650XT was my bike for 3 years before I trade in for GSX S1000GT. V Strom is a great bike. Love the engine, good suspension, fair mpg, really comfortable bike. It is top heavy bike because of engine configuration but once you get going, the bike is so stable. I had no problem keeping up with a liter bike. I plan to buy one in future as my forever bike. Ride safe!
@@kodekun7267 thanks bro. Yes you are right. This bike is all we ever need. And is great as a forever bike. Sure there are nicer, more powerful, better handling bikes out there. But as a package, the 650XT is quite hard to beat. And the price is good as well. 😁 have fun on yr GT!
I love my 2017 Vstrom 650, my first ADV bike (6 months after i learned how to ride in my 40s. 😅 Well, my father prohibited me to ride while growing up in KL because my grandfather was rear ended by a car in Perak.) Unlike Harley or European bikes, this bike is so realiable. Never had any issue. Low maintenance too (labor cost in USA is expensive! Oil change for BMW GS is almost >USD200. ) Yes, it is slightly top heavy, but i got used to it, and it becomes agile while in motion. Braking power is sufficient for me. I do wish for adjustable front suspension. Taunted by the ride height of 840mm at first. Also got used to it. Enjoy! 😄
Yes sir, it's a super reliable bike. Rode 4 Suzuki before. Never had any problems with them. Esp the vstrom 1000, was told that the local agent has never opened up the engine before despite some already getting on 300k km. The GS is the best in the segment but u do pay for it. It needs lots of attention to the maintenance just like a BMW car. But sometimes we just want an easy handling, problem free and relatively cheap bike to go riding and holidaying. The 650 is as light as can be imho. On paper it is only 20 lighter than the 1000 and 1200, but it feels way much lighter. The Africa Twin, Vstrom 1000 etc all feels so much heavier. There are cartridge kits for the front forks available for the vstrom 650. Makes them fully adjustable. I might look at them after 1-2 years of owning the bike. Now that I have gotten used to the height, I might increase the height as sometimes I get leg cramps as the knee is bend too much 🤣 I'm only 174 btw. Thanks
Yes sir, 650 is the best balance between weight and power. We tend to always go for the big ones first, then regret 😂 especially once we drop the big ones.
Spent yesterday on mine, 400+ Miles; it’s a ‘21 650 XT ADV, same color ;-) Also ride an RE Himalayan (1st gen), so consider the Strom ‘heavy’ ..and more powerful than I’ll ever need - even on US Interstates @ 80MPH. Solid choice!
Thanks, ya the 650 has all the speed we need in the real world and more. The Himalayan was one of my choice also but I kept reading about problems for the gen 2. 😅 anyway super happy with the 650😂 😂😂😂
@@Eatdrinkrideunclehi may I know your center stand is it easy slip off? I mean you put up the center for your bike and slightly touch it or accidentally bang it, it come off and the bike almost fell lucky my side stand support it. Sorry that my English explanation not that good. I bought it from shopee. Today just got my bike. 😂😂
