Rhodan is currently making brushless but aren't too market yet. Mary at rhodan said 1st quarter 25 during i cast? I hope they get released soon. They had their brushless unit at icast on display. It was nice
Active captain makes it silly to buy any chartplotter other than Garmin. It so convenient to sit on my couch and see everything my plotter can. Plan routes, place locations, run my autopilot etc all from phone or tablet. Nobody else has an app even close.
is it better to have a trolling motor on the front of a boat for trolling or a smaller 4 stroke motor instead. my boat is a pontoon 18 footer, with 115 hp in rear, i was thinging of maybe a 4,6,9.9 ??? need help in which one to buy??????????????????
First of all happy new year "A". Best wishes for your future endeavors this year. What is your opinion on charging the TM with a solar trickle charger Vs. regular on board plugged-in charger? Mine works fine with solar and lithium battery, it takes 2 days to charge and it is free but I don't know if I am blundering something. Great video as usual 👊🏻.
I'm a fan of the solar panels lol if you don't run the battery down as quick as you charge it up, don't really see a reason to have the on board charger. Always nice to have the onboard but if you don't run the battery down enough why spend the money on something you don't need lol :)
A transom mounted trolling motor can be mounted in the bow with a bracket and turning the tiller head 180 degrees. But a bow mounted can only be mounted in the bow.
Yes you can, we regularly mount the bow mount digital trolling motors on the transom of our skiffs for tarpon fishing. This allows you to have a completely clean bow for fly fishing but you have to have quite a bit of room in the back to mount it back there. Also when you “spot lock” it puts the transom into the wind/current instead of the bow, great for fishing.
@bornagainboating Motor guide is basically out of business and selling its assets to Lowrance / Simrad, that is why there page is broke and there is little information on it. Read the message below the description and you will see the messaging.
Great video, lots of good info. I have the 12v 55lbs thrust minn kota powerdrive. Its an awesone trolling motor, love the spot lock

Yeah, Garmin definitely is at the top of their game right now for sure

TWO 115’s
Looks like there will be a 90" Garmin Kraken in my future. Nice.
Lol :)
My understanding is that MotorGuide no longer produces trolling motors under their name. They do make trolling motors for Simrad and Lowrance.

Yeah, but they are for a specific use when you put them on the back, a lot of the functions don't work the same :/ but yes, you can lol
Not much information that isn't an add. Was looking forward to hearing some experience with these units.
Brushless cost much higher; not worth it.

That makes a lot more sense lol
