Gilles at his finest! Tks for this superb video! Salut Gilles!
Amazing video, great remaster my friend 😉 👍
This was an interesting race with an eclectic mix of WDC cars and Aurora AFX cars. Great stuff!
Gilles drove a great race, awesome return back to the lead on turn 1
Absolutely awesome three after I became a f1 ASICS that iconic voice now so good and sad to listen to. Makes you wish he was still around. I recommend this watch for every f1er’s
Gracias.
What a feast!
Murray Walker confused as to what 'Tear OFF' Visor lenses are? (the 'hand signal' he's referring to?)
Patrese remained as F1 driver for a long periode
Amazing that the Ferrari 312 T3 was so competitive at this track, second win there in two years, despite it being the 'Old' model in 1979. 👍🏻
In that era, drivers mattered. The T3 was behind in technology, but reliable.
On the difficult Brands Hatch track, Niki Lauda did wonders; he would have won in 1974 (without a puncture), he won in 1976, he would have won in 1978 (without a mistake by Giacomelli), he won in 1982 and 1984.
It was just a track made for him!
Funny thing is that I get the impression he didn’t particularly like Brands Hatch. He mentions Clearways (Clark bend) as one of the most difficult corners in his book and it’s a place where he had a pretty bad crash in his F3 days.
But it gives you a pretty good idea of his mindset that it never seemed to bother him and he just got on with the job.
