Don't know how to get your attention but I want to let you know how much I enjoy your video lessons. So much out there by so many different players. Yet, you too my list with your down to earth approach. This video is above my ability right now but eventually I will get there with your step by step lessons and your live Q and A sessions. Love you my friend, thank you for your dedication and your kindness.

Here's a couple of other simple chords based upon the open A I like to use (Low to High string order):
    A Min (Major 7) add 9 = x 0 2 1 0 0
    A Min add 9 = x 0 2 2 0 0
    A Min 9 x 0 2 2 0 3
    A Min (Major 7) = x 0 2 1 1 0
    A Major 7 = x 0 2 1 2 0
    A Min (Major 7) 11 = x 0 2 1 3 0
And for the open E shape:
    E Major 7 = 0 2 1 1 0 0
    E Min (Major 7) = 0 2 1 0 0 0
    E add 9 = 0 2 2 1 2 0 - (also x 2 2 1 2 x if you don't mind the root not being on the bottom)
    E Min add 9 = 0 2 2 0 2 0
    E 9 = 0 2 0 1 2 0
    E Min 9 = 0 2 0 0 2 0
It is quite possible that I've spent far too much time around these chord shapes and some are easier to bar than others, but they all have a great tone. So there's another 144 chords up the neck for you to play with.

LOVE the "drinking from a fire hose" analogy...I get the theory of it, Erich, but the physical application is another story. Is there anywhere to view the actual chord charts as you go through the progressions? I can always find charts for the random chords, but never laid out side by side. As always, you have my highest esteem and gratitude for everything you put out here for everyone.

Hi Erich! Thanks for all your videos. Before I saw your channel I had known few things about playing the guitar for sure I had known how to hold a guitar> :) I thought playing the guitar is an uphill struggle. When I found out your site I saw a great possibility for me. After 2 years (hours of working) I'm a great guitar player. Thanks that you take care about us, young guitarists, and I hope I'll do another progress. Maybe (when I'll be a better guitarist) we will play together. I have a band with my brothers ( they play the saxophone and the trumpet). What do you think about it? Jazz Jam Session with you sounds really great.

Cerebral, erudite and wears a very nice beard. Did I mention he's an outstanding teacher?? Some people teach without passion, while others teach with passion. The Sage was born to teach. He's 100% genuine in his desire to help those who want to learn guitar. He's clear, concise and never stumbles in what he wants to convey. Those attributes are highly important in keeping the interest level up, as well as the attention span. Also --- "beautiful" guitar! Love it.

Music is like food for our ears.we have to treat it with respect.Without music, our lives would have been dull, rhythm less and useless.People need to understand that a sweet tone with rhythm can bring happiness in our lives.and the guitar is one of the most beautiful instruments ever made by man.You can play any note or chord you want.it brings out the musician in you.....

    You decide Erich!!!!!
I DO NOT HAVE A GUITAR but I purchased your Complete Guitar System you had on SPECIAL anyway. I am not in a financial position to purchase a guitar but I was being Proactive so that when I am able to get (OR WIN) a guitar I will be ready to start learning right from the get-go with the best online teacher--Yes Erich you. I love watching your videos and learning from them even though I don't have a guitar yet. Please Erich you have the ability to make me a very grateful and happy person. I COULD REALLY MAKE GOOD USE OF THAT EPIPHONE GUITAR and your UNSTOPPABLE GUITAR SYSTEM!!! I am trying to recover from a surgery that went very wrong leaving me with paralysis in my left leg. I believe that MUSIC IS A GREAT HEALER so I would be extremely grateful if you choose me as one of the WINNERS. Learning to play the guitar would very much help me by taking my mind off what has happened and letting me focus on my dream of learning to play the guitar. Best Wishes and Happy Holidays to you and your family--that includes your pets as they are definitely part of the family.
Hope to hear from you real soon with some great news!!!!!!! Thanks for all you do and keep it coming as you are helping many people with your generosity.

A few days ago i bought a new Ibanez guitar. I spent 1200$ but it gets out of tune in a few seconds. Its really strange. If I have my guitar tuned in E standard and a tune it to D standard in a few seconds all the strings get out of tune. I dont know why this is. If its cause of the neck, the tremolo. Im really upset and really worried

    • @yourguitarsage
