Suffer the Little Children Podcast - Episode 10: Noah Tomlin

  • Last June, Julia Tomlin reported her autistic 2-year-old son, Noah, missing, saying when she awoke around 11:30 in the morning on June 24, he was gone from the family’s mobile home in Hampton, Virginia. Investigators launched a massive search that spanned ten days, caught the attention of the national media, and involved several law enforcement agencies as well as concerned citizens. As the days passed, Julia’s story began to unravel, and she was charged with murder after admitting that Noah was dead, his body disposed of like trash. Days later, Noah’s partial remains were found in the city landfill. What little was found of the tiny boy told a tragic story of long-term neglect and abuse.
The more was learned about Julia’s life, the more obvious it became that she should never have had custody of the three children in her care at the time of Noah’s murder. Despite extensive CPS involvement with the family, a prior prison sentence for child neglect, endless documentation of her drug and alcohol abuse, and several other red flags, Julia was indeed granted custody of the three youngest of her ten children, only for one of them to end up dead.
This is the gut-wrenching story of Noah Tomlin.

When I was 13, we went to this ranch in Arizona or Utah. There was a family living on a ranch in a one room place with a double bed. The whole family would pile in the bed or sleep on the couch. The kids were the happiest and most confident children... they had a little baby with no toys or a cot or anything. The baby never stopped laughing and smiling. That's when I learned that you don't need money to have a happy family. I hope you get to fulfil your dream, and the dream of a child that needs love ❤️

'You won't feel better unless you forgive her!'
False, and any therapist worth their salt will tell you that. No one 'needs to forgive' to feel better or heal, and insisting on forgiveness does more damage than people realize.

I wish I was healthy enough to have a child and would care for them and love them no matter what. When I hear about stories like this, it makes me so upset. Other than the fact I’m single, I am refraining from having a child even though I’d love to have one because I know with my depression and past addiction issues I wouldn’t be able to be a good mom as I want to be at this point until I get healthy. It would be selfish of me to have a baby because I want a baby. I have to do what is the best for the baby, not me. I also have to consider that my mental illnesses and those in my family can be passed on to my child too and that is something I have to keep in mind before having a baby. It baffles me how many people don’t even consider the fact that they can pass on mental health issues from both sides of the extended family onto the baby! It makes me sick that people have babies simply because they want a baby, regardless of their life circumstances, and/or use getting pregnant as a means of getting attention from or punishing a partner, or by simply not thinking at all. Do what’s best for your baby, not what’s best for you. If you’re unable to do that for whatever reason, you’re not ready to be a parent yet.

As a recovering addict, I just want to mention that heroin absolutely IS the kind of drug to help you clean your house, if you are an addict. Without it, its nearly impossible to function. With it, you may nod out for the first little bit after initially getting it into your system, but once that initial high wears off, it just helps you maintain normality, including completing normal tasks like cleaning, errands, etc.

I follow ‘Suffer the little children’ and I’m so well… heartache for all the children in the world who gets beaten, starved, killed and so on.

When the investigator was talking about all the air, water, ground areas they covered and all the resources that went into the search and rescue of Noah, it made me angry because his mom knew damn well where he was. She lied and wasted time for days. I can't imagine being one of the S&R people, only to find out later the boy had been murdered and discarded by his own mother. This mom should've been made to get her tubes tied. She never should've had any kids, she doesn't deserve them.

It never ceases to break my heart how evil some parents are. I'm surprised though this guy is just laying out the case and evidence in a press conference. I would think that would hinder prosecution due everyone knowing everything. I mean the evidence is so overwhelming, there's no way she could be found anything but guilty. I just wonder if it could be hard to find an impartial jury.

    • @alyciamarie4163

I once knew a woman who had a newborn son and told me her home was no place to raise a baby. She contacted an adoption attorney. Soon her son had a new home and the woman was given $10,000.00 to start a new life. That was in the 1970's. Can you imagine how much it'd be today? So it makes no sense for that Tomlin woman to destroy her son when, if she didn't want him, she could've found a loving home for him and got paid handsomely for it. That's the logical solution for women who feel stuck with an unwanted baby. I'm glad he's in the arms of Jesus... safe, secure and only love and happiness. Sweet innocent baby running around heaven laughing and playing with the other kids there. 💞
