Our mastic guy has cancelled about 6 times already, due to weather issues. Is this material really that sensitive? We live in southern California and it's either to hot, or it may rain are his excuses.
Don’t take advice from ANYONE that uses sand He does not know what the hell he is doing. The property owner should sue him and use this video as evidence. Backer rod is THE only acceptable filler under sealant. Sealants are very sensitive to rain during installation, it has to be dry. And mildly sensitive to heat but we have only stopped installation because of heart( mostly on metal panels that get extremely hot and only on on days of probably 100+ degrees) I’m in California too And I hope you are not using a pool company. Most know very little about sealants ( They ARE experts at building pools) If you do, insist that they use backer rod and not sand. Or make them give you a 20 year written guarantee ( they won’t do this)
