Muchas gracias compañero texano!!! Home repairs are the one thing that truly frustrate me the most. But I was able to do it watching your amazing and super explanatory video. Sincerely, a housewife 😊 👍 🎉
Thank you! This is the first project I'm tackling around my home. Feel better after watching your tutorial! I'm a visual learner & this was great for a newbie DIYer!
@ 14:05 He said “A lot of people say Ahh it’s simple”, some people might but this was challenging for me. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without this video, so thank you both so much!!
I tried for an hour to put this up and then thought to u tube it. Your video made it so easy I would of never got it. I kept looking for a cord to lower the blind! Lol thank you so much for this!
Thanks for the video, I’m installing some today. I noticed you cut from one side, if you wanted to take a 1/2 inch off, should you take 1/4 inch off each side?
Wait...shouldn't you split the difference between the 2 sides so your strings are centered after its hung up??? Seems like if you lop off the entire measurement on just one side...When you hang it up the 3 draw strings will be farther to one side and not centered in the window???
You are correct. He did cut equal amounts on each side. We just showed doing one side to shorten the video assuming people knew that it had to be repeated on both sides. If we ever do the video again, we'd point that out.
I wish you would have show the center mount. I got the sides on with no issue but the center has me yelling some choice words. No where to put a screw driver, much less a drill.
Hmmm. I wonder why? You grab the bottom and pull down. If that doesn't work, you may have bought a defective blind. We actually bought and installed a window recently that wouldn't open. It happens.
@@TexasHomesteaders Thank you for your response. I had to pull the blind down much, much harder and it came down. I was afraid of pulling too hard and bringing down the whole blind, but it needed to be pulled down hard. It's supposed to pull down easily with little pull, but it doesn't. Have a nice day. 🌞❤
It would have been more helpful if this was done by someone who didn't appear to be doing it for the first time. Why cut all on one side rather than trim half off each? Apparently, you can't just put the valance clips anywhere. Why not measure or eyeball the clip placement before installing the blind? Why did the blind need to be removed in the fully open and awkward position rather than in the closed position?
He wasn't doing it for the first time. He was doing a video like that for the first time and it tends to make some people nervous. He did cut off both sides. Sometimes video editing cuts things off that shouldn't have been cut off. We assumed people would know you can't just cut it all off on one side and make it lop sided. Common sense and all. If you think you can do a better video, have at it bud.
Not sure what you are alluding to. I'd, be happy to take a picture of all of our blinds and email them to you. Pretty simple cut. Cuts about like wood and not many people zoom in on the cut when cutting wood so why would we here? - cheri
I can't thank you enough! Your video made me able to do this in 10 min. when I pulled these blinds out of the box I was feeling overwhelmed. Thanks!🎉
Glad to hear it! I'll let Tommy know. :)

You're very welcome
At 12:54 you said hold on wait a minute that’s what I figured and then you did something else to slide the valance on. What did you do? Thanks
He moved the clips because they were hitting something. You can reposition them.
Thank you! Take care.
Man this helped me today
Thank you
Thank you for the video!!
You're welcome
Thank you !! This is vey helpful !!
You're welcome
Thanks for the video. Very helpful
You're welcome!
Appreciate you Og🫡💯
How do you make the bottom close. My bottom blinds is doesn't shut that well. I still see an inch gap.
After you shorten the blinds according to the height of your window, there is a bit of a gap at the bottom. I guess it is a design flaw.
I just ordered these same faux wood blinds from Lowes! They look nice. How are they holding up?
The first set we installed in 2017 and they still look brand new even after sitting in the hot Texas sun all these years.
Thanks!
You bet!
Thanks for the video, I’m installing some today. I noticed you cut from one side, if you wanted to take a 1/2 inch off, should you take 1/4 inch off each side?
Either way works
Thanks
Thank you so much!
Cool video
🙏🏽 THANK YOU!!!
Happy new year dear friend🎉 🎂🌸🎈🎁👍👍👍
Same to you.

@Tommy & Cheri Homestead At Waterfall Cottage OH! Ok lol...thanks for clarification...Good video.
Thanks
You're welcome!
Good job my dear👍
Thank you!
I wish you would have show the center mount. I got the sides on with no issue but the center has me yelling some choice words. No where to put a screw driver, much less a drill.
He didn't use the center bracket. Our windows aren't really wide enough to need it.
Anyone notice a smell after they cut their blinds? Trying to determine if it is safe. Thanks.
A dull/hot blade might produce a smell but otherwise no smell here.
Cool bro 💙
Thank you
Follow up video showing the cut ends.... th-cam.com/video/cQuxuF0U_-E/w-d-xo.html
Can't lower them for anything!

That’s a triangle
What"s a triangle?
Oh. The speed square. lol. Yeah, it is technically a triangle but most of us call it a speed square and he just shortened it.
