Per the avg height of a kneeling human welder, the thrusters aren't as large as you may think. The whole of that rear portion appears to only be 15m tall from base to top thruster. This coincides with a small pad. However, pad 07 on a carrier is a large while in a starport its a medium. The under belly also appears very Viper mk3ish to me. My bet is the last two ships will be a large hauler ala Panther Clipper and a super-light long range jump ship in the ballpark of 95-100LY.

To me it appears to be a cluster of 4 center thrusters with a thruster nacelle off to the side, and most likely to be another one on the opposite side we can't see behind the doors. After looking at the Imperial Cutter's thruster layout, it looks very similar to me. Also it appears that to the lower left of the bottom thruster, obscured by the fog, you can make out a landing strut positioned in approximately the same position as the rear landing gear of the Cutter. You mentioned that hangar 7 is typically a medium sized hangar..... I can't help but wonder if this is a concept of a ship model that is based on the frame of the Cutter only shrunk down to a medium sized ship and reskinned to not look so Imperial in design. Yeah, but you're a PvP guy. Mechan, despite all the memes (2m2s Krait anyone) has literally clapped a Hydra in an Eagle. Seems like a difference in specialty, is all. So, on one hand I wanna hear his reasoning for the cleans (is that thermal load really such a great deal? Is he just considering your average 2024 AX Peelot?) but on the flip, truth is my Titan Krait is running Dirty and it works. Overall with the shit I've seen Mechan do, I still have pretty high faith in his builds. Even despite that one Mamba.
@@SewerynPas I would certainly, absolutely, not go that far. My Krait would lose a good 40m/s with Cleans instead of Dirty, and that puts me into having to ride the Basi lightning phase. The size of NOPE that is to me is way out there past Betelgeuse. However, threat analysis inside the Titan's bastion will likely bring up Clopses for the most part, with Scythes if there's anything to pick up (550m/s) and Glaives (750m/s) if you go hard and hot. You will still outrun a Clops if need be, and you're not outrunning Scythes or Glaives in just about any build you might bring into the Maelstrom. I'm curious though, what the reasoning behind Cleans on a 'Strom build might be.

Ya that community goal was a miss... I'm not trading in data when it can't be as easily refill as manufactured now... if they had gone with physical mats insteeeeeeeead... ya. That might have been interesting.
dont think its gutamaya. i think its something else since gutamaya ships stick to smooth curves whereas this has some sharp lines (other than the ends of the thrusters)
Why dont they just increase size of the stations and entrance, since station exterior and slot seem way too undersized , then add a larger landing pad. Im not programer so i wouldnt know how hard that would be to do.
We already have too many ships, most of them being rarely or never seeen in-game (apart from NPCs) because CMDRs only fly the best-in-class ships. What we need is a new concept, a ship that really adds something and will be used.

