Those were among my first comics. My god ! It was so good back then, Andy Kubert's arts are so good and Fabian Nicieza also had his great New Warrior run just prior.
I dunnoh while most of these story bits actually lead all the way to 2024 but most lead directly into the ocean that surrounded Karocaian nation hell even En Sabah Nur was on the Council. So a lot can be left out to gain a Plebian familiarity of ancient X men lore if done by series or movie.
Sure, you could easily do 10 movies to cover the lore, but which characters could have their stories distilled for mainstream audiences? I’d love to see stories for Storm, Nightcrawler, Psylocke and Mystique.
I was floored when I read this when it originally came out in 92-93. Seeing this vid encourages me to re-read this story, especially considering that both Betsy and Kwannon are currently active in separate X-titles.
@@shurronfarmer post Claremont writing suffers at attempting to mimic him. Although he didn’t do a great with explaining ninja Psylocke, this stuff was very confusing. I was out shortly after.
The whole Psyloke/Kwannon thing was a bit of a mess. Kind of a cool idea, but such a weird, confusing, twisty execution. Do love psychic ninjas tho. So there's that.
Unless there are multiple versions of what happened to her Shinobi Shaw had her kidnapped. The Japanese Ninja had the legacy virus she was Sebastian Shaw woman his Ninja he had their bodies switched but the legacy virus was connected to the person's soul and it followed the Japanese ninja into Betsy's body they didn't need the Japanese woman's body anymore before they realize that there are method did not work so they threw it off a cliff into the ocean but Betsy survived and the legacy virus followed into Betsy's body so the Japanese ninja still had the legacy virus that's one of the reasons why I knew their powers were not just connected to the genetics but also their spirits Pacific Xavier lost his body he don't have to pass on if you don't want to he just hijacked inside of somebody else's body I'm doing a whole prime sentinel thing wolverine's blood cannot be used to save people's life like it can now because a retcon things
@21:20 that's what is wrong with artists after the kirby level ... What is it? Not being able to draw different body types. Even cyclops grand daddy is buff lol wtf. Plus psyloc is just a code name like the pope so why can't both of them be THE psyloc
@23:00 so the skanky dressed psyloche was a low level psychic. Basically a bottom feeder psychic and tried to probe a better paychics mind and got over taken by the essence of the stronges psychic ans basically became crazy and believed she was the British broad? This is just classic soap opera tactics dressed up as superhero stuff
It's crazy that the imposter became way more popular than the original. They tried to do that with Spiderman and that Ben Rielly fiasco but it actually worked with Psyloch. Folks just moved on and accepted the imposter and didn't question it anymore
This comic was one of my first comics when i first got in to comics back in middle school ❤

See, this is why I say there's no way to properly do the X-Men as a series of movies: There's just too much lore.

Do the entire Chuck Austen run!
At 2:04 in. That picture of Psyloche was one of the first drawings I recreated when I was learning how to draw.
