I was aged 6 in 1978, one memory i have carried with me for the last 44 years (approx), being at my Gran and Grandad house, my Grandad played a cassette tape to me, it was Formula 1 racing cars, even to this day, i adore the sounds of the older F1 cars, magnificent sound. Thanks Grandad
The TV coverage of the 1978 season was more mixed with Argentina and Long Beach on the BBC on Sportsnight and Brazil, South Africa and Sweden on ITV on World Of Sport the latter 2 live though Monaco was live on ITV with highlights on BBC as the very first Grand Prix programme with the rest of the season being covered by the BBC with highlights with the exception of the British Grand Prix which was live but South Africa and Sweden was Live and Exclusive on ITV