i hope for some new battleboat, we are running out of those
type 8 is surprisingly effective as a miner/explorer, not a trader
@@sakatababa Elite don't lack battleships imo :) but I must admit I am a peacefull commander lol
Imperial Explorer? they're saying Gutamaya, that can be the explorer right? (The one from the table top)
no way this is gutamaya
their ships are pretty
this is core dynamics level of ugly
like a large fas or something like that
0:28 Hey that picture looks familiar.
yay!
orthogonal shape of the ship appears similar to core dynamics vessels, like fas
i am unconvinced that gutamaya designed this, it just isn't pretty enough
heck, i would even accept that zorgon designed it over gutamaya
guess i was right, not a gutamaya but a zorgon...
Honestly if we get 3/4 of the new ships by the end of the year that'll still be twenty times less broken promises than Star Citizen, so I'll be a very happy CMDR.
Another thought might be people are busy upgrading there brand spanking new Mk 2 Pythons and need the materials for other stuff
Remember, Commanders. I didn't make a whole meta engineering guide for y'all to go and put CLEAN DRIVES on your Python 2s.
Clean drives are profit
Please 🙏🙏🙏 be a large ship dedicated to exploration.
FDev made the limits of the encoded mats CG way way way too high. It's not easy milk run cargo hauls, mats farming takes time and you're forced to go back and forth from mats traders. What were they thinking?
Can't see any landing gear so it's anyone's guess. It would be nice for the next one to be a long-range explorer with a very large window, top and bottom, and its own plant scanner. Plus, it has to land on rugged terrain! That's my Christmas wish 😊
I want it to be the Panther Clipper so badly
Will take every meter of L-pad and docking is possible to fit into mailslot with autodocker only (core equipment)
agreed that encoded materials and raw materials are still a pain in the butt but manufactured mats are piss easy
Ya that community goal was a miss... I'm not trading in data when it can't be as easily refill as manufactured now... if they had gone with physical mats insteeeeeeeead... ya. That might have been interesting.
Will we find Raxxla, the Guardian's home world, and take the fight to the Thar's?
That a CG looks to fail during the summer holiday season is no surprise.
For me personally, it has been simply to hot to consider gaming.
What else is there to do inside with the ac running?
As far as the pic....its not the ship that is important. Its the base and hanger....base building incoming.
Oh plase be an Imperial medium, it's a gaping hole in the line
Also is it me or does that "new Ship" look like the back end of the Ghost from Star Wars
Python mk 3, let's goooo
😂
The thrusters don't look much larger than some of those we have in game.
Definitely is a Glutamayo ship
Hanger 7 is a large pad, on carriers.
Ah, Medium Imp Eagle mk III EX (or AX)
how many thrusters it has:
Gutemaya: YES!!!
not likely
gutamaya has style
this is fas level of ugly
it just screams "core dynamic was here"
you sound like deckard cain, i love you (the one at the beggining of the video)
dont think its gutamaya. i think its something else since gutamaya ships stick to smooth curves whereas this has some sharp lines (other than the ends of the thrusters)
great job guys o7
Man, im happy to leave Tanner Settlement and never return. Although i made a very good profit of hauling stuff to the station.
Replicate the picture with players and each size ship to get a better idea of the size.
756,352/50,000,000
yeah, small amounts...
Would be funny if this ship would be mobile base of new personal stations construction :) ... one can still dream, right?
Why dont they just increase size of the stations and entrance, since station exterior and slot seem way too undersized , then add a larger landing pad. Im not programer so i wouldnt know how hard that would be to do.
lol thats not gonna happen. zero reason for them to change that or add a Larger large landing pad.
@@DubStepTomatoFarmer one can only hope, but I get it.
Clipper Mk2, Medium size pad
Cutter mk2?
used to be revenants you had to shoot for core chips (not banshees) - has this changed?
its still revenants.
STICKERZ
Addd mech combat dropped from orbit !!!! And pod racing!!
We already have too many ships, most of them being rarely or never seeen in-game (apart from NPCs) because CMDRs only fly the best-in-class ships. What we need is a new concept, a ship that really adds something and will be used.
Encoded mats are still hard to come by if they want manufactured mats I can pick up hundreds in a few minutes grade 5 mind you
I think the ship only looks asymmetrical in the artists impression. Seriously hope it's a long range SCO stabilized exploration ship.
Utopia CG is just suspicious. Could have something to do with Salvation or Guardians, and I say fuck both of em.
type 8 is miner/explorer rather then hauler
this looks like someone scaled fas and added jump range to it
and that makes me angry because i don't need another core dynamics ugly can trashing the space
@@sakatababa Type 8 has nothing to do with exploration... The jump range is mid, worse than current medium explorers, and you can't even get your SRV out from under the ship.
@@voidseekersarchive srv has some issues but they will fix that. it has nothing to do with purpose.
type 8 is a decent exp ship. dbx level of decent. it is more resilient for deep black and it is literally the only vessel we have except a 'conda that can do miner/explorer role without making it tedious.
@@sakatababa I think you mistake "ship that can be some sort of explorer but sucks at it" with "dedicated exploration ship with a SCO stabilization that can make it to a planet 600,000ls away without eating up your entire fuel tank immediately". I'm talking a dedicated exploration ship. From the 4-5 professions in the game, it wouldn't hurt to have each of the new ship variants serve one of them.
@@voidseekersarchive but it doesn't suck as explorer
it is clear you want to project your fantasy over the factual state of reality and there is no point in discussing this further with you
since my comment with hard data has been deleted several times. lets try with editing this post.
"my main role is explorer.
"has 15ly jump range less than other medium ships" - this is the most untrue statement ever, regarding this topic.
facts:
5c fsd in all, everything else is stock, unladen jump + range
asp explorer - 18.76 + 191.51
krait phantom - 13.28 + 134.15
diamondback explorer (only small explorer viable) - 22.34 + 229.71
python mk2 - 18.41 + 64.34
type 8 - 23.42 + 161.04
now stop spreading crap and conform to reality already. data is there for us to see easily.
if you want to talk modified ships, then the skew goes farther in the favor of type 8. aspx and phantom don't have that class 7 and type 8 has more class 6 optionals. fuel tank is the same on all (class 5) except for python mk2 (class 4). all other medium ships don't come even close to ones pointed with jump or range.
by it's very design, type 8 is clearly an explorer/miner, made to get valuable items and rush back to the bubble, to safety. i would suspect retrieving of ax materials was the main objective when they made it but by giving it many small hardpoints and large optional internals they made it viable for mining in the black, too.
facts are facts. if you don't like that type 8 is not a freighter but an explorer, go argue with f-dev. i didn't made the ship. i just love it. it fits my role almost perfectly.
i can finally go scout and mine at the same time, not making a double trip in dbx/krait or pestering a friend to come with me on a boring (for him) exploration."
Would be nice if they made weapon combined with all that BS!! TOO BEAT THE GOIDS,I WOOD LIKE TOO FIGHT THEM BUT TOO MUCH FOR ME A NOOB. Just Saying?
Because the paint job isn't that good and it was tight fisted to make it top 50% of contributors instead of 75% of contributors.
Federal Frigate!
Alliance Frigate
too large for pads in general.
Maybe? Just maybe? ...
Frontier will finally realise just how utterly crxp some of their paint jobs are...
Fdev really thought we would give up hard to acquire encoded material for an ugly krait paint job 😂
It’s about 10-15 minutes (round trip) for 150-200 g3 mats for the event via cross trading from Jameson crash, so I gave around 400 G3’s to hopefully secure myself in top 50%. Was way easier to do than the 3000 or so tons of cargo runs from ever increasingly far away mostly medium purchase locations to get to 50%, and hope that the number doesn’t increase over 3000 tons…
So I’ve been liking how few people have cared to touch the encoded mats one leading to a lower barrier for 50%
@@guhak cool. Still aint worth it though
@guhak yes I picked the data one too since it's faster and easier
anyway didn't work
If the new ships aren't available to console then I don't give a fuck.
I hope they make that right one day. All the other new games are on all the platforms, so why not Elite?
