I just returned home to Virginia USA from a two month photoshoot in Vancouver Island Canada. I feel the new TK 9 version 3 has turned my photo editing world upside down. I hope that learning the new changes can be incorporated into my new workflow. If not then I will just scroll back to the older TK9. I am not convinced that making changes to a working platform like TK9 for the sake of fixing something that did not need fixing is the best way to improve function. I have used Tony’s panels from the start thus I will give series 3 a try. I will need your continuing videos to get me through my TK9 anxiety. Thanks Dave.
The wonderful thing about this channel is that you get to know Dave and it feels like an extended family member. I downloaded the new version yesterday (Tuesday) and I told myself: I'll bet you anything that Dave will show up on Wednesday with a new chapter explaining this new update. Hold and behold, here he is😀. Your teaching skills are second to none my friend! I'm so happy I subscribed to this channel a long time ago!
I just downloaded this update. First thanks to Tony, the genius behind the TK panels. Tony just improved an already wonderful tool; I use the TK panels in all my photoshop work. And Dave, your teaching skills are excellent. This tutorial just gave me a significant head start with learning the new features in the TK panels. I now am looking forward to seeing the new features used in the awesome TK Friday tutorials. Thanks Tony and Dave!!!!!!
Fantastic. Thanks Tony, for simplifying the process of editing our pictures. Can't wait to download later today. A special thank you to DK and SB for continuing to show us all the tips and tricks. Can't believe not having TK 9 as a plugin.
Hi Dave, first of all many thanks to Tony, Sean, David and of course you for the continuous development and explanations of the TK9 plugin. I installed it yesterday, including David's actions, and was eagerly awaiting your first video on version 3, which showed me that I still have a lot of reading to do to understand all the new features :-) But I'm pretty sure you'll be making more videos on this topic and I'm really looking forward to them. By the way, I have an action panel here where David's actions seem to work fine.
Beautiful video Dave, thank you. You have become an essential part of the TK ecosystem. I notice that Content Aware Fill is no longer an option with the new TK9 Fill button. I miss it. Hopefully I’m overlooking something.
Thanks Barney. It’s still there. Just command/CTRL Click on the “REM CAF” button for Content Aware Fill. Just Clicking the button gives you a new Blank Pixel Layer with the Remove Tool. (Make sure the remove tool is set to “Sample All Layers”
Thanks for the kind comments Dave. It was interesting exploring the new action functionality and creating the examples. Not sure if I could edit without some of them these days. One click intersection to tidy up dodging and burning etc gets used a lot.
There are a lot of awesome new features. I've got my update yesterday i the evening. I will tryout the new features in the next days. Especially I enjoy that's the recording the button clicks on the TK panel now is possible.
Absolutely amazing Dave… A real acceleration in my workflow… It is quite apparent the work and thought that has gone into this panel… I thought V2 was ground-breaking, but V3 is V2 on steroids! Looking forward to the tutorials Dave and great work from Sean too..👍
Yes, some actions were recorded using Cx for access to things like Mask Calculator. It only needs to be installed, it doesn't need to be in the workspace. I have suggested to Dave that he mentions this the next time he covers the example actions, but may be too late for next TK Friday.
Great video as always Dave and so clearly explained , I was strugling with the new actions provided but you sorted it for me in a matter of minutes , keep up the good work .
What a great job are you all doing, Tony, Dave and Sean! This upgrade is amazing. I have one question: when using the TK-buttons for programming an action, that action runs smoothly. However, when I add that action to the personal actions in the TK-panel, it doesn't work. Is there an explanation for this, am I doing something wrong?
Dave, as ever, a great insight and thank you to Tony, Sean and yourself. I'm not able to find any of the David Tillett/Keith Simpson actions and documents. Can you please explain how to get these. Many thanks.
1. Go to your TK9-V3.0.0-english (Download Folder) 2. Open it up and you will find another folder called "Documents and Resources" 3. Open the (Documents and Resources Folder) and you will find all of the PDF Documents and another folder called "TK9 Example Actions" (you can open these documents and read them with a PDF reader) 4. Open (TK9 Example Action Folder) and you will find all of David Tillett's Actions plus a PDF Document concerning his actions. Install David Tillett's TK9 Action Set: 1. Open up Photoshop Actions 2. Click on the "hamburger menu found at the top right of Photoshop Actions panel (5 horizontal lines) 3. Look for (Load Actions) and click on (Load Actions). Point your file browser to the TK9 Actions folder (you will need to open it) 4. Click on (TK9 Actions.atn) and make it active and Click Open (This will install the actions into Photoshop) Install David Tillett's Blend If Action Set: Repeat the above procedure but this time Load (TK9 Blend If Actions.atn)
Thanks, Brian! For anyone looking for David Tillett's actions, you will find them here: TK9 v3 download folder>Documents and Resources>TK9 Example Actions. There is a PDF with instructions on how to install and use them.
Just watched your video Dave, but I have to spend my morning with other commitments.....can't wait to get back home and load up the new TK9 version and get this going........didn't I send you a note some time ago asking if it was possible to automate your balance and contrast technique......???😁😁😁
Super video. I am looking for the location of the pdf documents to download the actions and for the modifier pdf and cannot find them. Would you be able to share that?
The TK9 Actions work great. However, the supplemental actions (Red, Green, and Purple groups) don't work. I received an error message saying The Command "Play" Is Not Currently Available. I'd love to use the balance and contrast action. Can you help? Thanks
Hey Dave, Thanks for the video. I just downloaded the update and installed all the modules and I'm not seeing the additional actions that you show in the Actions menu. Where do I find those in the update?
1. Go to your TK9-V3.0.0-english (Download Folder) 2. Open it up and you will find another folder called "Documents and Resources" 3. Hi Dave, I really enjoy your tutorials and now that I have downloaded the TK9 V3 I tried applying the photoshop actions on the latest image with the ice rock on the beach. A lot of the time the following message is displayed: "The command “Play” is not currently available." I can't find a way around it. Can you help?
I've got the same error. The uncheck of the first line ("Play action "Close panels" of set "TK9 actions" ") of the appropriate action in the Actions window of Photoshop (the Button modus must be deactivated) solve the problem.
Have you reorganised the Action Sets? All the examples start with call to Close Panels expecting it to be in the TK9 actions set. Calling Close Panels ensures actions start from known state. My contact details are in PDF if that is not the case, let me know and I will see if I can sort it.
I have just done the Ice edit using the actions, and taking advantage of some of the V3 new features, without getting any errors. I used the actions from the TK9 Actions actions set as installed from the download folder to ensure I was using the same actions as available with the released version of TK9 V3. If you are still having problems I suggest that you deleted the TK9 action sets that you have installed and then reinstall from the downloads folder and try the edit without making any changes to these action sets.
@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly The replies from the guys below set me on the right path and all is working well now. Thanks for these tutorials, they have and are helping me so much with my editing journey.
