Bruce Davison gives one of his career-best performances in this sleeper success of 1971, which was directed by pedigreed filmmaker Daniel Mann (Come Back Little Sheba, The Rose Tattoo, Butterfield 8). Co-starring Elsa Lanchester, Sondra Locke, and Michael Dante. Screenplay by Gilbert Ralston (creator of the '60 TV show "The Wild Wild West") from the 1968 novel "Ratman's Notebooks" by Stephen Gilbert. The film spawned a sequel and an Oscar-nominated, Golden Globe-winning title song in "Ben" (1972).
