Its amazing to me how in such a short amount of time (as in about 2-3 weeks) I went from not knowing who Ghost even was, to them being one of my favorite bands of all time and its Meliora and specifically Cirice and He Is I have to thank for that (both songs that would be contenders for being in my top 100 favorite songs of all time). Thank you Ghost and put out that fourth album soon so I can get a chance to see you on tour this time! Hail Satan, Welcome Year Zero and all that!

Okay, I'm 60 years old and have seen popular music and even metal go from astonishing to pure crap within a couple of decades. All over the internet I see and hear "Today's music sucks," and I embraced that opinion. But this band gives me hope. Today's music is officially no longer crap. It is in fact mind blowing. I've not been this excited about a band since the glory days of progressive rock, hard rock and metal. I hope they keep growing -- as long as they don't get so big that suddenly everyone is tired of them.

Going to my first one next month, driving from the Georgia/Tennessee border to Ohio to see them! I have a feeling I'll be hooked.
Best Ghost concert ever. I wasnt there but just watching this video, it's all so perfect. I can't get into the arena rock stuff they're going for now. This is what a rock show is all about. Not having to go to some huge arena or stadium and take all night getting home. And the stage itself is small enough that every person in the audience can see every person on the stage. There's no choreographed body groping and fights like in the new ghost shows. You just see a bunch of rockers who passionately love the music they're playing and Papa the consummate professional upholds everything else. I just miss seeing this first iteration of the band, even though we didn't know what was going on behind the scenes, they were the best rock band of all time
Soooo glad I found this! I'm new convert and have been looking for Papa III footage. So wish I was a follower back then. Although long gone Terzo has a special place in this girls' 💜🤟

I recently watched a great video of one of their early shows, just after Eponymous was released, London, Evil Underground, and they were already using that creepy intro and I loved it. I will always miss Papa III, but love Cardinal and look forward to Papa IV! 🤘🏻 Thanks for this post. The video quality is outstanding, and on a 75" screen!

Great angle of Henrik’s bass part during the lead in Spirit. I don’t think most people appreciate how complicated that part under the guitar solos actually is.

I just very recently discovered Ghost and all the joy of being a Ghost fan! I mean like only a few weeks so yes uber Ghost virgin here....but holy FUCK I think this concert just popped my cherry!! They played at a music store here in Phoenix last year and I hope like hell they cum back! I will be total front row if they get anywhere near here!! I am converted!!

Say what you will about Roky Erickson going off the rails, but the way Ghost made that song their own, the way they perform it so wonderfully, gives me those feel good vibes every time. In an impossibly strong catalog of hits, it just might be my favorite Ghost song. Cannot wait for the next Denver show (and it's only been a few weeks).

He was bothering this one particular girl, threatening to beat her up, then I stuck between this asshole and the girl's boyfriend trying to calm them down.

It's almost like there are two papa's now. The one from the beginning in the pope's clothes was a little less personable than the one not dressed in pope's clothes. Either way, I love these guys. They have brought the enjoyment back to the metal community. I hope they take over the world some day!

Such a tight sounding band at this point in the scope of Ghost...after this just sub par musicians that can dance and do the devil horn sign while strumming a guitar. These guys were too busy playing the music to do a chuck berry shuffle across the stage.
I can agree, but then disagree. They are much bigger now, and Tobias has visions that are coming into view. I agree with you that songs like "Cirice" played live are becoming a mockery of itself. You know whats going to happen. But I think, musicianship wise, they are on a whole other than, lets say, Meliora.

No, there was some asshole that was starting shit with the people that just wanted to enjoy the music (you can hear Papa laying into him). I was about one row of people off of the left stage and I experienced nothing but fun, cool music lovers.

They were the best band on the second stage. I'm a huge Hellion but sound issues really ruined Hellyeah's set. Ghost stole the show. Papa telling everyone to take care of the children that were down front was a class act. Left Rockfest a HUGE Ghost fan!
They'll be back in KC September 30th. Can't wait!!

We were ready and rolling at 9.45>then Ghost didnt come on until 10.30pm. Show was over at Midnight. > Note: 3 songs were cut (Prime Mover, Stand by Him, and Jigolo Har Megiddo) from the normal tour set due to, ALL Ages, curfew.

The night before in Albuquerque, he got pissed because crowd surfers were hurting some of the smaller people in the crowd.
