    Nice, those 582 rotax always surprise me, so much power in such a small footprint.

      Awesome engines in a light boat. I’m excited to get it back out and show what it can do.

      @@ridinreeds i heard you say no poly, do you run any type of slick bottom? Down here in Louisiana some of the minis are starting to run “gator glide” and “frog spit” and some of the others that the mud boats run, do y’all run anything like that there?

    • @ridinreeds
      @ridinreeds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@swamplandoutdoors yes we have that here and it would definitely help. But we run the great salt lake a lot. The sand and coral would take it off as fast as I put it on so I’ve never spent the money.

    I love that prop, it's same prop we use on our airplane on ch701

      That’s awesome and yes. The adjustability is worth losing a little thrust to me. And the cost is actually really good for how well they work in my opinion.

    We hunt the same area your running in on foot once it freezes up. I'm looking at purchasing mini without poly to help us get to the birds further out. My question is do you run poly or recommend it running on ice. Will it destroy your hull without poly?

    • @ridinreeds
      @ridinreeds  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s awesome. I would recommend poly if running ice. What size hull are you looking at and is it fiberglass or aluminum? Also what size engine? Poly will add some weight and drag from what I’ve heard in open water. I haven’t personally compared similar boats though I’ve just been told.

    Will it run over wet sandbars that are exposed, and some dry sand? Would like to build something similar

    • @ridinreeds
      @ridinreeds  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends how fast you hit them. Lol this one does not run dry well. However there is a lot of forward weight with the seating. If you were to use this engine and get more weight on the back it could probably trim the engine a little better and be okay in a light hull. Weight is what will kill you with small hp.

    What sort of mesh is that around the prop guard?

    • @ridinreeds
      @ridinreeds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is used trampoline netting I found in the classifieds and zip tied down. It’s been on at least three years now. Not the prettiest and probably robs some efficiency but it works.

      This is an ivoprop 64”. Very easy to adjust. Most powered parachutes I’ve seen are running those props. Are you planning on building your own stand and piecing it together or finding a powered parachute and mounting it?
