That's where you've wasted your body armor and most of your health trying to protect Natalya, one shot from those hard asses in that room will get you killed and you try to dodge them on your way to the other elevator to end the god damn level!!! I pop a vein everytime I see the blood drooling down the screen!!!!!!!
@Jon Davis I get stuck there because I find myself playing hide n seek with the fucking guards to get rid of them all before they kill me, but they just don't end. And some of them seem tougher than some. I tried what you said once. I discovered that part of the area on accident (of course after 21 years of playing it on and off) because one of the mainframe computers didn't blow up and I used up all the mines to ambush the guards getting at Natalya...I was looking for more mines and I find more armor instead. Maybe I'll try that again.
This entire level was hilarious, Boris screaming "AHA I AM INVINCIBLE!!" After dropping the gun and near pissing his pants, the elevator music was chill then you get outside to hear a sick beat, This game's music was ahead of it's time, so much fun

Only if they were working with real life physics like the film (or action movie physics at least). With goldeneye game engine they are as safe as can be, just not when there are guns in the room.
Yeah it's a really good strategy. I never knew it either. You can nail them as they're coming down the middle stairs and your position glitches some out they just shoot pointlessly at the glass. Pretty cool.

This freaking level gave me PTSD. It's both amazing and infuriating to see you do it so easily, even knowing these aiming controls are significantly better than the real game's.

Your strategy in the "protect Natalya'' section is way different than mine! I wait for the guards in front of the stairs because they come from behind the glasses as well. You don't even let them breathe! I wish I could play like this at least once

@@bangerbangerbro Try strafing to the guards and killing them before they’re prepared to shoot. I’m sure you know you strafe much faster than running forward. The guards up top are pretty slow. You have to keep your head on a swivel because the guards that bust the glass are spawning as well but I always found that to be the easiest way to keep yourself and Natalya from taking fire.
@@4dhumaninstrumentality789 Thanks for that. I also found out after I posted that that Graslu uses a GE and PD specific mouse control injectro thing where the emualtor controls the camera directly, rather than mapping the mouse to the stick.
I used the same method of standing in front of the big screen as a kid, but never thought to shoot up top...but I'm also the same guy who thought you had to run to Trevelyan's elevator first before the one you actually exit through. Can't tell you how many times I helplessly strafed through that final part.
You are a genius. Every time I watch one of your videos it always helps me get through. I never realised that you could just stand in front of Natalya and aim up shooting guards. I now feel that this level is achievable!
@@msuspartans5139 The best part is the one I just mentioned, right behind the railings in front of the staircase - the guards that chase Natalya *only* appear from the top level and have to come down said staircase, the other guards that target you (the ones with hat) can spawn anywhere but won't shoot at you through the railings.
@@msuspartans5139 As I mentioned earlier, the guys targetting Natalya spawn only from the very top floor and they come down that staircase, no other way around so there's no chance if you kill them. That's why it's the best spot, on this video it's played on emulator at 60FPS and mouse controls + high resolution, on N64 it's way harder here.
Y'all probably already know this but you can actually kill Boris in this level. Just stay against the wall and go between those pillars and the stairs. Basically stay out of the area that activates him. You can't cross above him either so if you go up the stairs, don't walk above him, go left or right and keep your distance when going across the computer desk area as well. Go get Natalya. Then you can run down get his gun and kill him. You can still grab your body armor too. She won't start until you are close enough to cover her. It's pretty satisfying to off the little twerp haha
Huh, so just "activate" Natalya entering the control room before "activating" Boris, and then killing him won't fail the mission? Never even thought to try that, that's pretty cool
I didn't know you could enter the room with hanging machine guns before the end. That's where I always struggled trying to take those guns out as an endless spawn of enemies kept coming from behind. one attempt and completed now. Thanks!
Just recently played through Control on 00 Agent. I do believe it took me 25 tries and watching a youtube video to take notes. After that, this level REALLY isnt that BAD. Aztec takes the cake for hardest, that fucking took me over 100 tries of trial and error. A. Blow up the mainframes behind the glass, only blowing up one side of glass on the right ( If you face the goldeneye screen, to your right) DO NOT blow up the left side glass, you WILL regret it unless you are super fast on killing enemies. Throw the mine on the mainframe itself to do so, the left mainframe throw the mine on the FLOOR NEXT TO IT not on it. B. Face your back to the glass, constantly looking left and right when Natalya is finally in the room, with the body armor from upstairs on. C. Blow up every single computer desk except for the one Natalya uses so you can quickly run to enemies who miss your scope and take em out. D. Use any remaining mines (on 00 agent should have 3 left by this point, you need to keep at least 1 for the last mainframe after this sequence). Throw one on the elevator door behind the glass, and the blast door on the left side. You will take out extra enemies that could overwhelm you when these doors open. Not a requirement but certainly helps! E. IF YOU DO MANAGE TO PASS THIS, Blow up the last mainframe behind the blast door's glass with the last mine, run to the elevator door, take out the 2 guards across the hall, Run immediately to the right behind the lockers to find a 2ND BODY ARMOR! Use this, run n gun, find the blast door that takes you to the elevator, 2 enemies towards the left of the wall in front of you next to the elevator. Bang bang, open the door, mission complete. HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE!!

I love how this game gives everybody balls of steel. Everytime you get shot in the leg or arm Everybody just shakes it off no limping, no bleeding out, they just say owe and shake it off
Yeah, I notice a lot of games nowadays try to combine death animations with ragdoll physics so that enemies don't just fall to the ground like a sack of potatoes every single time you kill them, but I can't think of any game where the animations are as.... elaborate as those of GoldenEye and Perfect Dark.

When I played this level, I beat it first try on 00 Agent difficulty. Well, second try. When Natalya said "Can you be quieter? I can't hear myself think.", I just shot her the first time.
This game stole 2 years of my life from 1998 to 2000, I recently rediscovered it with emulators, man memory lane! I see now someone else has become Bond as well. Towards the end I definatly was Bond, most of the time I didn't even use my sights. Run n Gun, head shots with auto aim off,, usin "c" keys to aim.. awesome stuff. This was my favorite level, that and running through facility 00 gettin invisible cheat, or was it invinceble? totally crazy. After this many years now I have to look up how to beat levels, sad. Awesome show though! Graslu00 became Bond! Its so much fun when ya get to that lvl, the game becomes booring but hunting your friends in multi is a kick!

I really struggle with the final part of the level (after Natalya goes back) because guards are spawning everywhere and I cannot aim properly to destroy the drone guns in the room with 4 of them for one of the last two armoured mainframes.

Get an emulator, set controls to mouse and then pretend you are playing an N64 and you can do that too.

More realistic than most FPS though. Quakes aren't sensitive to body parts I don't think. In perfect dark I think the enemies limp when injured.

It legit took me over 100 attempts to pass this hell hole at 8 years old🤣🤣😂 To this day, I think this map is still by far the most aggravating mission ive ever done in my life. 💯

This is prolly the hardest level in the game...trying to not get Natalya killed...Aztec and Egyptians are easy as hell to me.

I really struggle with the final part of the level (after Natalya goes back) because guards are spawning everywhere and I cannot aim properly to destroy the drone guns in the room with 4 of them for one of the last two armoured mainframes.
I love this game I love all of the 007 James Bond games.
