    As a new excavator owner myself, I think the wall looks great! More seat time is the cure in my case... I'd love to have some of those rocks on my property.

    I had the same problem with a few of the fittings on my machine too. I found that if I move the stick/boom around a little it would take grease. I think that in some positions the pressure on the pin is just enough to keep the grease from being able to get in. For one of them, I had to use a grease breaker and tap a solvent into it to break up the clog. Good job with the machine. The lot looks great!

      Yeah I tried moving them around and banging in and out. I have. Grease zerk buster so I’ll have to try that next time

    Getting much better and smoother with the excavator controls. Great compilation video, showing the progress. Most importantly, they'll stop driving on your lawn when it's done!! 😄

    Hey fellows, that will be a nice spot to pull off and buy some firewood. If you remove that boom pin and soak it in brake cleaner when ran an metal coat hanger or insulation push rod through the drilled holes should fit the bill. Great day to ya both👍👍

    I think most of those grease fittings are BST british standard taper...neither metric nor sae...they are their own animal. Just didnt want you to shove a 1/4-28 zerk in there and gouge the threads on your new to you machine.

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hmm that could be the case, some felt to thread in easily others not so much…Baffles me as to why a Japanese company would manufacture excavators in Japan and use a British thread 🤦🏼‍♂️

    For not being a professional (your words) I think you are doing very well, looks great 👍 Good job also on getting on top of the maintenance issues you have inherited with the excavator. Better to tackle them now, because the longer it takes to "get around" to them, the more expensive they'll become. Good video 😊

    You're doing great . I run heavy equipment all day every single day and I have my whole life . There is no Magix training course or school that will make you a great operator.... the only way to get there Is years and years and thousands of hours but some people just don't have it and never will . You "get it " and will continue to get better and better

    Sometimes, the sleeve for the pin that has the channel for the grease to ho thru gets rotated blocking grease from being able to take. Pull your zero and look in the hole that there's a channel for the grease to flow

    Nice job. I had the same issue with one of my tractor fittings. The grease turns hard and if dirt makes it’s way in the internal hole it gets clog. I removed the fitting and sprayed some degreaser and let it seat for a while and then took my power washer and sprayed the hole and the surrounding metal bushing as well….and it worked without having to take the bushing out. Hope you had fun in Florida.

    What you were doing is the best way to learn how to operate the excavator. It's your own job so you can take you time and if you make a little mistake on big deal. I drove a dump truck and we got a full size Case to mine fire clay. First time I ran it I look like Rainman on ice skates. lol. As for the grease problem, sound like it is pluged with dried grease. Take the fitting out and dig it out and put some penetrating oil or parts cleaner in it then try it. We have heated the pin with a torch to melt the old grease. Or just take the pin out dig all the old grease out and run new grease in it before you put it back.

    Good morning Jake, all you need is Seat time and you will eventually become proficient. You gotta start somewhere. I’ll compare to the first time someone has sex. You get much better with experience lol. Even excavators need a lube job every now and then. Maintaining your equipment is always in your best interest to prolong its lifespan.
    Cheers Woody !!!
