps the meal HOT HOT right down to the last sporkful. I discovered years ago way too much heat is lost in those foil pouches during the 10-15 minute re-hydration period. I sure wish sleeping bag manufacturers designed 'em with center zips rather than left or right side zips. I looked at the "Description" as I wanted more info on the OR Jacket you are wearing, PLUS I wanted details on that small stove with the small Hexamine solid fuel tablet. 15:29; no details/info in the "Description" on that small round pot support that you placed a solid fuel Hexamine fuel tablet inside of that burns @1300 degrees for 15 minutes. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada
I have freeze-dried meals dating back almost 15 years. Everything from mountain house to peak refuel to a lot of the ones in between. Including some of the internet, famous big bulk, freeze-dried meals that a lot of survival experts online. Tell you to stay away from and I've tested every type. I have over the years and only ever had one. That tasted and smelled off. It contained powdered cream and I discovered that there was no oxygen Absorber in it. Otherwise I've never had an issue with a freeze-dried meal even 15 years after it was packaged. But that's just my personal experience.😅
@@jacobravenwood7968 I'm of the opinion so-called "out dated" Freeze Dried meals may lose some flavor over the years, maybe some nutritional value, but in a pinch would still be safe to eat. I'm partial to Peak Refuel because they don't use any meal substitutes/fillers like Mountain House & other brands + they are flavorful to my taste buds. I've consumed some out-dated MRE's & had no problems after eating them. I do, make my own energy gel - composed of 50% Brown Rice Syrup, 30% Molasses, 20% Honey instead ofvbuying commercially made energy gels. All "natural" sugars, no "refined" sugars. The mix needs to be diluted with water when put in a 5oz Hydrapak softflask with bite valve otherwise the mixture is too thick to get squeezed out the bite valve when cold. Pre-cooked bacon is my preferred "snack" source of fat/protein when hike a trail. Bacon goes with or without anything, anytime.
I am watching this video covered from head to toe with blankets, and we are almost 70° here in Texas, but because it's cold and it's snowing in your video it makes me feel like I'm cold here too😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I'm about to be sweating right now 😂😂😂😂😂😂
What’s your coffee mix? Nescafe? Tasters choice? Bustelo? I typically take all my outer layers off and put them in the bottom of the bag and sleep only in base layers or less depending on temperature. But I’m from WI. I enjoy your channel. NC is beautiful. Come up here and I’ll take you camping in Chequamegon National Forest or the Porcupine Wilderness in the U.P. for a couple nights.
Just wanted to point out that you should avoid using your mouth to fill your sleeping pad as your putting warm damp air into the pad, and by using a mini pump or a pump sack we can avoid damaging the pad and actually have it stay inflated longer.
The OneTigris Stella is an AWESOME fourth season tent! I have one, and highly depend on it for winter camping. It's not a tent you'd use in any warm weather, as it holds heat extremely well. It's a fantastic tent for the price.
I watched your initial video unboxing the RidgeMonkey kettle. You were NOT impressed with the volume it held or the sort of soda-straw pour spout. Still, you are giving it a real trial this season. I have seen you using it in many videos.
Love the gear but personally I quit using plastic bottles for carrying water, they all leach microplastics, even nalgene, even though they are light and convenient. I now use a stainless, single wall 64oz bottle carried in my pack and a much smaller one hanging from my shoulder strap. Very little difference in overall weight.
@martymartin2894 Plus, it seems like roughly about every 10 years they're releasing."new evidence or findings " Of something we've been doing are entire lives. That's now determined to be extremely hazardous long-term. Whether it's the use of aluminum foil to cook on microplastics. Petroleum micro particles from our vehicles and our clothing. Getting into our systems, now, even the air we breathe. On a daily basis. Based on all these findings, my parents should never have made it to the age of 70 and 80 and I should be dead at the age of 40 or at least dying.😂
I was thinking right before you pulled out your meal. if I had to pull out a backpacking meal on a cold wet night I’d make it a Peak Refuel in Chicken curry. Their meals are actually tasty. Looks cold up there I’d be miserable. 😅
Totally floored....I was like a STORM ATTACKS!!! Yes, let's go!!! Wait it's only 1/16th of an inch. Waited, watched....nothing. Title was misleading. Unsubscribed.
Luke, are you gunna be able to weather the storm?????🤔 Boy you sure do get a lot of free food, don't you? Do you have any shnacks for this adventure, Luke? Luke, I saw a spider crawling up your arm; I think it wants to bite ya!!!! LOL 🕷
Have you considered going “live” , plan ahead and notify people in advance “when and what time “ and remind people every video the “live” date , you can talk about up coming projects, trips , gear, and take Q&A with your subs ! , start small maybe 15-20 minutes, this would be so cool ! , at least consider this 👍🙏🖖⛺️🏕️

