    Ignoring a "KEEP OFF THE GRASS" sign, can have dire consequences in the UK. This persistent offender was found guilty and sentenced to three months holiday in Bognor Regis.

    This country has gone PC crazy.. I feel embarrassed to live here sometimes :(
    That little episode probably cost £10k to arrest what obviously isn't an armed terrorist just because some fucking idiot citizen had a mobile phone in their pocket... I despair :( :(

      ***** Except when you look at it from another perspective - EG, the amount of people living in each country - the UK is on par with deaths via firearms in the US.

    I have nearly been in the same situation as this guy, but was cleaning my rifle at a friends home together with him. When I went out to drive home I was "beaten up" by a 35 men squad of german police. Took me plenty of time to explain and to show my gun liscense before they went home.I hate neighbours kalling the police then you are at home handling your guns. They all panic because of school shootings and stuff. No normal treatment for legal gun owners. They treat us like criminals ! Damn !

    It sounds like a police exercise. They use the word "endex" meaning end of exercise. It we use in the British army

    I KNOW HOW HE FEELS , IT HAPPENED TO US!!, THEY WANTED ME TO LIE DOWN IN THE MUD, SOME CHANCE! I ASKED THEM WHAT THEY THOUGHT I WAS DOING SITTING IN A HIDE WITH A PIGEON MAGNET OUT IN FRONT OF ME, THEY DID'NT HAVE A CLUE!!, ONE OF THE OFFICERS WAS SO FAT AND OUT OF BREATH HE COULD'NT HAVE HIT A TARGET IF HE HAD TRIED.

    @HighlandAirGun I agree, to an extent. Yes the police have to respond to a call regarding a firearm, but do they have to turn up with helicopters and submachine guns? I don't think so. I've had first hand experience of this, when a member of the public phoned the police while I was wildfowling on the foreshore; no armed response unit for me, just two police officers who empathised with me completely and said it wasn't the first time they'd had this. The above video is a gross overreaction.

    Once a country decide to take a turn for a worse it rarely gets better. The black market answers to demand, meaning there is a will to have guns, people don't want change.

    You arent the only ones, lucky for Americans though firearms are a huge market so the govt has big trouble restricting sales of weapons and accesories. Plus we have the NRA who get in the way of antigun laws, not always but at least sometimes. Pellet guns are easy because real guns are easy, you can order a high powered bb gun or a bow/xbow with no paperwork or anything like that. Still, they will never stop trying to disarm the people so that they can push them around.;

  • @petercar96

    whoever made this should, read the guidance to Police officers published by the BASC I certainly would not be dumping a expensive shotgun in the mud, no common sense at all. Get educated there are 750,000 firearm and shotgun certificate holders out there and the Police make us go and use them or else we have no reason to possess them.

    This is why I won't even shoot my Crosman 2240 pistol in my garden even though it is legal, it only takes one idiot to call the bizzies and say "there's someone shooting a gun in the garden" next thing your on a slab in the morgue.
    He would probably be dead if someone wasn't filming it. What was up with the sound, I couldn't hear anything?

    With current proposed reductions in the Army, perhaps, in an emergency, we could call on the armed response police teams to help out in Afghanistan. They could have some real action, and justify their existence, rather than holding innocent people at gun point, in what is clearly a ridiculous situation.

  • @EnglanderUK
    @EnglanderUK 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @Pumanic You are missing the point, this ain't rifles or shotguns (which they also have in great numbers) and hunting, the point I am making is that since pistols were outlawed there has been an explosion of gun crime in our cities because the guns are easier to get now.

  • @JoshyWaffle
    @JoshyWaffle 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've seen sources where it says crime rates are worse in the UK than it is in the US. Gun laws really don't protect people as much as you think, which is why I hope the US doesn't tighten its gun laws any further.

  • @EnglanderUK
    @EnglanderUK 12 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Even worse, co2 guns are extremely sensitive, people who own the SMK xs/qb range for example, run the runs at 10.5 - 11 ft-lbs, and like you said, the police would test them in abnormally warm conditions which would make them go over the limit very easily.
    They also test with a light weight pellet, a medium and a heavy FAC rated pellet that you WON'T even use for a sub 12. My unmodded break barrel would break 12ftlbs with a FAC heavy, and they wonder why people have no respect for them.

    On your next visit, if you have the freedom and time, try to steer clear of the big cities. That is where the crime and gangs are. The Ozarks in Arkansas, now that is some pretty scenery (about an hour from me). Crime just doesn't seem to be able to get a foothold in the deep south. We farm, go camping, live off the land and everyone knows everyone. Almost everyone hunts and owns guns (respectfully and safely). We welcome visitors here, unlike the way they portray southerners in the movies...lol

    Before people make comments about this video, ie. public land etc. it is in the titles that it IS a demonstration i.e. a setup just for info purposes. I have been shooting many, many years and never been so much as spoken to on my shoots. At home is another matter. One neighbour sees an air gun and all hell breaks loose. Ignorance is bliss I suppose as the bobbies hadn't got a clue. One GMP WPC thought my guns would be safer locked in my car!! Go figure!

    no to mention when they test your gun they take them into a very very warm room which can actually increase the ft-lbs so even some pcp's you get which say they are under 12 can be over 12 and you get jailed and it not even being your own fault

    UK limit should be raise to the minimum the US use i,e 33 ft/lb on private land with written agreement. 99.999% of us air gunners / hunters are good country code guys we lock styles after us, we don't go waving firearms around. 99.999% of us sit of private land shooting FT targets or pests ask requested by farmers, we spend thousands of pounds on the very best kit and we act responsibly. Organic farmers have no choice! you try putting out 500 rabbit traps ever night!

