  • Hi guys, I bought these label printers 2 years ago (2018) from local stores here in the Philippines. They have served me well and I have been labelling my stuff since. I thought I'd give them a short review as they are still in the market. I hope this overview of label printing and these printers may give you an idea of their benefits. Cheers!

    Hi guys. By chance I found a well made, alternative case for the Epson LW-K400. I've uploaded a video about it. You may want to check it out. Happy labelling! th-cam.com/video/6p-7EJEubzk/w-d-xo.html

    Hi, thanks for posting this, very informative. Do both models have multiple font options? Are there cheaper tape alternatives from thir parties for Epson?

    • @ramschannelreviews
      @ramschannelreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, both as standalone devices, have several built-in fonts and format. However, since the Brother PT-D600 can also be connected to the PC and use its own software, you have more options on fonts, icons, symbols, etc... Mostly though the standalone fonts and symbols should be enough for quick and simple labels. Third party labels tapes are available online. I buy mine from lazada and shopee. I suggest test first from a seller a few tapes only to check their compatibility. Have fun labelling!

    Hi! Thanks for reviewing and comparing! Does this label printer has any typewriter font? Thank you

    • @ramschannelreviews
      @ramschannelreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Unfortunately no. Although there were several font choices the closest to a typewriter-like font was "Gothic" on both the labelers. However, since the PT-D600 has a PC software, you can download additional stuff to print. A typewriter font may be there, although I haven't checked it. Thanks for your comments!

    what is the most efficient type of label printer with the less margin tape band?

      Between the two I reviewed here, definitely the Epson LW-K400.

      Hello bro, yes the LW-K400 can print on 2 lines. I've tested this on 9mm and 12mm tapes.

    yung print sa tape nung epson Lw- K400,, malinaw po ba or medyo blurred.. gusto ko bumili kaya lang medyo confused po ako kung malinaw yung mga print ng mga letters..thank you sa review.. malaking tulong po..

    • @ramschannelreviews
      @ramschannelreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Salamat din po. Yes sir malinaw po at sharp ang print sa parehong labelers basta AC power supply adaptor nila gamitin. Kung battery naman once mahina na (low batt) lumalabo na po ang print kaya palit ng bagong alkaline or recharge na kung rechargeable AA ang gamit po ninyo. I suggest kung mag battery po kayo, rechargeable na po kasi kung alkaline/carbon zinc maaring mag leak. Medyo mas maganda po ng konti ang quality ng font at spacing ng characters sa Brother. Bumawi naman po ang Epson dahil walang tapon na tape sa simula ng print.

      Hi Alyssa. I bought them from Lazada. Some were generic brands I forgot, but some were branded Fimax. They work well. Don't forget to check their compatibility in the ads' product description. Good luck!

    • @ramschannelreviews
      @ramschannelreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@maalyssagomez1938 Based on internet photos, labellers LW-400 and LW-K400 looked the same. But I have a suggestion. Perhaps you can order just 2 tapes first. Either 2-12mm, or 2-9mm, just to be on the safe side. You can just add more once you verified that they fit. I didn't have any problem with 9mm and 12mm tapes I bought from lazada Phil. But I once ordered 18mm tapes from Aliexpress (18mm not available from lazada) and when they arrived, none of those 18mm tapes fit my LW-K400 labeller.

    Can someone do a video on how to not waste the tape on the end when printing the label.

    • @ramschannelreviews
      @ramschannelreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, with the Brother PT-D600 there will always be that extra bit of tape cut off at the beginning. I have another Brother labeler, the PT-E300 which does the exact same thing.
      As you may have already discovered one way this can be minimized is by printing as many words as possible in one label and just manually cut them individually with scissors- but this is inconvenient.
      The EPSON LW-K400 does not waste tape. Every millimeter counts. However, the quality of the printed text from the Brother D600 & E300 labelers looks a bit better compared with the ones from the LW-K400. The PT-D600 and the PT-E300 also print faster. But if you are not picky with print quality and speed, the LW-K400 may suit your purpose better.

    Hi po nagffade po ba yung print? Lalo pagnaiinitan. Thermal printer sya dba.

    • @ramschannelreviews
      @ramschannelreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello po. Hindi po sya kagaya ng thermal paper at print na ginagamit sa mga receipt sa cashier ng mall which will fade quickly even if it's kept safe. Mas matibay po ang sticker label material at lasting ang print ng label printers. Although I have not tested it on purely sunlight exposure use i suspect full exposure to the elements will affect the quality of print after a while. That said, the barcode I printed for my bike helmet using the label printer is still as sharp as new. For indoor use, none of my prints have faded yet. The adhesive was also very strong.

    ano ink gamit ng printer? kasi nangamba ako baka madali siya mag bara kapag di araw araw nagagamit??

    • @ramschannelreviews
      @ramschannelreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, wala pong ink yung mismong label printer. Ink is built-in (sealed) in the labelling tape. Prints are formed in the tape when it passes the print head of the printer. So far, from my experience, wala pa naman po akong naging problema kahit matagal na hindi nagagamit ang aking label printers.

    Epson is more reliable, has cheap cartridges, and wastes less tape before and after the printed stuff.
