  • So in this video I cover installing an RBC Intake Manifold onto a 9th Gen (2014 to be exact) Honda Civic Si. This will be the same process for all 9th Gen Si's. Its a pretty simple process.
    -remove air box/ cai/ sr intake
    -disconnect throttle body and all vaccum and coolant lines
    -remove fuel rail
    -remove plastic intake manifold
    -remove runners
    -reinstall rbc along with coolant delete/bypass
    -reconnect all vaccum and coolant lines in their correct locations
    Thanks all for liking and subscribing. Don't forget to get yourself entered in my 100/150 subscriber giveaway. Leave your comments below! Also don't forget you can ask any question you have considering your application and I will answer it to the best of my ability.

      @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man thanks for the support! As for the swap, I bought the kit from a friend and it had everything included. The one I'm using is the prl bypass/ delete and I know I've seen them around on a few sites. Can't find one at the moment but if you're looking for something similar there's one on kseries pros site made by ktuned. kseriespros.com/k-tuned-intake-manifold-coolant-bypass-k24z7/

    • @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal
      @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The plastic cover over the manifold comes off by simply in screwing the two 10mm bolts that hold it down. The valve cover is a little more in depth but you can watch my other video for reference. th-cam.com/video/7v7PAWgdAmQ/w-d-xo.html. And after that you need to either hydro dip it yourself or send it to someone that hydro dips them. Contact streetlocity@gmail.com and they can point you in the right direction 🤙🏽

    What is the point of the RBC install on a stock K24? The RBC is only good past 7500RPM.. And you lose some of that mid-range torque. You'll need to build the head and go with a 50* VTC gear as well as cams to take real advantage of the RBC. But you are kinda playing with fire revving a k24 past 8K. 8K on a k24 is super fast engine speed. I wouldnt feel all that safe revving a stock K24 higher than like 7800 without building the motor. Im sure plenty of people have gotten away with it, but its a ticking time bomb.

    • @moneymikegsr
      @moneymikegsr 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      lol, you will not see anywhere close to a 20-30 HP gain unless you are putting up big boost. as far as NA you lose most bottom end but at around 7k rpm ( at redline) it makes 4 1/2 - 7 HP. so basically if are going to only want top end it is a good swap with cutting torque at low end. but it does give it that kool sound.

    Hi man, great video! I was wondering if you *NEED* a tune, obviously for CAI, headers, and manifold you obviously need a tune but is possible to not require a flash tune? I watched a video before and I've never seen anybody do this method before, he would install the RBC manifold then wait the next morning and cold start the car and hold the rev at 3000rpm to "restart" the car ECU as you have much more air into the engine, after he is done this for a few seconds, he proceeded to turn the car off and happy days. Does this really work?

    Do you have to extend the throttle body sensor or there enough slack to reach

      If you open up the harness I’ve heard there is enough slack but I just extended mine by cutting and adding wire and soldering it in.

    Hey bro I have another question I have the sk2 pro series idk how different it is from the rbc but what did u do with the pcv hose it doesn't have anywhere to connect now and also the small hose right above your knuckle around 8:09 - 8:13 idk what to do with them thanks

    • @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal
      @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the rbc it has a bung for the pcv but like my kraftwerks manifold it doesn’t. Right now I don’t have it connected to anything but I am going to run it to a catch can. And the small vacuum that’s near my knuckle I have connected to a line on my prl tb adapter

    • @awwwyeea
      @awwwyeea 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aaron Shirzadi interesting and the prl tb adapter sort of works like a tb spacer ? Or what's the purpose of it I'm thinking about getting it

    • @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal
      @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah the adapter is basically a spacer. Makes the 9thgen tb work with the rbc. I have it on my kw setup just as a spacer.

      Just clipped the wires and soldered in extensions. Just leave yourself some room. Don’t cut to close to the connector.

      What I had for this was as follows:
      - cut rbc intake manifold
      - prl coolant bypass
      - hondata thermal intake manifold gasket
      - prl throttle body spacer/ adapter
      - hondabond (not hondabond4)
      - honda/acura coolant
      That’s all I can think of atm. If I think of anything else I used I’ll be sure to update the post 🤙🏽

    • @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal
      @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends where you get everything from and if you get it cut like mine was. It can range for the complete setup anywhere from $450 (what I sold mine for) to $700+. Also if you aren’t doing the installation yourself you’d want to take that cost into consideration as well. Plus to make it worth your while you would want to have the car tuned so there is that cost too lol.

    • @Mattedmz
      @Mattedmz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aaron Shirzadi Thx for quick response.. I seen some places where they cost $140 for k24z manifold kit. I just wasn't sure whether that's all you needed to make some gains or add injectors along with it or something! I'm already tuned n have a flashpro so I don't really need to worry about that, just wanna get a re-tune with an RBC now n get best possible results!

    • @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal
      @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah whatever tune you have now will need to be changed to compensate for the rbc. And yeah my setup was the intake manifold with the coolant delete, the prl coolant bypass and Rdx injectors.

    • @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal
      @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes most people run the rdx injectors so they don’t have to bore out the stock injectors because most tunes with the rbc on the 9thgen require more fuel

    Do you gotta drain anything?

    • @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal
      @AaronShirzadi_mar5hal  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. When you remove the coolant lines and runner your coolant is going to drain. You may be able to get by without letting it all drain but you definitely want to bleed the air out of it by burping it.

      I honestly snipped it and extended it with some 18 gauge wire. Soldered everything up and no problems as of yet. It’s better to crimp since the engine bay has a lot of heat in it but soldering did just fine for me. Just match the wires up by color and add what you need 🤙🏽

      It depends on your tools and experience in the matter. If you’ve never worked on your car or any car for that matter this can be an all day/several day process but if you’re somewhat familiar with the setup you can have it done in just a few hours. Maybe even less. It took me about 3 hours since I rounded off a nut on one of the studs and had to run out and buy and extractor kit.