Can camping is pretty cool
I agree his adventures help me feel a little bit there. Life was fun but the backpack is now retired.
Same here van camping. Legs are shot
Sucks to hear that but I understand how you feel.

I love living through your videos Luke! So relaxing and beautiful. Thank you for them so much!😊❤
Thank You Luke your the best my friend 😊...
I love watching these, it brings back memories sitting in the woods and having a cup of tea. Thank you for taking us .
The sound of the zipper is a reminder of camping. It's so distinctive. 😂
I'm whispering to honour the silence
The wind it whispers too.
I love watching your show. So relaxing.
I've always said that I thought that your coffee always looks strong enough to carry your backpack back down the hill for you!! Lol
😂
It's only that instant crap that's not strong especially from those little sachets. He should bring a small moka pot for his gas stove.
Great Vid, love the silent movie😊

Really liked the choice where you set up your tent this time.
Thanks for another adventure😊

I always enjoy watching your videos
Awww to bad - just a light dusting of snow - i was hoping for a blizzard 😂😂😂
Very nice Luke. Thanks 😊
Will you do a review on the back pack you are using in this video?

Man either knows how to re-roll a tent or has a lot of new tents. Great job.
He was military and that training lasts.
Love watching your videos they’re so relaxing to watch ❤

Do you always use two coffees and a creamer when you make it?
I ❤ watching .
What ls the purpose ofthe sticks in the tarp twine? Why didn't you close the tent flap in the front

I grew up in WI as well and your way is how I learned to cold weather camp!
He calls it " tasters nasty " lol 😆
Just found this site today. Is it much different than the other channel the gear review?
Do you feel absolutely safe camping under those trees, especially since there are broken ones right beside you?
That haterd pot again! Oh' Luke. 😂
Just wanted to point out that you should avoid using your mouth to fill your sleeping pad as your putting warm damp air into the pad, and by using a mini pump or a pump sack we can avoid damaging the pad and actually have it stay inflated longer.
Why do you always use this one tigris tent ???

Every time I watch a TH-cam camping video and they point the flashlight into the woods, I’m always expecting to see some creature staring at them. Lol
Nice!
Lets not forget to reply my friend , afterall these are yr long time viewers watching .....
I like these
rất tuyệt vời ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🤗🤗🤗👏👏👏👍👍👍👍

Why did you blow up your mattress directly, all you did was introduce moisture into it reducing its insulating value.

There's probably worse already in the water before u put it in to the plastic bottles.
Maybe where you get your water from.@@martymartin2894

My brother kicked a stump like that once, was immediately stung 400 times by yellow jackets and almost died
hahahaha, did you change your mind on that kettle? Seems to be getting a lot of usage.
What no tarp first?! Lol
You didn't even make a fire, so feel cold.
You're awesome. AB Camping is an overrated, egotistical pr|ck but you're awesome. Love your videos and the sounds of nature
Hahaha, NK did it! And CW is innocent? Your moniker is as idiotic as your comment.
Looks like some good fatwood in the rotten log
Why don’t you ever camp with a hot tent & wood stove? Makes better since than freezing. Plus you always put your campfire a mile from your tent. 🤦🏻♀️

You’re not helping your review continuing to use the pot. Personally I really like it. Each to their own I suppose
Its not available any longer on Amazon, probably because of the review. But yet still using it. lol
@@ryandavies5321 exactly. I like the pot. Yes it’s a little awkward, but I’ve never ever had a problem with using it.
