In this Week’s Family Update:
November is Adoption Awareness Month. At Silver Creek Church, we have plans to emphasize this amazing ministry because caring for orphans is a part of God’s call on our lives (James 1:27). Adoption is a great picture of the gospel. It’s both messy and beautiful and reminds us of what God has done for us. We are partnering with The Bair Foundation (www.bair.org/) and Caring for Kids, Inc. (cfkadopt.org/) to help answer questions and raise awareness.
We are kicking off our Meal Ministry this week. The Meal Ministry is a wonderful opportunity to support our church family by providing meals during times of need, such as illness, new babies, or recovery. Sign up to express your interest in joining a meal train and be a blessing to those who could use some extra care and nourishment. Signing up for the team by no means obligates you to help with any or every request. It just provides a pool of people we can reach out to when a need arises.
RETHINKING SEXUALITY EVENT November 13, 6:30 - 8:00 pm. - The focus of this event is to equip Christian men and women to address sexuality in a way that represents God's love and truth. Dr. Juli Slattery writes, “One day it dawned on me. We have been sexually discipled by the world!” We believe it’s time to change that. WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR? We believe this is a conversation in which every church needs to engage. The teaching is geared toward Christian leaders, parents, and every Christian who desires to be grounded in a biblical understanding of sexuality.
