Congratulations on passing your Part 107. Thank you for letting everyone know how you studied for it. From what I've heard weather is not on the recurrent exam. Best of luck with the business ! 👍👍😎

Congrats on passing your 107! It's been over a year since I took the test, sounds like a lot has changed. It also took 4 months for my license to arrive so hopefully the FAA has streamlined that process. Great video, I look forward to more from your channel.

Congratulations again Ken! I checked out the new website, good start and wish you much success in your new venture. I just need to get some free time away from work to start studying for my Part 107. I what to start using my Part 107 certificate to record construction progress legally, and to learn drone mapping, I don't want to get in trouble. Your video with Brian was great, I enjoyed watching how he was performing the high-voltage aerial transmission inspections, very cool since I'm an electrical contractor. Great update, keep up the good work!

Question, do you know if you have to retake the test every 2 years?

Congrats once again on your Part 107 Ken! I passed my test earlier today (I had a mixture of everything). I've learned a lot from you & many others, I plan to follow the same path.

Thank you very much for this video and the info from your experience. More important to me than the 107 was your decision to going commercial. Very motivating for me to do the same. I think it takes time to learn to fly and film well. There is a lot to the process from takeoff to final video or photos. Your work on this channel helps a lot with learning the many skills needed. THANK YOU!

Took me a month and a half to get my official license.
I get a jobs through my website, however you can also get a few side jobs through dronebase, it's a really good starting point. I only do client missions for them (roof and insurance inspections), not the pano missions.

Well congrats, Glad you have it. Going soon and looking forward to it. Insurance is a biggy, thanks for pointing that out. Saw your interview with Rick you seem like a really nice guy compared to some of your comments I like you. I subscribed glad I did. Oh and BTW, I have 12 subs now........LOL! Come see me sometime, I'm seriously into my Tech. Just starting but loving it. I think I could benefit from your knowledge on TH-cam and how to grow your channel. Family in Tampa, I love Florida especially the Gulf Coast. I have nothing but time 56, retired and loving it. I truly wish you great success.

Congrats. I'm feeling pretty good with my studying. I'm just gonna put in a little more time. I called the local office to test and there's not really a wait. I'll prob go next week to take it. I watched Tony's vid a couple times and downloaded a practice app. Thank you for the info. I enjoy your vids. Great info. Thanks brother. Good luck with your new ventures.

I got a 92%, and basically everything you said is correct, i did have longitude and latitude on my test along with everything else you mentioned.I didn't have the extra questions, mines was straight up 60 questions. I had been planning on taking it for close to a year but didnt until last month.
I originally went on Amazon and bought the Test Prep book, that also came along with the Airman Knowledge Testing Supplement book, which is the actual book, you will be using to find your answers to the questions on the part 107 test. Unfortunately, my attention span got lost for reading it.
I didnt use a youtube video, i enrolled in with the Drone Pilot Ground School, ( if you can afford a DJI drone, you can probably afford the online class its wayyyyy cheaper hahaha) There, it was more instructive video and text along with, if needed contacts available to assist you. I didn't take advantage of the assistant till after i passed my part 107 when i had a few questions about filling out that, form for the FAA. Which you must remember to put in your name and info just like you did when the proctor asked you for you information at the testing center. I was questioning myself because i didnt remember it took 48 hours for them to receive the test, i thought i was reading an error on the app.
With the online class they quiz you along each topic you are learning. Once you reach the end, you also get to take a "timed" 60 question test similair to the FAA's. you can download the PDF form of the Airman Knowledge Testing Supplement so when you are doing the quizzes along the way, you have that reference book as well aas for the end of the class
With the book i mentioned i purchased above, it also offers you 5 'timed" free part 107 test, so i did both. there are some things you will learn that you will feel are totally unnecessary, but it may be on the test. Its funny because after i passed the test for some reason, i was now interested in reading the book hahaha, because the book is the full deal, teaching you everything and it will also explain, the answers because it too is testing you along the way.
i also took a magnifying glass and a basic calculator. there is no marking in the books you use, and they will have you on a monitor. You also are not allowed to talk to any other person in the room, you cant take in cell phones or any other type of devices you can access the internet with. they will give you give you some pencils and papers. i spent about 40 minutes out of the 2 hours they give you take it. Like Original said, if you study it will be a breeze, if you dont , you will struggle. you only need a 75% to pass, but who wants to JUST pass??
I am also potentially planning to dab into the real estate line of work and a few other things, but totally part time. Like you, ive done my research and have things in place for when i do decide to plunge into it. but i work, and don't plan on quiting my full time job. so "potentially" part time is what i'm looking at. And i thought Billy already said he had his on one of his videos a while back..............
Gotprint.com is a nice site to have some cards printed as well, along with other items, good quality items, fairly low prices and decent delivery time.
    Good luck in your venture

I got most of my information from Tony Northrup also. His video is really reassuring, and gave me the confidence to go for it. Also did some practice tests. I wish that I brought a magnifying glass though during the test. Those sectional charts are so overloaded with information in very small font. I use Verifly insurance, seems very similar to Skywatch.

I got an 82% on my 107. What really kicked my ass were METARs and TAF reports. For some damn reason those codes would not stick in my head no matter how hard I concentrated in studying. Weather, law, sectional charts, air space,...that that was fairly easy. It sucks that we gotta do this every two years! I'm pretty certain I will NEVER be confident in METARs and TAF's....ugggg!

    • @phildevore4543
      @phildevore4543 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Cliff Totten I am having the same problem with my studying for it too. METARS and TAF’s are not sticking in my brain either. And the sectional charts are hard as well. All in all I know that I can pass the test.

I just got my 107 recently. I have a website and I get alot of people that just ask me fir my 107 info and say they want to hire me possibly the last guybwas a hack or some thing like that alot. I'm so curious if I have to give it to people or only faa or what ever. Is it bad to give it out? I actually have not given it out to any one unless they actualy face to face and end up hiring me.

Back again so soon... Dobo, do you mind entertaining a question that probably requires an hour long discussion but maybe you would be willing to sum up in a few sentences. I lost my EVO in the Pacific Ocean and am now determined to move on to either the Pro 2 or the Phantom V2. I am leaning heavily toward the Pro 2 for now and getting the new Phantom when it becomes available. I really like good quality video and stills and would probably rather own the current Phantom than the 2 Pro but like I said I am thinking about the Pro 2 then the newest Phantom in the future. I exists on two wheels and do not own a car which may explain some of my dilemma. My interest in line of work with drones is probably very similar to yours. Any reactions? Anybody...
