“If it looks too good to be true it usually is…” FYI technically it’s a scam, a fraudulent financial transaction or theft . A robbery involves violence or a threat of violence.
I did the dance too a few months ago...ended up buying a Suzuki 20 with e start, power tilt and remote controls...Online Outboards, it was $5200 retail and I got it shipped for $3400, highly recommended place to buy a small outboard, cheers!
It's not real. If the motors were $100 or $200 discount it would be more believable. This entire thing is a scam. Thousands of people fall for it....with zero recourse.
I ran into this add the other day and "you will get screwed" alarm went off so loud that my ears are still ringing - there is no way you will get one of those motors for the price - the low shipping cost is a dead giveaway for starters - I believe there also might be custom fees that would need to be there - none of these manufacturers would allow there motors to be sold like this -
If you do that then you have no prof that your the owner to that account and Mastercard will take forever to reimburse you. Unlike a bank where they have fraud protection. Gift cards don’t
@@Whalermansteve84 That's true, but If it is a scam they won't have access to my bank account or my card with a higher credit limit that they can use before it gets shut down.

Walmart sells a 2 stroke Hangkai 6hp for $575. Have you ever worked on one of these motors? Just curious how much of a pain is to get parts. Plan on putting this on an inflatable 8' RHIB .
Holy crap I thought this guy was in Miami..... Sebastian Florida I think that's near Melbourne Palm Bay area, if I remember correctly I once went to the Sebastian inlet to fish..... Cool
likely to lose the money but a pre paid card would not have any of your personal info on it. Notice I'm like the government and have no problem spending others money!!!! 😂😂😂😂
fyi. when you log into your online banking, they sometimes give you the option of creating a virtual card. this will be linked to your actual credit card, but will have a different number, ccv, etc.. this can be deleted at any time.
Another great and informative vid, timely as I’m in the market for a new kicker. Hey Aaron if you were parting out a Yamaha 9.9 which parts would you keep? Asking for a friend (😵) who dropped his on it’s head and broke the gear off the camshaft when replacing the pivot shaft.
I'd sell it all lol best 2 options either fix it and sell it whole, or part it out, highly unlikely you keep any parts and reuse them on some other engine. :/ at least I've never reused any of the little engine stuff I save :/ lol might be worth fixing though, those 9.9's have decent resell value but I wouldn't keep anything, it'll probably just lay around and get rusty :(

Brave and stupid are two different things!
What I do with a sketchy purchase, I buy a Visa?MC gift card and use it.

Would love to see this experiment continue to a successful conclusion. Great Video IDEA!!!!
What is your definition of a “successful conclusion”?

On TH-cam there is a guy who bought a "Yamabisi" 9.9, for $800 + Shipping. It seemed to be a slightly modded Tohatsu

I go there to hunt the beaches for the 1715 fleet to get money for a new boat

Thank you, that's great info! I didn't know that
Could you do a video on restoring an anodized aluminum t-top and replacing / bending a custom or not available plexiglass windscreen? Thanks
There is no way a Yamaha or Mercury can be sold that cheap, the whole thing is a scam.
As simple as that.

@ yeah ok, I have way to many things that I’ve saved for some mythical future date. Time to downsize!
Thanks again for your great content Aaron !
Some cards allow you to request a one time credit card number for purchases.
Brazil is a developing country and when you see offers this cheap, it is most definitely a scam
What I learned is, once the money leaves the country... There's not much they can do... I have seen this with even PayPal...
Yeah, PayPal has let a scammer keep money for me too before, sucks bad :(
You are a brave soul.
That’s not how wires work. They give you their bank info. They don’t get yours. I use this method often overseas for business.
Hope its not a scam my twin f300 s and stage 3 helm master is on its way from aliexpress only $8000 what a deal!
Lol :)
If it's sounds to good to be true it is, so buyer beware!
Tell them your looking for merc 260 lol
Selling ice to an Eskimo!
Buy a Yamabisi! I wanna see it
I'm trying to do just that lol :)
Hahaha this is great
Totally sketch
It a waste of your time.
Just wait until the trump taxes aka tariffs go into effect.
What will happen then ? This will somehow become legit?