    You thing that this is bad if the cop are called for a air gun hunter in the out skirts of glasgow (scot) you will not have the gun on you for long you will be tackied to the ground till the gun is proven safe and put out off view of all watching.You will have to go to a lawyer to got it back if thay say it it legal.If my bro and i go out for a hunt we go fishing to and go up the cost to a lock we have a bout and go to the shore that access to cars and hunt just so we can have a good day or two.

    There are MANY things that's against the law, that does not mean we have more of them, neither have you. Or are you saying that people go thinking "Oh this is against the law, so totally have to do it"? If that's your point, you don't understand basic psychology. Criminality have increased world wide, of course there are more gun crimes committed, it's like 2+2, everybody knows the answer is 4.

    How many times have anyone taken a bulldozer, killed people, and taken down the town it happened in? I can recall maybe one happening like that, and not one person was killed when it went down....now....how many times have someone grabbed a firearm and randomly killed people? Not only criminals, just 'ordinary people'? The reason for firearms to be more dangerous is; anyone can get hold of them, and it's easy for people to be temped to use them. Pick it up and use it.

    Good? Maybe you like being told what to do, but I, on the other hand, would like to keep my freedom. The easiest way to lose it is to give up your weapons and encourage that others do as well. You might want to go to you neighbor's (that is a gun owner) house one day and thank him/her for still standing up for your ignorant ass. Maybe thank a Veteran some time, and ask them how they feel about gun control. They've probably seen first hand what it can do. Think about what you're giving up.

  • @GraffitiBombing247

    On another note, I know how many people who have loads of trouble just to even be able to go & hunt, despite zero criminal record & having full licence for all firearms they need or own, you need various permissions etc. & often the cops will just say 'no sorry your gun is too powerful for land that size' so they dont get the go ahead ... but the gun is only slightly more powerful than the other rifles & in any other country that rifle is absolutely fine even in much smaller land ... total BS

  • @GraffitiBombing247
    @GraffitiBombing247 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I respect your opinion but it's too strict though, you cant own a handgun at all unless it has a ridiculously long barrel, the only time you can own one is if you are a deer hunter &need one to humanely kill the animal if you didnt kill it with the rifle, or to use in a club where it can only be kept in the club you cant take it home - all the while a cop can run around with a sub machine gun to 'control the population',or a yob with an illegal ak47, why cant we have handguns at home 4 defence?

  • @asp383

    if your permission has public access, such as golf course or sports ground, or other such sensitive areas around, always phone 101 & advise the police where you're shooting + times & dates, just as you would the landowner. would save this sort of hassel ... better a call from the police to check it's you shooting there, than laying face down on the ground with guns pointing at you ... will save the tax payer money too

    I am an airgun shooter and you have some valid points and some stupid ones too. He is breaking the law end of! how do the police know if the "air rifle" is 12flb or 32flb??. I am guessing you do not know much about uk airgun law so i will explain that 12flb is legal to own without a fire arms certificate but a 32flb air rifle requires a fire arms certificate. NEITHER can be carried loaded in a public place in the uk.

  • @EnglanderUK

    Well the reason you have the right to bear arms is to defend your freedom against a tyrannical government, sadly I was too young when we sold our souls and gave our guns up. We have to show good reason for needing firearms and defending your home and family isn't one of them. David Cameron can have two armed police with fully auto mp5's outside his house though, funny that.

    However, I have to add that this is just a video with terrible audio and from this we know nothing about the man except he was using a rifle and searched by the police. We cannot conclude from this that he was out there causing mayhem shooting every animal.
    Your comment is irrational and the equivalent of saying "Everyone who drives loves doing it and speeds everywhere."

    the whole concept of armed police in this country is a waste of money, it seems most of the forces that have armed units, rarely if ever(in some cases simple never) actually use their guns, they rarely ever are called out to incidents where the suspect has actually got a gun(a firearm etc). all the training and cost is a total waste of time and money. and the actual rates of gun crime in this country have never been very high so unnecessarly oppressive gun control laws are really wrong.

