Fantastic review couple of things I didn’t like was the lights flashing and horn and bell not correct other then that. Great locomotive. I need to change horn and E bell. I pulled 5-6 cars up 2-2.5 % grade at the club was impressed with the pulling power. Thanks for sharing have a great day 😎🚂🫵
Thanks for another informative video. I was never a great fan of the mud missile, but I guess we don’t have much of a choice. After hearing the sounds, I would probably change the sound decoder too. I also ordered the wrap version # 911. Looking forward to having it finally arrive. Great video. I’m a VIA fan as well. Keep them coming. I’m running both 2% and 3% grades so I guess I’ll never hit the 140km mark. Cheers!
Magnificent catches of the model Athearn Via Rail P42 train being unboxed and seeing it running, I like it 5 stars. Thumbs up. Keep up the perfect work, my friend, I subscribed your channel, Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
I don't think you have a good understanding of how to use the Athearn/ Tsunami decoder. Read the manual . One cv in particular that helps low speed of is 215 . Take a track voltage reading and input that into 215.
Nope. I normally use and prefer esu. Athearn never included a book with the loco. Not sure if that’s normal. I don’t normally buy Athearn either. Everything takes time to get used to. Maybe it’s not user friendly?
@@GoViaorgohome There should have been a blue operations Manuel that list all the function assignments and the entire list of cv's . Also is a list of prime movers, horns and compressors that can be assigned. Cv 3&4 are your acc & decc to put a stop to the sudden start / stop. You ESU guys take the time to program a decoder off track thru their software but don't take the time to use whats already available in Tsunami. I can usually have mine done in about 10 min. And have them crawling around one MPH. Play with it some.
@@GoViaorgohome Not trying be an a-hole or start trouble, just trying to help. contact Athearn or look on there website for the ops manual, It's the same for all. I like soundtaxx because it is very user friendly. The alternating ditch lights are a simple cv change. Give it fair chance to get to your liking.

Bachmann went the extra little bit with their Via announcements sounds
Very nice locomotive. I prefer the original paint colours on the P42'S over the special ones.
I would of paid more for the Poppy Unit as a donation to the Legion . But I guess Athearn screwed that one up.
I feel the same.
awesome Kris thanks for sharing she looks great.😊😊👍👍

@@GoViaorgohome model trains are amazing.
Nice model looks and sounds well, enjoy! (Dave).
The P42 locomotive is a cool looking locomotive, great review Kris
The function assignments and sound choices are in the blue operations manual.
Athearn neglected to include one.
Awesome review video, Kris! Good purchase for sure!!
Stunning looker, but sounds like it has some adjustments you want to do with it!
Nice locomotive, I may be wrong but wouldn’t the flashing lights be when the bell is on?
No flashers on Canadian units.
Maybe as it runs in more, it will loosen up. For the money tho, it should be 100 points. A comprehensive review, Kris🚂🇨🇦🙋
I got 4 of them. 2 love the way and 2 in renaissance scheme. Great runner and good sound. Use them with rapido lrc
nice review Kris :) too bad they didnt make the poppy, that's the one I really wanted
Same same. I like the fancy ones
Great review Kris!
