Give yourself a little more grace. I suffer from an autoimmune disease and most people do not understand the fatigue we speak of when a flare hits. It is debilitating. It’s not like just being tired. Do what you need to do for your healing and try to be patient with yourself. Wishing you all the best.

Thank you for this message. And you are so correct! The fatigue is unreal, and I think most people just assume it’s the normal “tired”. I will definitely work on giving myself more grace 🙏🏾

I feel like I needed to see this in a way. I injured my lower back and as I’m trying to allow it to heal, all I’ve been doing is light walks on the treadmill - and I hate it. I want to lift and have more intense workouts again.
I feel like that, along with just being in such a sad headspace I’ve kinda let myself slip with foods. I been eating horribly lately and it’s something I’m trying to lessen again. Whenever I see your videos, it’s a soft reminder and push for the lifestyle I want to get back to doing. ❤️

The insulin will build up in your blood and cause your hormones to go completely outta whack. I've found i had to really keep my diet super simple...even on vacay.
As a foodie, it is hard, but the brain fog, fatigue, and fat are too much.
Consider adding ACV or any vinegar as a morning/evening drink. It keeps the insulin working correctly.

I’ve tried everything for my PCOS and the only thing that works for me is Keto/low carb. My doctor refuses to believe I have pcos because I don’t fit all the “symptoms” but I know I am insulin resistant. Doing Keto the first 2-3 weeks of my cycle has been a game changer. Every now and again 1 week before my period I allow myself to eat some complex carbs like beans, sweet potatoes, and some fruit but I don’t go crazy. It’s helped my symptoms for sure. Just to add I also do strength training 4-5 times a week and initially it was hard for my body to adjust without the carbs but now I’m fine. PCOS is for sure caused by a diet high in carbs which leads to insulin resistance, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. I urge you to watch Dr. Ken Berrys interview with Dr. Seeman about pcos.

    • @TheOracle4444

I agree with low carb. I lost 15lbs since Memorial day by just low carb and casual walks. I've taken a gym break and just focused on simple lo car hi protein diet.
I feel better noticeably slimmer, no facial hair. I miss my muscle tone but I'm less hungry now, which let's my know my hormones are balanced. Oh and my cycle is very light compared to Day 1 in bed all day w/cramps & heavy bleeding. I too found insulin resistance gives more data than searching up PCOS.

I think I’m experiencing the same thing and my doctor won’t acknowledge my concerns either! It’s so frustrating not knowing what to do especially when trying to lose/maintain weight loss! I did a veggie and fruit cleanse last week and I’m still not eating meat. Ive lost 5 lbs but im unsure if anything is really working at this point.

I agree with you, a diet high in carbs and processed junk food combined with high cortisol levels definitely plays a part in what causes and triggers pcos. My pcos manifested itself during COVID because of the combination of laying on my bed literally doing nothing for 6 months straight, eating junk food all day and the stress of the pandemic. I’m JUST beginning to heal 3 years later

You should try the new mineral Neutrogena SPF in the shade dark. I have it and it works wonders! I suffer from breakouts and bad PIH as well.
The mineral SPF will help reflect the UV rays versus a chemical SPF which absorbs the UV rays, bring melanin to the surface and will not help prevent your PIH.

I’m not sure if you mentioned this before, but you should consider consulting with an Endocrinologist. My Endo said that many women (especially black women) are given the diagnosis of PCOS without being tested for adrenal insufficiency or hyperplasia also. A lot of the symptoms mirror one another especially extreme fatigue. Wouldn’t hurt to double check with your provider if the fatigue continues to be an issue.

The acne always on one side, according to what I've read, is due to the ovary on that side being the most active in releasing hormones, look it up. Also, I'm a big sweater and I'm loving Lume cream deodorant and acidification body wash, keeps my pits odorless longer and has cleared up the hyperpigmentation over time, have you tried it?

      *weighing I mean

    • @KeshaCollins
      @KeshaCollins  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Well yes everything revolves around the serving size. But I don’t always consume JUST the serving size. For example, the protein powder is 31g per serving, so I weigh out 31g… but the egg whites are 42g per serving, but I consume 3 servings of that. So I make sure to weigh out 126g. Does that make sense at all?

I honestly don’t really bloat anymore since I switched up my diet. Removing dairy helped me. But when I do “cheat” I take the dairy and gluten pills from hilma before I have a meal and I also have their bloat relief pills for the random times that I do bloat. They are a game changer. But definitely pay attention to the foods you eat.

I completely empathize with what you’re going through I don’t have any pain during my cycle, but I have debilitating fatigue and mood swings. People don’t understand it’s more than being tired. It’s like a bone deep weariness. I feel like I’m walking through glue and my brain is working on dial up. My doctors literally have said there’s nothing they can do bc my labs are fine 🙄