For most part UK gun Law as it stands works really well. Rules are clear. But my missus found an AK-47 with clip and live rounds in on a grassy area on estate in Lambeth S.London. If I'd been there with my kids I'd perceive him as a risk since no half sensible or sane person is going to get dressed in full cammo and take a gun to the park are they (except Michael Ryan of Hungerford types of course) ? when I was a lad you could go down to the post office with ten bob and buy a licence for a shot gun, we would shoot clays all afternoon, no one moaned or called the police, they turned up on the odd occasion to have a go. I remember accidentally going on private land they turned up without guns, and chatted about our mistake we apologised and they left. Whats has happen to our once beautiful country ? well I know who I will vote for in the next election anyone who is for our field sports

    It takes 30 seconds to phone the police control center in the uk to get an incident number and let them know where and when you'll be shooting! I do this every time I go out especially lamping then if there is a report they know who it is!! Simples!! That fella may have been shooting on land he shouldn't have been on and quite rightly should have been busted if so! I would guess most negative commenters on here don't even shoot or hunt!!

    @petercar96 but he's not in the countryside. He's in a public field in a public place. The Police aren't 'ill educated' the police react the way the law expects them to. What would have happened had they not reacted and a kid/passer by was shot? We've had some bloody idiots go off with guns over the past few years. Personally, I'd rather they took every precaution in the first instance rather than risk things going badly wrong.

    why pay taxes for this kind of nimbyism? an ill-informed urban majority who contribute little to the life or economy of our countryside seek to sterilise it so that they can wander about it on occasional dry weekends. why dont they just p!55 off to the park and leave rural places to rural people? oppressing a minority who adhere to the culture they have sold/lost generations ago.
    spleen vented!

    ill educated police in this country,people shoot in the countryside,if you want to go a rampage you go to a town.
    Re letting the police know beforehand does not work,they still have to investigate,heard of one chap getting stop searched after he had finished shooting. Result another tick in the performance indicator boxes.
    The BASC has a very good online guide for Police officers as to what time of the day and locations they are likely to encounter wildfowlers and other legal shooters

    apparrently it costs £100 per minute to keep police choppers flying ... this government makes me sick
    choppers are only used in other countries when serious crime is committed, here they are following kids on motorbikes who are having fun rides in open land, we should all refuse to pay tax until they sort themselves out .. .whose with me ?

    Some of the comments on hear left be people are not doing us any favours. The title should be 'Police training exercise in response to a report of someone illegally poaching on private land' other wise it leave the members of the public with the impression that pigeon shooting is illegal which it is most certainly not.

    Well I'm glad they stopped him from killing those birds. However with all those policeman around, and the helicopter...well it's all a bit too much to take. Only one officer was needed and at that he should have issued a warning and let the man be on his way. It was scary watching that young gestapel like officer frisking him as if he was some kind of terrorist.

    This is such a poor training video... no sound of what the officer is saying, it shows the shooter to be aggrivated, it does not show what happens next.. This seems to be more of a threatening exercise as its also shot in a public place?? i just dont get it?? poorly executed training video.. very very poor indeed

    Its a damn shame to see this happen in your country.
    Best you folks can do is keep at your politcians, vote them out if they don't protect your freedoms.
    Like politians every where they are more worried about getting rid of threats to their power (armed citizens) than dealing with the actual threats to their countrys.
    We are seeing that in this country now (USA).

    I have a marauder pcp pistol. I can put it all in my backpack and go to some park where I hide in them bushes. I take the pistol out and starts shooting them pigeons. When I am done I put it all back in my backpack and I go off. I try not to stay too long at one place and not to attrack attention. It is a full proof method me thinks!

    You can hear what's said only just.the police must come to investigate and in the vid you clearly hear the bobby saying "weve had a call reporting a man with a fire arm.were just going to check you out and if you have reason to be hear it's ok" there is no shouting or unreasonable behaviour ..the bobbys did a good job I say...and yes I do own guns...

    It is the people who have total disragard for law's (Driveing without proper docmetation,Robbing,Offessive wepons in public) who get away with everything
    while the law abideing ones have to pay with there cival liberties & higher premiums
    while the one's commiting crime are laughing in the face of the Law.Crime Does Pay its just my conciense which stops me.

    @magnusalexa An Air gun should only be cocked or loaded when on target and not before. If you obey the rules all weapons are safe. You can't make a rule for stupidity. Any who make an error of judgement which end in a person being injured should be banned for life from owning any form of gun or weapon I think this would be fair, this would also apply to the police...

    For heavens sake! I can go shoot guns any time I please and frequently do. Hearing gunfire on the surrounding farms is not at all unusual here. I'm sorry you don't have something like our 2nd Amendment to the Constitution. I will never, ever give up my guns to anyone for any reason and there are many millions here who would do and say the same! Good luck!

    they just have a call saying there's someone with a gun not what type of gun i.e. air or bullet so they have to take the call as if it was a bullet gun. take it from someone who's experienced this first hand as i had armed police seal my street off because someone had seen me with a air gun and iv only myself to blame

    It wasn't being compared by population, because then obviously America would win in crime number. I just look up "UK and USA crime rate comparison" and everything states that it has a worse rate of crime per 100,000 people than the United States. At least that's what it says about violent crimes.
